Have any of you tried to watch a kids sitcom lately? Disney or Nickelodeon? I know it wasn't genius tv when I was a kid but it has gotten sooooooooo bad. Have you watched iCarly for 5 minutes? Probably not because it's unwatchable YET it is huge with kids. This new show is not out to satisfy nostalgia-hungry adults, it is being marketed to kids and therefore will be as bad as anything else on Disney. This is going to destroy a lot of childhood memories folks. Tread lightly, lower expectations and pray for a pleasant surprise.

Sort of illustrating the point that they have thrown a lot of logic out the window and are asking me, as a viewer, to ignore it. In this case you're also doing that to serve a plot point that doesn't really advance any arc, it felt like they were essentially filling the episode with whatever in order to pace the show appropriately. Which to me, is sloppy writing. I don't need the show to be airtight, it isn't, but I would prefer my leaps in logic to be accompanied with something of value.

Good thing to consider re: Zao! I do agree that as far as marketing vinyl, T&N could be doing much better. I think they're starting to recognize that, however.

I loved House Of Leaves, but it is quite a tough read, especially when you get a little bit farther in and you have to read a 50pg appendix then go right back to where you left off. Also, longest footnotes EVER. Also, your avatar...woof!

I wouldn't say "taken a break." But I seem to have gotten pretty good at picking and choosing. I used to just buy whatever, but now I've gotten kind of particular with what I get.

Lots of first Christmas for husbands here. Congrats all. Last year we "got" each other a trip. We went to Cambridge and caught a Bruins game and had a nice weekend together. I think we may do that again, it was awesome and we didn't have to worry to much about gift shopping. There may not be hockey, but there will still be beer.

To be fair in this case people are pledging to help a new album get made and get a vinyl with new music they have not heard. Most people pledging for the YMAEWK LP have already heard the album and if they are pledging really like it but it is not anything different than the cds for the most part. It may end up sounding better or worse but overall it is paying 25 for a collectors item versus 25 dollars to help an arguably consistent band write a new album and get the new album in the process on vinyl.

I'm not blaming collectors for Tooth & Nail pressing 500 copies on 3 colors when the demand was clearly higher. I am blaming them for flying into a blind panic whenever presented with variants. "Oh hey they pressed this album! A lot of people want this album, it has been talked about for literally years. I'd better get in my order, it's strange that they only pressed 500 considering the likely high demanOH MY GOD THERE ARE THREE COLORS ADD TO CART ADD TO CART ADD TO CART CHECK OUT PAYPAL CONFIRM OH MAN THAT WAS CLOSE I ALMOST DIDN'T HAVE THREE COPIES OF THIS RECORD" It's fine when there are a million variants and it doesn't affect anyone because you can still buy black next week, and I keep my mouth shut in those situations, but when they announce a one-time pressing strictly limited to 500 (even when it doesn't turn out to be true) I would hope that people would stifle the boner they get from spending money like water and be courteous to those who just want a copy of this record, and pass on letting 2/3 copies rot on their shelves.

i found 2 dollars in my pocket when i put on my pants this morning... that was pretty awesome.
