Depends on what you mean by 'limited', but yes. Further Out and Jar are definitely happening.

They still are a cheaper, quicker turn-around item, but what we're selling is not usually priced at $1-$5. Maybe I am wrong, and there are people out there losing money on every cassette they sell in the name of DIY, but those people are probably not getting cassettes professionally duplicated / printed in the first place. Tape labels that people on this messageboard follow or even own charge $6-$7.50 for 4-6 song EPs on cassettes. $11 or whatever our full length cassettes end up being after shipping is essentially a dollar two at most more than what it costs to download it from iTunes. AND it comes with a download. Also keep in mind we have tons of other expenses to recoup, like the cost of advances, recording costs, radio campaigns, publicists (sometimes multiple per record) pressing 5,000+ LPs, in store marketing, etc. You could say "well the tapes cost you $3 a copy, why can't you sell them for $6 and profit $3." Because after all of our costs, the tapes don't cost $3 anymore. Either way I am going to see if we can get them priced down a bit.

It's funny how people call it flipping when they want it. If you went to goodwill, found some jazz albums, came home and realized one was worth alot and sold it...everyone would tell you what an amazing score and sell it was

oh come on. people keep saying shit like "good thing I don't listen to these bands" or "these bands suck anyways" but this isn't about avoiding something. It's not about you. That dude still sexually assaulted a girl and a bunch of other bands and influential people in the scene denied that it ever happened. This is about not supporting bands and labels filled with rape apologists and offenders. It's not about "oh thank god i don't like this music anyways, so I"m off the hook". You don't need to like the bands to understand why this is horrible and people need to stop making this about themselves by ignoring the situation and just commenting on their musical tastes. this isn't directed at you - a lot of people have been doing this and it's been irking me.

Not sure if this breaks the rules since it's not technically a band/full label collection but it was tough to get regardless. Dino DNA variant came in today so I have all 4 versions now.

That point is silly because before they were a "cheap, fun item for bands to quickly get made" cassettes were the standard music format for twenty years, and in the 90's were costing upwards of $11 SRP in stores. Things change. We are charging $5-$7 for full lengths. Those are the same prices as every other label is selling for EPs, and 9/10 of those labels we're talking about do not have those expenses. Please stop looking for things to argue about and trying to make us the bad guy as if we're trying to do anything but give people another way to affordably buy music.

Yea this should be up online next week. I got a copy of the HT exclusive the other day and the package is awesome. Die cut cover, double insert and the white w/ black splatter vinyl looks great. Really nice package overall.

Personally, I think tapes are dumb. They sound flat with no dynamic and don't personally see the appeal as far as releases go. Maybe i'm old school when DEMO TAPES were appropriate which is essentially what HVR is doing. But lets face it. I don't see Sony or anyone going back into the Walkman business. Just my two cents. Not saying anyone is right or wrong. Just an opinion and the reason i ALWAYS pass on tapes.

I HAVE FLIPPED THE SEAFOAM GREEN DEVIL AND GOD FOR $92 BECAUSE BRAND NEW FANS ARE FUCKING IDIOTS. SATAN OUT.

For example, the reason I have almost -500 on my profile is because back in the day, I bought a TDAGARIM red /666 copy for 80 bucks, thinking that another copy I ordered for face value didn't come through. Turns out, they both did. I then tried to unload my $80 one, what I paid, and I was labeled a flipper without any recourse or ability to justify myself and now whenever I post people insult me and call me a flipper. It's my money, I spent it, and it's my item at that point - the fact that people think they can tell me what I can sell it for is literally the most pretentious thing I've ever heard.

I think rewiring will be one of the last things I do. Still a bit scary to me I set the suspension this morning after your encouragement (thanks). It went really well - tighter more present low end and more clarity overall. I'm coming around to your opinion of the vintage tables, in the past I've definitely encouraged friends to get new pro-ject tables, but my experience with this Thorens will at least make me rethink that advice. I still think for a novice a plug and play Pro-ject might be the way to go, since this Thorens definitely takes some know-how to get to a good place. I'm really happy I took the plunge. Wtf with the prices?

My first record player was one of my dads hand me downs with the caveat of if I broke it I learned to fix it myself, although that was around 4 or 5 so 2 does sound a little early for the school of hard knocks to start. My own not so little girl (11) has known about music and hifi and record players since being a baby and although has always had her own system has never really shown a great deal of interest in having her own record player, which is something I have worried about constantly and sought medical advice about but fixed by buying myself more records and record players
