Guestroom Records is where it's at now. Incredible selection. If you're into good pizza, Mellow Mushroom on Bardstown is fucking fantastic. I believe it's a chain but I've never seen another one. Gourmet ingredients and tons of good beers and ciders. If you want some local New York style pie, Spinelli's is pretty alright for slice pie, and they'll probably have a good show happening as well. Hope you enjoy Louisville. It's my favorite place I've been, besides Seattle.

The best advice is to read the beginners thread that you're supposed to read before you post. What you buy will be dependent on how much money you're willing to spend. An AT-LP-60 will work, but is not considered a good turntable by any measure and prolonged use will damage your records.

boomkat always packs well. they even say in the description that they always pack well, but if you have a particularly heavy handed postman or fear for your package you can pay the OUTRAGEOUS fee of $2 for them to pack it up extra nice in a higher quality box. this is a great solution for the corner ding babies. they can pay 2 extra bucks and avoid them. i also think it's a nice addition, frankly. If I'm ordering a $120 box set of something and I want it to be protected I think an extra $2 for better packaging is a swell option to have available.

I saw these guys have a UK tour advertised and that they're playing Brixton Academy which is one of London's bigger non arena venues. Very disheartening to think they can still fill a room that size.

I got mine today. I'm not normally one to complain, but Bullmoose did a shitty job of packaging mine. It was just floating around a box that was too big for it and the one corner got dinged.
