  1. Ordered through Bullmoose and it should be here today. I really wish this was getting the proper treatment it deserves. They could have done some really cool stuff with the whole letter design and just put a lot more effort into it. I would have gladly paid another $10 for something better than what they put out but this is in my top 5 favorite albums so I was going to pick it up either way. I would say that I wish BC was doing it but with the last album being such a clusterf**k I don't think I'd really want them to handle it. My test press bundle from the crowd fund was supposed to have an alt jacket for the vinyl and it was of course the regular jacket. The variant was supposed to be a limited contributor only variant and then they released that same variant on their webstore and people were getting it before the crowd funding people were. The test press didn't even have any kind of jacket at all and just came in the poly bag that the normal vinyl came in. To say I was disappointed by how it was all handled would be an understatement and how the band acted about it all was even more disappointing... Edit: I just realized I wrote a book. I apologize.

  7. Not terribly impressive, but I'm pretty happy with how my pg.99 collection is coming along. If you're interested in helping: https://deadformat.net/collection/Cpaskous/wants. Particularly interested in pink Document #2, vampire Document #8 (the red and black one), European Document #8, screenprinted Document #7, and Document #1 (lol). Also any test presses.

  11. Alright, so I had some thoughts on a simple insert that I could provide the files for, and you could print out anywhere you like for less than $2. I was thinking something that is a standard 11x17" GLOSS PAPER that you would fold in half. File would be printed in black and white to stay on theme, and keep costs down. One side has all of the lyrics, and the very important dedication to Timothy Jordan II that is SOMEHOW LEFT OUT of this. (unreal) The other side is a take on the tunnel pic inside the original liner notes, and used for the album art from "The EP" - this is not the same tunnel, but just an idea inspired from that. It then features the line from the end of Timothy - "Take me back to where I was before I was born." Since anywhere you take this to for printing would not be able to do full bleed, I kept everything with a white background, and textures that do not bleed over the edge. Nothing would have to be fit to page, nothing would have awkward print lines around the edges, and as I said before, cheap, easy, and sharp. General look at both sides: This would be the lyric side: Here's closer detail: Here's the tunnel side: and closer detail: NOTHING is used from the original layout, nothing is stolen from the original artist. Since I would just be providing the print files needed to print this, there would be no money exchanging hands, so I can't imagine this being anything that would get anyone in trouble, just something to enhance a product alot of us care about so much. Let me know what you think, and if you have any suggestions / recommendations / better ideas!

    Got a few questions

    1. if the record is dirty clean it as it could damage your stylus and record... 2. the needle does damage the record if its incorrectly setup.. tracking force needed for that cart should be around 1.5 - 2.5 g set TF to somewhere in those parameters (1.8g is probably the best) and you will get a long life out of playing the record... please note you will need to do other things to prolong record life ie storage, cleaning etc (search function is a good one 3. its a dirty record clean it.. with a clean record you will get the odd crackle but nothing major... 4. you will need to look at the manual... i have no idea about that turntable... some TT have pitch control i dont know if this does though. have fun with it ... like i said before too alot of this can be found with search

  29. For what it's worth, I caught them on Saturday night at a similarly large venue (complete with upper balconies) and they've never sounded better. It was my fourth[?] time seeing them, including a few cozy venues. I think you'll be pretty pleased. The riffs, especially, shined like no other.

  35. RE: SALT tapes wasn't trying to get anyone's hopes up was just trying to put the information out there We made 100 random colored cassettes, but we didn't sell any of them - wanted to get it out there though so I threw it into some orders for free. I love 'nintendo 64' and 'not so tough' was originally trying to release a cassette of unreleased songs but Alex didn't want to, instead he sent over SALT. I like when our cassette releases have balanced A/B sides and also to include little extras which is why there is an extra track on the cassette I believe the file was just called "chicken". Was meant more as a promotional item for his next record, which obviously we didn't end up releasing so these tapes never went up in the store - wouldn't feel comfortable sellin em. I just wouldn't spend too much money trying to get one. Just counted and I have 86 so I'll see if Alex wants anything to do with em http://i.imgur.com/M3dmdfM.jpg

  37. I know what you're getting at, and if I were in the states then I would 100% buy this without hesitation, but, for me it's probably gonna end up costing almost double because of shipping, import tax, and the mandatory customs handling charge of around £10. In fact I just did a quick estimate and it's potentially gonna cost in the region of $150 for me to get this.... Guess my circumstances are a little different to most of you guys, but that's why I'm on the fence. That price is making me question whether it's worth it. Those with free shipping in the US: Think yourselves lucky!

  44. Gotta love the post-post-ethics online world. Mix in some cynicism with a little feeling of helplessness and add a dash of non-self-awareness and you have young people who thinks they're turning the entire game on its head and being novel by vouching for the d-bag party in every online conversation. #VCin2015

  46. I registered here because of this thread, and I've just scrolled through the whole thing looking for inspiration. Some of you guys have some great storage ideas! I may steal some. Here's where I started: Those shelves are cheap things I bought at Target. I much preferred this storage setup in terms of room aesthetics. Unfortunately, they weren't up to holding all of those records, plus a heavy integrated amp and a 25 lb. turntable (I don't own either of those anymore) on top. The left one eventually got bumped and pretty much crumbled. So, I plucked out all of my rougher records and dupes to slim down the library, and went to this for storage: Solid plywood bookcase with oak veneer I found on craigslist. It had removable shelves and wouldn't have been strong enough that way, so I shot and sunk 3" brass screws into the end of every shelf. Now it's solid as a rock and holds the weight without a hint of strain. I don't like the way this looks though.
