    Song missing...?

All albums pressed on vinyl are missing at least one song. It's just how they're made. Theyre currently working on making all LP's 13" to fix this problem.

    Song missing...?

Previous owner must have used up all the plays for that song.

    Song missing...?

the first version of horse with no name was omitted because while the band was on tour prior to the album release, the drummer's grandmother accidentally named the horse they wrote the song about. fearing it would be a false interpretation of the song's true meaning, it was pulled last second. it seems like you may have one of these copies, if so, it's worth a considerable amount of money and you should probably get it professionally appraised.

    Song missing...?

Something must have happened while ripping the MP3s onto the Vinyl-RW. You know what they say, "America: Always one song short of an album"

  6. This topic is giving me such a woody. I collected fiercely in the 1990s, in retrospect the best time possible since everybody was dumping LPs. I'd spend $100 or $200 at Jerry's in Pittsburgh or the various stores in Chicago, DC, the East Village, Vancouver, London, San Francisco ... and I'd come away with more LPs than I could carry. Sometimes I had to find a UPS drop-off before I got back on a plane. (There were no UPS Stores back then.) The first of two kids arrived in 1999 and they took most of my time, so I've barely bought any vinyl in the last 15 years. But for her 17th birthday last year the older one got an RP-1 she can take to college ("university" for those outside the US), along with 50 or 60 duplicates from my stash. Seriously, nobody should leave home without Blood on the Tracks and Astral Weeks (green label, natch) at the very least. I've bought a few things here and there when I find nice stuff for less than $25 or even less than $20 per disk. (Seriously? $25 for a single LP? WTH?!) I'm lucky enough to work from home, and we have a semi-finished attic, so the first shot is the view from my desk, and once or twice a day I climb into the chair to listen to one side as a break. Rock and pop is on the left; jazz, blues, and a small batch of classical live on the right. We old guys have a lot of the gems, like the original Art Pepper on the rack to the left above the 'table. Warms my heart that so many youngsters are keeping vinyl alive. https://imgur.com/08cq7ZW https://imgur.com/SCXQ6Kj https://imgur.com/VmTbgSk By the way, the plural of vinyl is "vinyl." You no more pick up "vinyl" (with an s) than you pick up "fishes" at the market for dinner. Stop me gnashing my teeth. Please. Be good, kids. Enjoy what you've got. These are good times for music, if for little else. If anybody cares: VPI Aries I with Lyra Helikon cartridge, Rowland Capri preamp, Rowland 102 amp (for summer), Mac Mini file server with Schiit Modi Multibit DAC and two hard drives (one a mirror of the other, backed up every day at 4AM), Quicksilver Audio Silver Sixty mono amps with stock EL-34s (for the cool months), Scansonic 2.5 speakers, Sunfire sub, DIY DH Labs cabling throughout. CDs in the background are all ripped to the server now, along with about 2000 live shows by various groups, especially the Grateful Dead. Anybody want the little silver disks?

  7. @The Ghost of Randy Savage whoa, who do you think you are recommending music 'round these parts? You obviously don't pop in here that often. You need to know what this thread is truly for: Gumbo updating us on the records he has on the way, what he paid for said records, which records got damaged in shipment, complaining about said damage, what labels he tries to get free stuff from even though the carrier damaged the record in the first place, trying to get us to join group buys even though they end up being more expensive than buying it yourself, telling us how many CDs he buys and which one is currently in his car, what bands he bothers on FB, which bands ignored him or took too long to get back to them (how dare they have lives), all while going on random tangents with drunken metaphors that make us hit our forehead on the table right after we say 'oh for fucks sake' out loud. How fucking dare you, John. This is the final straw.

  11. Finally finsihed my AC/DC Japanese pressing collection when Who Made Who arrived yesterday. Unfortunately, it's not a complete discography since no albums were pressed after Blow Up Your Video. One of the Highway To Hell and Blow Up Your Video dupes are white label promo's.

  13. Some third party seller on amazon had 2 copies of this on vinyl for $8.96. Grabbed one, and was planning to post about it when I got home but seems it sold already. Here's to hoping it's not actually a CD!

  19. *Jesus this interface sucks on mobile!* Let's back track a bit here, especially before we delve too deep into making character assessments of people we've never talked to before... I may have misunderstood the argument @jesse and @Carly Rae Jepsen and trying to make. Are you guys under the impression that me or another user here can prove, with out the shadow of a doubt, that the Obama administration spied on Donald Trump? Haha. I said it's likely, of course I don't absolutely know for sure and either way the truth wouldn't change the disdain I have for both of them. If leaning hard into being independent and not trusting either the left or the right makes me arrogant then fuck it. I'm not looking to have anyone agree with me or think the same way I do, and I'm not interested in making other people's problems my problems (unless it's VC community related of course ;). Always down to voluntarily help or hear an argument that's backed with intellectual ideas, not going to read 5 paragraphs about why I should/shouldn't use specific terms you guys don't like.

  23. A Rega Planar 3 is most certainly an upgrade over a Debut Carbon. As far as a phono preamp goes, I highly recommend the Lounge. It is musical bliss. I've had one for a little over a year and it was $300 well spent. When I was researching before I went with the Lounge, I read the Vincent sounds flat. Also read some other poor reviews. If you are deciding between those 2 preamps, it's a no brainier for me.

    PopMarket Closed

It means either they will ship your order "next week" or be in touch "soon after" to tell you they cannot fulfill your order. I'd keep that dispute open unless you can open a new one on the same paypal transaction...

  33. If you do Voodoo, I also suggest hitting either Tonalli's or Pip's as comparisons! I think both are better than Voodoo overall, maybe even Blue Star.

  34. There are a few really great record stores, the Chinese Rose Garden is pretty neat, but I'm not sure this time of year. The Japanese Garden is pretty cool and last time we went it was around this time of year. Couple really great places to eat depending what you're in the mood for. Powell's Books is pretty cool, Voodoo Donuts is probably worth a visit, but there are better joints around town in my opinion. If there isn't a Killer Burger in Seattle, that's worth a stop!

  35. I'm going to lay down the gauntlet and say that if you haven't heard the label's newest re-release, Midori Takada's Through The Looking Glass you don't deserve the GITS OST, since that OST could not exist if it weren't for it. Also because it is one of the best ambient albums of all time (although it's also relentlessly percussive).

  43. There are only 2 releases that I'm really keeping an eye out for. What kinda sucks though is my local store always jacks up the prices of RSD releases. It's only about $5-10 more, but it still kinda sucks that they do that. I could take the hour drive to a better store and save the money, but it's much, much busier and I'dhave to show up almost a whole day early. People are nuts.

  46. Very excited to see this happening. Kudos to the team and especially Shitty Rambo. I think for the very reason that it will unclog some of the other boards and move those PO's, bits of news and label discussions to a centralized area, it will benefit the vinyl-only collectors as well. I don't see how this can be a bad thing other than conflicting with the name of the site. Some might say that's the most important thing, keeping it vinyl, but honestly the tape discussions have been happening regardless. They just moved 'em.
