  2. This album pulls a lot more influence from Kowloon Walled City than any of the other projects. Go check out Grievances and then give Less Art another spin. Hopefully that will help it click!

  10. "Antisocialites – the much-anticipated follow-up to Alvvays’ 2014 self-titled debut – is set for release on September 8th. Across its 10 tracks and 33 minutes the Toronto-based group dive back into the deep end of reckless romance and altered dates. Through thoughtful consideration in basement and abroad, Alvvays has renewed its Scot-pop vows with a powerful new collection of manic emotional collage." Pre-order: http://smarturl.it/antisocialites 180-Gram Dark Blue/Light Blue Starburst (1500 copies) 180-Gram Yellow (Standard) New song (it rocks):

  12. So, I'm the only one on here who thinks the new song is pretty much a yawn? It sounds like a boring Rival Schools song that doesn't go anywhere. It feels so excrementable.

  13. I wonder if they pulled the bundles due to the delay, I can't imagine they truly sold out.

    PO: Pearl Jam reissues

He box is neat if you don't own any of their wax. The box itself is kinda shitty. Especially for $45

  22. Every part of this album is fantastic. Odesza is a master at creating beautiful, cohesive albums. Like the way every song just flows into the next. The singles still are great on their own, but are somehow even better in their intended context.

  23. Soundtrack was great indeed - especially loved hearing The Cure unexpectedly. Hoping that someone is able to pull off a score + soundtrack release but I doubt it ever happens.

  24. I'm feeling pretty doomed out lately unfortunately. I still dig the stuff I have, but it's like a couple of us have said before, it gets to a point where it seems like everyone is just rehashing the same stuff. I need something new and inventive to get me excited! A lot of labels have just priced me out at this point too. I picked up Neil Young - Hitchhiker, the new Zola Jesus (which fucking slayyyyys), a Catherine Wheel reissue, and a Mazzy Star reissue and I think I paid under $18 for each of them. $30+ for the same ole stoner/doom stuff just bums me out at this point. That said, that Ufomammut track is great as usual.

  27. I have 3 copies of DS, clear 1st is full of noises and clicks, Dunk half/half is way better but not at 100%, tour splatter is the best of the 3, just a few noisy moments. According to Translation Loss new plates will be used for the new pressing (DS for sure, didn't ask about TQPOE and Crimea) so hopefully we finally have great sounding copies of the album, it definitely deserves the treatment.

  28. You might find some good recommendations sifting through the query in the link below: http://forums.stevehoffman.tv/search/43485701/?q=Best+reissues&o=relevance&c[title_only]=1 People over there are often concerned with pressing quality and A-Bs of reissues vs. originals. There's also a lot of smartassing and butthurt going on, but that's the internet.

  29. Considering how uninspired their previous effort was, I'm kind of in hesitant to pre-order. Time To Die didn't get much time under the needle.

  30. I think, for people who love/hate/mildly have opinions about Turtleneck, placing it right in the middle was the smartest choice. I like the song and it functions as a nice intermission between both halves of the album. To be nitpicky, it fits in the least as far as the songwriting and production, so I won't begrudge anyone who dislikes it.

  32. Interview with a little backstory here, plus a stream: http://www.npr.org/2017/09/05/547854997/first-listen-husker-du-savage-young-du It sounds optimistic about future reissues, which is good. "Alternate Land Speed Record" had me concerned that they were unable to get anything accomplished with SST. I'd love to hear properly mixed and mastered versions of Zen Arcade & New Day Rising.

  33. I was searching for such a site immediately after the DF email hit, but had no luck. Every branch of "collecting" has their own database, but I couldn't find anything that could help you combine everything you're interested in. As for the pics, I used a chrome extension called Image Downloader. Worked like a charm.
