I truly don't mean this in an offensive way to you, thebiglebowski, in any way, and I'm not saying there needs to more immigration (I think it's a very complex answer with no straightforward answer). BUT, that statement is very uninformed, ignorant, and around the wrong company could be quite offensive. As a Manager at several different workplaces in several different industries, and as a data collection manager for the government regarding immigrants and their education the idea that they are all (or even as a majority) unskilled laborers is simply incorrect. The reason they end up in all of the unskilled jobs is not that they themselves are unskilled, but that their education does not correlate/is not recognized in north america. The majority of the immigrants I've worked with or surveyed had skills to offer that our over regulated industries would not accept. Please know that I'm not saying that regulations should be relaxed, again it's a very complex issue without a straightforward answer. EDIT: I still feel like this is worded too strongly, it's really not flamebait or an invitation to argue. I just truly think that many people are misinformed when it comes to this point. There are tons of Doctors, Engineers, Scientists, etc, that drive cabs, own gas stations, and work at corner stores because their education is not recognized and they don't have the means to go through school again.

I'm finally getting around to post what my current record area looks like. My wife and I live in a small Miami apartment so this is actually our dining room area too (complete with wine rack). The 7" collection has been moved to a set of shelves in the "office" area of the main room. My setup has gone through a ton of changes over the years. Here's a look. 2012-2014 2011 2009-2010 2008-2009 2008 and before don't have photos because it was nothing to be excited about. It was a mix of boxes/crappy shelves.

Fuuuuuck off. Seriously. Obviously people know they can cancel their order, but after waiting this long why would they? We're not allowed to vent a little bit about waiting a year after plopping down $100+ for some records? It's cool that you have your copy of AWRH, but that doesn't change the fact that it's frustrating for those still waiting on their stuff to get very little communication regarding this purchase. Add to that the fact that if these are really meant to be "bonuses for waiting so long," how did they pop these fuckers out so quickly compared to the stuff we're actually waiting on? Doesn't add up, does it? Add to that the fact that a lot of people ordered the bundle specifically for the "purty lookin' Moneen variant," (guilty because I'm a sucker) and they've been showing up in regular orders, possibly making it so that some of the bundles may not get them... Yeah, seems pretty reasonable to let off a little bit of steam about how poorly these releases have been handled. Edit: Just to be clear, I'm not even all that angry about the wait and all that shit. It's a minor annoyance, but it's whatever.

The world was a pretty different place in 1900. America was being developed, the industrial revolution was in full swing, and we needed labor. Now that we are a developed country for the most part, there isn't a need for an indefinite amount of labor. We actually need to go in the other direction or we are going to destroy the planet -- produce less, consume less, and do things in a smarter, more environmentally friendly way. The skills the illegal immigrants bring don't help us in this direction. The legal ones frequently do, though.

The whole illegal immigration thing seems like such a smoke-screen issue. If your job is in danger of being taken by an uneducated, non-english speaker, a fence isn't going to solve your problems. If people were really worried about it, they would go after the employers using defacto slave labor. It's just a convenient scapegoat to avoid addressing the real job issues in the US. The reality is that efficiencies put us in a place where it takes fewer people to produce all the stuff and services that all the people need. People cling to full time employment for various reasons, but health insurance is a big one. Decouple healthcare services from employment and see what happens. You may find that the free market solves the problem by eroding the 40 hour work week.

I'm totally fine with immigrants coming into the country - its how this country was formed, but in my opinion they need to come in legally. Yes the current system sucks and should be addressed, but he is right an illegal immigrant is still illegal anyway you slice it. The current system should be addressed/fixed, and the immigration laws should be enforced.

I honestly don't get why people feel like they need to come on to the release thread for an artist they don't like, just to talk about how they don't like them and why the artist is bad. Like if you don't like Kanye West, fair enough. Not everyone's cup of tea. But why the hell are you here complaining about him??? Do people on here just get off on making people feel bad about the artists they like? Do people just hate the artist that much? I think that's a big part of the negative attitude on this site is just people going on releases from artists they don't like, not even listening to the album/project, but still complaining about how bad the artist is. Like why is that necessary.

I always wonder if companies who "can no longer offer health insurance because of ACA" are passing the savings on to their employees. The company I work for (a large health insurance company) pays about $385 per single employee on our group plan. I would expect that number to be higher for a smaller non-health insurance company. If a company simply stops offering coverage, the right thing to do would be to pass their saving on to the employee to offset their new burden, but I think a lot of places just pocket it.

I do not want healthcare separated from workplace. We had to use the marketplace for healthcare this last year for a period and it was more expensive, did less for us, and we are still waiting for forms to do our taxes. My experience with it has been a mess. Healthcare for us worked a lot better provided by the workplace.

Again, new song is kinda meh. I fell in love with m83 with no vocals so I don't know how I feel about songs that depend on them. They are missing emotion. EDIT: On second listen it starts really strong. But when the drums kick in its kinda cheesy.

Weighed in yesterday. After a week of getting back on the train, and eating correctly to the best of my ability at work, I'm down 11 lbs. I was holding so much fucking water though, knew the first bit would just drop off. Another 35 to go. It's been a lot easier getting back into it than I thought. Done 30-45 minutes HIIT cardio each night (apart from Wednesday). My strength has taken a hit though, not lifting on a regular has taken its toll. DL down to 170kg (final set, working up from 60kg) for a double. Was 210kg for a double (working up again). Bench is down to 80kg for 6 from about 110kg. It's gunna be a rough road ahead but i'm enjoying it and taking each session with focus. That's what matter's, right? Sounds like everyone in here is on track!

Got into a big fight with my gf of a year tonight. Trying not to overreact but we may not be able to fix this one. Don't think I'm gonna get a lot of sleep tonight. I'm really happy with her 99% of the time. She has another side that comes out the other 1% though that is really sassy and aggressive. It's not always alcohol related but that promotes it. Despite me sometimes voicing strong opinions on here and not being afraid to call people out, in real life I try and stay mostly mellow, positive, and avoid conflict. Occasionally she would say things to friends and family that would make me cringe a little bit but for the most part I'd just try and quash it instead of really addressing it. It wasn't until someone kinda had a talk with me and pointed out the problem that it really started to grow into something I felt like I had to call her out on. That happened tonight. I'd like to give her a chance to work on this. No one is perfect (including me) and if you admit a problem and work on it, things can get better. There's still a part of me, though, that thinks this is just part of who she is. She may be able to keep it under wraps in the short term but if we end up married later on, it would eventually come out again. And where it's going to eventually end up is having a wife that has a contentious relationship with my friends and/or family. That's not what I want. For right now, just trying not to overreact and take a step back to reevaluate.

overall, i like both songs. i think the first track is better. im not too crazy about that thrashy riff in doomed user though - just doesnt seem to fit the rest of the song.

I disagree with the fact capitol Kid A sounds like shit, my copy sounds terrific. So to summarize is Hail to ththe Thief and the Bends on the same level as Kid A?
