  2. The next time you feel compelled to make a "joke" on VC, I'd like to invite you to take a moment and explore the possibility of not posting at all. I think we could really go places with this idea.

  3. Last August we sold our house. Built a new house, finished it in October. Then decided to finish the basement myself. Been without records and audio for 10 months. About 3 weeks ago I finished the basement enough to start moving stuff in. It's a work in progress with still more stuff yet to come from the framers.

  7. Trent Reznor spelled backwards is Ron Zertnert. You can't unknow that. In a parallel universe, Ron is playing happy music in a coffee shop and will never be successful as an artist. But seriously though, I kinda want to spin that Deviations record. I hope it's at my door when I get home from work today.

  8. Expedited/kallax style with a back to them so records can't be pushed too far back. Also a sliding front panel when not in use would be good.

  10. There's still stuff from both of them that I'll listen to, but in my opinion I feel they both had brilliant guitar driven indie albums at the beginning of their careers and both became more fascinated with disco/dance/whatever you want to call it. Of Montreal is essentially unrecognizable from the bedroom 4-track they were putting out in the 90s (which I adore to this day) and I feel Arcade Fire is going down a similar road, especially since Reflektor.

  11. Loved Reflektor, so given the early hate for this I'll probably be thrilled.

  14. Darla records is having a 10% off sale. JULYTEN is the code. just grabbed that Secret Shine along with Crash City Saints. terrific deals on Saint Marie releases (as well as other terrific shoegaze) on already low prices.

  15. Well that's decided, I'm only ever calling him Ron Zertnert from now on.

  16. I recently put 3mm MDF boards on the back of my Expedits for this exact reason.....each board was $5 and was cut to size at the Hardware Store/Bunnings......drilled the corners in and nailed the rest Really was simple and Works wonders

  17. fahhk that is amazing, its like an art gallery. although I7m wondering why you havent got the speakers in the corners of the room? you'd have to be a bazillionaire to have a space like that here in japan. my records sort of outgrew the living room so had to be shifted to another room. Sonab OA14's in each corner and Technics either side. Wife HATES this setup and keeps nagging me to get the amp/TT etc on a vertical RACK in that far corner. FUCK NO. 7"s and relegated speakers in other room tapes are a yes cd's are a no Boring!

  18. @lexicondevil giving that Black Cilice album a listen now, pretty good the production suits it perfectly gives it a softer edge IMO, a little reminiscent of the Angelic Process in terms of production. this album/band is old news but this is probably one of the best I've heard in this depressive/atmospheric style of BM:

  20. HOT PIE! With the world going to shit all around you, its good to know that Hot Pie is there baking is little heart off, bringing carb-filled joy to the masses. Arya acted just like the hound in that scene. Thought she was going to start dropping the cword.

  21. A "Kallax" type shelf that has a "thinner" outline to accommodate more records when the units are placed next to, and on top of each other....BUT a stronger outline than an Expedit....AND some type of "sliding door" on the front that will conceal all the records inside, and keep the spines from being scratched up by the cats.... That would be my "dream" record shelf.
    2 points
  22. I've always dreamed of a Kallax-like shelf, but with the records facing cover out in some type of crate that slides out on brackets so you fan flip through the album covers and slide it back in if that makes sense. The brackets would have to be super heavy duty. That would be awesome.

  24. uber collector? more like a moron. it's a defective vinyl.
    1 point
  25. I found this interesting - some guy on discogs has a clear AYS for sale that has a label defect. Has pics, it's an interesting defect. It's a bummer tho - b/c for such an expensive album, that's a hard sell. You'll never be able to play that side. Only an uber collector would prob consider it. Edit: According to the seller, they've played it on the defect side and it appears to work to a degree... More Pics: http://undergroove.de/collection.php?Artist=1067

i've been on a huge Denzel Curry kick recently, saw BBNG over the weekend at FYF and he came out to perform Ultimate with them and it was amazing. I'll try to upload a vid here over the weekend... Until then, really digging his new 13 EP, this track in particular:

  28. This is besides the fact on whether the album is good or bad, it's that you constantly come to threads and shit on things or tell us your opinion when no one asked. You act like a typical cringy hip-hop fan.

Glad you like too and you're not far off at all! He is actually a Detroit native and was in Bruiser Brigade with D.B. He also was on a track on OLD, i think. I find his vocal flair a little bit different from some others. Here's one more track:

  34. I will have to check that place out the next time I'm in London. Looks killer. ....as for crucial E Wiz albums. I think the most acclaimed are Dopethrone and Come My Fanatics. If you ask around though you'd get differing answers from a lot of people. Personally I love the S/T and Come My Fanatics. We Live would be my number 3 choice.

  36. I looked at my credit card balance and usage this month...not that it was for anything fun...buuuuut.... I'm going to skip buying any vinyl and put that money to my credit card for the month of August. And beer...it's gonna be cheap this month. Thankfully I have Metallica Live At Webster Hall, Ace Frehley Anomaly, Somnium Nox, and a couple others coming to hold me over.

    The Beer Thread

@batman @BuzzersonKillwell Just got back from our VT trip. We weren't able to get outside of Waitsfield after our hike but was able to get my hands on some Sip of Sunshine, Heady Topper, Maine Beer Co - MO and Rock Art's Limited Access at the Village Grocery in town. I grabbed a pint of Hill Farmstead's Edward at Mad Taco and it blew me away. Such a superb APA! Also had Fiddlehead's Second Fiddle DIPA and Drop-In's Heart of Lothian Scottish Brown Ale during dinner at Fire & Ice in Middlebury before we started our hike. Both were really tasty. I was a bit surprised with Heart of Lothian, as it didn't seem to get much love in ratings, etc. Was super fresh/drinkable and had awesome flavor. Thanks for all of the insight and recommendations. Definitely looking forward to getting back up to VT/Maine again next year.
