  2. So I guess Tooth and Nail is repressing this. According to the Labeled podcast, it's 3 variants /1000 and should be on the T&N website next week.

  4. Regarding the Roads To The North and Autumn Eternal represses, here's an interview with Marty from Bindrune (Panopticon's label) done in March of this year. The response to the final question is an outline on the planned label release schedule for this year, of which those represses are listed (among many other cool impeding releases). That said, again, this interview was conducted in March. Since then, he's gone through some serious family stuff, which makes it obvious that the label is likely forced to slow down a bit (as is reasonable given the circumstances). So it might be a bit before it actually comes to fruition. Side note: I'd love for Bindrune to do a Revisions Of The Past "part 2", covering the self titled debut and Collapse. Collapse, in particular, is an outstanding underrated record.

  9. They are only touring for money and this record was only for money. Once you understand that it's easier to not get mad. At least the record is good.

  11. Order arrived today. Very well packed in a large enough box with ample bubblewrap. No cardboard backing/stiffener. But hey. No Lost Highway 2xLP. They shorted my order. Now begins the ordeal of contacting them and seeing how promptly they respond and rectify. It was all too good to be true.

  14. They cancelled the Chicago date because they were offered to play Riot Fest. Playing the fest of course comes with a clause that they can't perform within a certain distance from Chicago for a two or three month period. Assuming they were going to make much more from the Riot Fest offer than the ticket sales. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  15. Not sure why, but I'm still shocked that the retail isn't red. I was half expecting them to even at least sell more unsigned red via the store. Maybe if they have leftovers in August...

  16. Watched Raw Sunday night and LOVED it. Fucking awesome. Watched We Are The Flesh a couple night ago. Definitely pretty fucked up but it was shot beautifully and I thought the acting was great. Got my wife and I's tickets to see It Comes At Night this Saturday so I'm super pumped for that.

  24. I'm not sure what the consensus here is but my local shop has told me that he will be getting these for the same prices you see in the shop. Thats why the only thing I've ordered so far is Deviations because were not sure what the cutoff for that is and that one might not make it to stores.

  25. Ten Love Songs was also my album of the year. Should be a good album! I'm not holding my breath for a US release though, there's yet to be one for any of her albums for whatever reason

I don't know what the mock up of the red/white marble variant, but I picked a copy of the record up at my local shop and I really like how it's white but has really faint traces of red. I'm a fan of it for sure.

  35. The vocal thing is what held me back from ISIS (the band) for a long time but I realized that I just like music and I don't really need a human voice with lyrics to interpret the mood of the song for me every second of the song. I've learned to appreciate music with minimal or no vocals at all and while Elder could probably rock the shit with more vocals in certain sections, I've become accustomed to the amount of completely instrumental passages that populates their songs. Maybe its because I've become so comfortable with Russian Circles and never hearing any vocals on top of awesome riffs and grooves that I can tolerate the minute amount of vocals in Elder. There are definitely sections where I think if they had some Mars Volta-esque vocals wailing on top of the music it would be ridiculously sweet but I can handle having just the music and thoroughly enjoying it for what it is.

  39. I read I was exhumed and that kicked the post off in bit of an odd way... Adrift For Days is great. Definitely worth checking out if a more stonery-bluesy Neurosis elicits interest. I think their previous record was criminally overlooked. I bought it on vinyl years ago in fear of it selling out and it's going pretty cheap now everywhere. Also, two month old news but still amazing - Indian is making an album, sans drummer who passed last October but still. Deemed to be killer.

  40. So I'm moving and records are last so I have excess space. That means it's collection photo time so here's a few of my favorite complete discographies that I've hoarded over the years. If I'm missing a record [Pablo Honey] it doesn't count so that ruled out a lot of large artist collections I have that are bigger than these. (I don't have access to my 7"s and 10"s but basically have all of those for each artist too.) The Appleseed Cast Arcade Fire Built to Spill Dreamend Godspeed You! Black Emperor Modest Mouse Prawn Titus Andronicus (lol Local Business really is the red-headed step-child.)

    Mid Year Review

Best so far: The xx Julie Byrne Sampha Jens Lekman Father John Misty Mount Eerie (okay, objectively beautiful and amazing, but so incredibly sad that I cannot ever listen again) Most excited for: HAIM Fleet Foxes Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit The Wrens* (no idea if their album will come out this year. I mostly just hope for it every year)

Oh yeah, I ordered that about a week ago on Amazon DE, together with what seems to be a Trilogy repress. Really great prices too, much cheaper than before. Live 2xLP - 28.99 € (around $30 shipped to US) Trilogy 3xLP - 31.99 € (around $33 shipped to US) This is the Live cover, Trilogy looks to have the first press cover if it's not just a placeholder

I forget where I heard this...but always remember "this too shall pass." That's for the good and the bad. My daughter is six now...my little ginger girl heated up her own pizza in the microwave the other week. She helps me cook. She plays sports. She can flip the records, turn on the TV, plays on her iPad and her Kindle (yes she has both.)... When your kid is a baby, they imprint on you. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to do a lot more for the little one than expected. It took a toll on me, but she's daddy's girl. Remember this too...even when they're 1, 2, etc...they're far more perceptive than you think. There was a six month period when mine didn't ever want to play with me because I was in a bad headspace and I wasn't nice. As daddy, you're never allowed to be too tired or too sick...and you should never want to be. I'm rambling now...I know.

  47. That's not true. Chris was in the band from 98 until his departure in 2000. I remember reading an interview back when Chris left and someone from the band noted that the liner notes stated "all songs written by Further Seems Forever" meaning that everyone had input and helped in every aspect of the album, including songwriting. Plus, those core guys that recorded TMID were in a Florida hardcore band called Strongarm so they were certainly not just the "the Carrabbas."
