Please, teach more general rules as I haven't lived longer than most of you to know. For fuck's sake, it's the internet and VC. Again, been around long enough to be able to draw my conclusions based on these observations. To further avoid the inevitable tautological posts that surely will follow, I'll contribute to OP. In general, I think buying a record to just hang on the wall is stupid. That said, I do understand the appeal and do it for my own practical reason. This is my first press VU & Nico (with torso back and unpeeled banana). Worth a few hundred shekels. I have a 3 year old. There's no way I'm leaving this out with my other records. This would invariably be the one my son fines and rips apart.

So I've been having a lot of issues with my mental health and I spent the entire day today listening to records and trying to compile a list of upcoming releases. I think that I did a pretty good job, even if the formatting and appearance aren't the best. I got home from work yesterday to a package from the USA that I hadn't paid for. I ordered the debut LP from the band A Band in Pictures a while back via bandcamp and when I ordered it there didn't seem to be any way to pay postage, I'm in the UK so expected it to be expensive and when I sent the payment for the LP I added a note saying let me know what postage is and I'll send it over. Not long after my paypal payment was refunded and I thought no more about it. But I get home tonight and I have a package from the band which contains the album on CD and vinyl plus a band t-shirt and a letter from the band to me apologising for it taking so long to get to me saying they had been on hiatus but were now back making music and to accept the package free of charge as they were stoked to be sending stuff over to the UK. Obviously I was very happily surprised by this and this LP has instantly gone into my most prized section, I have a new gig t-shirt and the band now have a life long fan who will be looking out for any more of their releases. I did see on the bands facebook page they had sent a similar letter and LP to someone in the US but as the LP was only a pressing of 200 I feel quite privileged as they can't have sent many out like this.

Didn't say it played perfect...just that it played fine. And the record I got signed on the grooves looks awesome...wouldn't normally do it, but hey it's my record and Ill do what I want.

Mine came in today, I'm in central PA. I got number 25, no tracking number was provided, and the sticker was taped to the cardboard. I think that covers everything. :-P Oh, the record looks great. Hopefully get to listen to it later tonight.

No idea why it's not, actually. A standard coke bottle blue would've been a way better choice. I will say that this is the nicest variant of the OST thus far, though.

Hot Topic exclusive colored vinyl. A/B is a really cool looking translucent pink, I've actually never seen a record this color before. C/D is a cool looking orange, a little different than a standard translucent orange. Both have a bit of a swirl effect to them.

Hot Topic will have colored vinyl and I believe it will be the only colored vinyl for this release.

My intelligence is feeling slightly insulted right now, lol. Of course I know that Hot Topic/Fueled By Ramen didn't release a 24k gold-plated record of a Panic! At The Disco album, that you wouldn't even be able to play, for $21. That's actually kinda hilarious, omg. I know that when I first started becoming interested in vinyl, I wasn't even aware that variants other than black even existed. haha. So, that being said. If I took some time to frame it all nice in a plaque sort of fashion and someone with limited knowledge took a look at it, they might be tricked into thinking it could be worth something.

I loved like the first 2/3 of Noah. Probably because I read false spoilers about the ending that would have made the movie CRAZY dark. The creation scene was amazing though. Beautiful movie throughout too. The Fountain is probably in my all time Top 5.

BTW Brittany, my wife bought me one of the frames that open from the top so you can slide the sleeve in and out easily...and...it works wonderfully. I use it to display the sleeve of whatever I am currently spinning. Unless it is a really thick 2LP gatefold sleeve or more than 2 LPS, it closes without pressing on the sleeve too hard. This way you can take out the record and look at it if you want (or..<shudders>...play it on your cruiser). Either way, you'll be able to conserve the record's quality because it's basically just standing in the frame instead of being compressed. I will say that the frame is kinda pricey, but you save $$$ if you buy the 3 pack. Good Luck, and congrats on your new addiction...err hobby.

Well, of the 133 releases I've put out since 2006, 132 of them DON'T have these drawbacks, so it's safe to say that some of my other works in the future will not have them either. You can check out all 132 of my "not freaky" records at PIAPTK.com. Pressed records in handmade sleeves, handmade/stained/silkscreened wooden boxsets, see-through picture discs, X-Ray flexis, Hand bound books, etc etc. Almost all of them incorporate some sort of handmade art, and the vast majority are "practical players". And like I said, even these 6 siders play fine on every turntable I own (6 of them). If you've got some sort of weird turntable that has no clearance outside the platter, then, bummer. What model is it? When I google image "Turntable", there isn't a single one on the first page that looks like has too little clearance. https://www.google.com/search?q=turntable&es_sm=93&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=gC_ZU6P9HpGDjAKGpoGYCw&ved=0CAkQ_AUoAg But for the present and the near future, I feel like getting freaky. So, you can expect even more weird "borderline practical" art pieces with music that people may or may not like in the very near future. All this is typed with love and a smile on my face. I love what I do, regardless of what anyone else thinks, but I appreciate the feedback from those that don't love it or understand it. It helps me to streamline my art and message so that it has the smallest chance of being misunderstood... but, even a message that is properly relayed is not always warmly received.

Can't say this enough - granted it took a while and a ton of people were upset, when the records finally came through they were top notch. Looking back the wait was well worth it.

Man, when my kid is not around, I like to not plan stuff and just go and do. Having a child pretty much means anything on a whim is out of question. So, when I have no child responsibilities, I like to just go with the flow.
