  1. Here's my Grouper collection: Top left copy is the clear /100 variant of Way Their Crept, Cover The Window And Walls is the black marbled variant. Bottom right is the artist edition of Helen's last LP /75.

  2. I'm listening to the full album again tonight, reading through all the lyrics. Legitimately did not connect the title of this album with the diagnosis of stage four cancer. I know that's what the album's about, but for some reason it didn't click in my head until I heard the lyric in "Displacement". It broke my heart. I'm sure this is old news, I just wanted to share. I can't get over this album.

  3. Additionally, I'm inquiring about if this is a standard repress, and if they'd let Sly do an exclusive variant.

  4. Morning all. At the last minute I said fuck it and went to the GUK show. I'm glad I did, because they were really damn good. I really enjoyed myself, which I need right now. The first opener was a local band, kinda generic 2006ish music, and Brick and Mortar were terrible. No way anyone likes that sort of music. At least they had a semi-decent stage presence, but the laptop "player" was way over the top and annoying.

  6. Kind of wish they had made them solid pink and blue, to at least keep it a bit different from the original press. Oh well, now more people get to enjoy how good looking this pair is together.

  7. Got my 10th Anniversary Sam's Town today. Listened through it just now. Definite improvement over the CD, which I played a bit here and there, switching between both. Much better clarity and separation in the mids with clear and strong bass. I'm not sure if it's my system, but things sounded great until it got really loud and congested, like on This River Is Wild, and When You Were Young and it all seemed to fall apart. I felt like I was hearing a lot of noise and/or distortion during these parts of songs. Otherwise, clear upgrade in sonics. LPs are in cardboard "sleeves" in book, which really could have used a few more pages. Well, really there are no pages. Why not? It's the 10th anniversary edition! No essays on the band, or the making of the record, vault photos, nothing! Just the credits on the sleeves. My LPs looked like they came from a thrift store shelf just stored in the cardboard jacket. Scuffs all over the playing surface and the edges of both records looked scuffed all around the edges. What the hell? After a clean, there was no improvement on the looks, but thankfully I didn't have egregious noise, but there was slight surface noise with a fair share of stray pops and clicks, but thankfully not enough to ruin the experience. The unreleased song was a great addition, but I didn't even get through the terrible dance mix bonus track. I would have preferred they leave that off and moved the songs across the four sides. Not a big deal as I just don't have to play and it's at the end. im definitely going to revisit this release again before I make a judgement, but right now it feels cool, but not great. And it could have and should have been great.

  8. They're here!!! I picked up the package today. It'll be a bit before I have time to get everybody's stuff out.... I'm going to try to start getting them all ready to go Friday night. But it might not be until sometime next week that i get them in the mail. School and work, man. But they're here! I haven't even opened them yet.

  9. I voted for Gore, Kerry, Obama twice and Sanders in the Primary. Debbie Wasserman whatever called the election for Hillary the day before the CA primary was held. I still went anyway even though she essentially made my vote useless. I was so happy when she resigned in disgrace. I can't wait to see the new chairwomen go down in flames for feeding debate questions to Hillary in advance. Will her best friends at CNN even question her about it? Doubtful, any investigation could expose them for being involved. The Democratic party I believed in back in my 20s was a terrible lie. After reading these emails I will never vote for a Democrat with any ties to the Clinton's or their agenda.

  10. That's great. Really happy for them because they deserve it. They constantly push the boundaries and it definitely shows on this album. It's so dang catchy and every member stEpped up big time.

  11. The Democrats have somehow twisted the the media into becoming the fourth branch of government. They are working for the White House whether they realize it or not. They are selling a message that America is racist, poor, and controlled by evil old white men who keep all the money. Democrats are the party of unity, and republicans are the party of rich white racists. I'm sorry, but that is just not true. It's a disgusting lie actually. Of course there are bad people out there with awful beliefs, but they don't represent any large portion of America. According to HRC Saudi Arabia and Qatar are funding ISIS and other radical Sunni groups. They also donate tens of millions of dollars to Clinton's foundation. That is pretty scary to think about. It's not impossible to think the Clinton's are being influenced by the same people who are influencing the destruction of Western Civilization. Maybe she will blame Thomas Jefferson for this one.

