  1. As shitty as that is, I'm grateful that the moderators had the decency to ban him, and I quite enjoy not having to read his posts. I also like to imagine him staring longingly at this thread while shivering on the outside, in the same irrelevant isolation as the bots and guests who can't be bothered to register. I'm confident he's still frequenting this thread on the off-chance a mystery batch will pop up, allowing him to grab a few more to flip. That being said – hi, Halo 2. Just wanted to remind you that you're a shitty tryhard dork of a pasty white kid, and your terrible tastes and ethics are a byproduct of the fact your parents never loved you. Happy holida[aayy]ys.

  3. Point 1. Haha! Point 2. Exactly. For the record, there are non-black color variants that I AM fond of. But I find most color variants to be over the top and annoying looking. I also hate that there are records that are released in more than 4 variants and nowhere in there could they fit a black one. I also think that pressing on 180g and higher is an irresponsible waste of materials. I like many of the albums that they have exclusives for. I just don't like their tactic and I like even less that it works so well.

  7. This just got repressed!! On another alt cover with a pretty cool matching variant. http://solidstate.merchnow.com/products/v2/245207/messengers-blackorange Only 500 available, pretty sure. They'll go pretty quick!

  8. To my ears, they are not bad, but nothing stands out as unique or worthy of owning vinyl. Certainly better than 98% of the musical universe, but... milquetoast postrock 3-4/10. How did Lost In Kiev get dragged into a Pray For Sound thread??? Except to say there is a polarity of like vs dislike of the music by postrock fans, which is the total subjectivity of muscial taste to begin with. I don't see them anywhere near each other in the postrock spectrum re: sound. Nuit Noire has reached 8.5/10 for sure, while pg.lost has sort of stalled around 7.5-8/10. This is about my threshold for purchasing vinyl in the past couple of years.

  9. tracking showed my two bundles got delivered Friday. looked everywhere and no package. waited a couple days went to the PO and asked about it there. they just told me to file a claim then this morning someone buzzes my apartment and lo and behold they have my box! stupid USPS man delivered it a whole 10 buildings down from mine. smh. so glad some kind person noticed it sitting there and decided to bring it to me 10" Consumed - Breakfast at Pappa's Snuff - Blue Gravy Swingin Utters - The Sounds Wrong EP 12" Against Me! - From Her Lips to God's Ears Avail - Front Porch Stories Bracket - Live in a Dive Diesel Boy - Venus Envy Dogpiss - Eine Kleine Punkmusik Fluf - Road Rage Fabulous Disaster - Put Out Or Get Out Joey Cape - Bad Loud Joey Cape - Doesn't Play Well With Others Old Man Markley - Down Side Up Only Crime - To The Nines Screeching Weasel - Bark Like a Dog Screeching Weasel - First World Manifesto Strung Out - Prototypes and Painkillers Sundowner - Neon Fiction Tilt - Viewers Like You pretty stoked this actually turned up! especially considering what wound up being in that box. a few things I already have, a few things I need to give a listen to and see how I feel about them, but def a lot of keepers in there. and @curator this was also in there and you get first dibs as promised

  10. So it started with the idea of just us dudes auctioning off our own personal records for charity but quickly morphed into other labels wanting to get involved since it's all for a good cause. Recordnerdz first official charity auction! All proceeds will go to Planned Parenthood. Rare records and test pressings from Fugazi, Jimmy Eat World, Sun Kil Moon and a lot more. . Special thanks to the bands and labels who donated some great stuff. http://bit.ly/RecordNerdz

  11. To be fair you basically hate all colored vinyl, McPherson. That's like your VC shtick. But yeah, Newbury is all about annoyingly charging steep prices for a colored variant of records that are readily available for cheap, and this is no exception. I actually imported a colored variant of this same album over a year ago, and even with international shipping it was cheaper than NC's base price.

  14. To be fair, the discogs prices for the EP are hardly "inflated." I was expecting different when I clicked the link. The markup after shipping paid for the PO isn't even $10.

  15. Who cares what people decide to do with their own copies on another site? They wanted a copy when they were available, had the funds, bought it, and for some reason when the pre-order finally arrived (yes, it was a couple months, not an insta-buy) they decided they would like to sell it (for idk, maybe xmas presents? medical expenses? who knows?) so what? might as well start pointing fingers at everyone on discogs selling anything limited that was released recently (or all-time for that matter) because fuck them and what ever is happening in their lives, right? survive/stranger things are hyped to shit right now if anyone hasn't already noticed and this repress probably wouldn't exist without that rise in popularity. yea, it wasn't a lot of copies to go around but you can't jump to grabbing pitchforks when people/shops don't sell records to you and/or your friends, directly, at absolute retail pricing, after it is sold out and in relatively high demand. It would be nice and sometimes it does happen, but unfortunately that is not the world we currently live in.

  19. https://www.hhv.de/shop/en/item/blue-sky-black-death-x-s-a-s-celestial-deluxe-blue-colored-vinyl-edition-487634 Anything BSBD touches is gold, only 500 copies so I'd jump on it if you're a hip hop fan.

  20. I do love me some BSBD, but I can't get into anything that they have artists perform over. Getting lost in the hazy soundscapes of NOIR is something magical, and I guess it's just spoiled me – I feel like vocal deliveries are such a distraction on top of their music. Stoked for those who are stoked on this, though.

  21. ITTCT is embarrassingly high, but outside of that I spy a lot of stellar picks on that list. On the subject of lists, the lady forwarded this list to me the other day – and pointed out that some of the comments were quick to point out a lack of Caspian – but I thought it was an interesting read. I feel like it's a little more favorable of late 90 and early 00 acts, but still good stuff.

  27. I'm looking out west as well - Portland was pretty fun, and maybe I'm odd for thinking this, but it felt like a very small, comfortable city. Wouldn't mind living there for a bit. Seems like the midwest is just going that direction of slow growth or even decline, sadly. Good luck to you on the job and house-front! Stretch those legs!
