I see this sentiment a lot on this board, and I think it's really ironic, and missing the point of records a bit. The point of vinyl (for me, at least) is that it's an archival format. It takes a lot of resources to make, but with proper care and maintenance, it will last forever. I have my dad's old records and play them all the time, i love that I'm listening to the same exact thing he did in the 70s. A CD is data storage, and a fragile method at that. In 20 years (hell, now if you know the proper channels) you can download and burn a perfect copy of any CD and print out a 5x5 cover, maybe even get the booklet on iTunes. Its value is temporary and increasingly trivial. I'll pay a couple bucks for digital music, but vinyl is for things I care about. And you've lost interest in music you paid for a year ago? iTunes is that way, bro. This goes double for all the "nostalgia value" pressings that makes kids jizz their pants and flush sixty bucks down the drain. Midtown sucks, y'all, how often and for how long are you going to want to relive middle school? Am I the only one who hated middle school?

The copies on tour with them are normal black. Bought one in hopes even though I have a color on the way. Saw them at Metro a few weeks ago. Great set. The cop/merch guy is fantastic. Walked around stage for the first 4 songs flipping people off.

one of my favorite record I own is The Appleseed Cast's "Two Conversations" that graveface put out... It looks great (clear with highlighter yellow, black, and white splatter) and sounds great.

OK, so what I do first is find a good sized photo of the album artwork (500x500 or higher is best!). I blow up the photo big and lower the opacity on it to make a good looking background. I then paste another photo of the album artwork to the program and make it smaller. I find a record from another release that already has something similar to what I want or google what i'm looking for i.e. "yellow vinyl record". I make the record the size of the album artwork and bury it behind it a little bit to create the record going into the jacket effect. After all that I cut a circle out of the album artwork and paste it over the label on the record and a small hole in the center. For effect/professionalism I add a backrop shadow and done!

I'm most likely coming up to this from DC. Being from CT and all this is really awesome and glad it's for such a good cause. I haven't seen Hostage Calm in a hall show since they played with Title Fight in 2010, which rules, and well, last time I saw MHTJ was their last show. I have a house in CT so if anyone was interested in traveling to the show, I'd be willing to house friendly people!

Alright I decided to attempt it myself. I'm really bad at Photoshop, but regardless a 2xLP needs to happen someday. I was gonna do Tony Hawks Pro Skater 1 but couldn't find the cover without the E for everyone logo or the playstation logo.