  17. Astronoid “Air” LP Pre-order: mid-October, 2016. Release: December 2nd, 2016. The hard-earned vinyl release of Astronoid "Air." Relatively obscure upon release, Astronoid wound up being discussed in most major metal blogs as the band to watch in 2016. A massively impressive debut has led in only a few months time to nearly 800 Bandcamp collections + a nearly sold out CD first-pressing. Requested hundreds of times ... Astronoid will now hit wax for the first time ever. * “Air” on heavyweight 180-gram+ LP. * Mastered specifically for vinyl from the original mixes by the band themselves. * Heavyweight 350gsm single-pocket jacket and printed inner sleeve, including the lyrics available for the first time-ever. Layouts done by the band themselves. * Vinyl colors: - OPAQUE SKY BLUE & WHITE SWIRL [65 copies USA/Canada, 135 copies Rest of the World] - OPAQUE SKY BLUE [65 copies USA/Canada, 135 copies Rest of the World] - BLACK [55 copies USA/Canada, 95 copies Rest of the World]

  23. sorry for the lag, Secret Santa! Hi! I'm Cesar. I'm 28, turning 29 in November, and live in Los Angeles. I'm a Content Producer for a ticketing company so I'm always around music and sports. It's pretty awesome. I really do love all kinds of music, it's insane. Top 10 favorite bands/acts are (in no order) ; Thrice, Against Me!, Descendents, Deftones, Smashing Pumpkins, Atmosphere, MxPx, Ceremony, Neutral Milk Hotel and Radiohead. I really, REALLY enjoying watching movies. I sometimes even go see one by myself. I find it really soothing, as weird as that sounds. Action, Comedy, Thriller, Horror/Suspense, chick flicks, I really love them all. I don't read as much as I should/want to but I will read a good book and will take my time with it. The last book I read I got for Xmas last year and I barely finished it about a month ago. Like I said, I'll read it but extremely slow. I am a smoker. I know I should quit but I don't quit! haha, awful joke I know. Black American Spirits are my brand. Have always been. I do drink as well, but not too much. I've had the same 6 pack of beer in my fridge for about a month now so that should tell you something HA! I do watch TV but I'm mainly into reruns (SEINFELD). Lately I've finally gotten into some great shows (all the Netflix ones, you know what they are. everyone does!) that finally caught my attention. Oh, and I'm also HUGE into wrestling (WWE/WWF & NJPW, not that TNA crap). If you want to dig into more of what I like and do on a daily basis, my IG handle is: ceserrano I hope this helped out, SS! Thanks!

  25. I was informed that the deluxe is sold out already? Absolutely insane considering how long the blue marble "deluxe" variant of H&NE stuck around for – it may actually still be available, truth be told. Makes me wonder how many they're going to press this time around. I haven't checked out the single just yet and I'm not certain I will before the release date. But it's really cool to see some love for H&NE. I feel like most outlets either panned that album or gave it a lukewarm review at best, insisting that it was too scattered. It does have a sort of mixtape-feel to it at times, but I couldn't put it down when it was released and I still don't feel compelled to skip a single song on it.

  40. Just to clear up some confusion... I believe "Speak the Truth" consists of Buddy Neilsen (Senses Fail), Daniel Wonacott (Finch), Alex Linarez (Finch), and Alex Pappas (Finch). Last I heard, Randy Strohmeyer had moved to Boston w/ his wife and was working on opening a studio to start producing bands, and Nate Barcalow has a new project w/ a buddy of mine named Kenny Finn (Just Eleanor). I haven't heard anything beyond the music that they already posted, but I talk to Pappas and Wonacott pretty regularly and they are both really excited about it. I'll ask them what they are planning as far as vinyl releases go.

  41. I took advantage of all the Hastings going out of business and scored these racks for $100. If you've got the room I highly recommend pillaging a Hastings for some. The drawers each have two rows. The bottom ones weirdly aren't tall enough for LPs (they're like a half inch too short), but they fit three rows of 7"s pretty perfectly. Very stoked on this shit...

    Westworld (HBO Show)

Yep, during the scene with "Paint It Black" all I could think was how sick the special edition 2xLP picture disc box set is going to look on my shelf. So far I like the show. I don't know how I'll feel in a couple episodes because I already feel like there isn't enough to keep the intrigue going for a full season of hour long episodes. I got the impression that this premise would be more successful as a double episode of Black Mirror. But we'll see, Ed Harris seems pretty cool.

  44. So far, I'm on the fence with this album. Circumambulation hasn't been exactly revelatory to my ears and didn't stand the test of time too well, compared to their early material. Now Avvolgere is a mild disappointment, even when compared to its direct predecessor. I can't really put my fingers on what it is I dislike, or if there's anything to dislike at all, I guess I'm just very indifferent to their newer output. Which is a shame, really, considering just how much I used to celebrate them early on and enjoy their first records still.
