  2. Real talk: I've picked up a couple Converge records from Hot Topic crazy cheap because (unsurprisingly) people who buy Converge records don't typically pick them up at Hot Topic. Like, cheap enough that I felt like I should PayPal Deathwish $5. Luckily, I know how distribution and retail works so I know DW's cut was in no way impacted by HT's clearance sales. New song is fucking dope as hell. I'm waiting to hear the whole album before picking which lyric shirt I want though.

  4. So do you like this band or something?

  5. That would be silly since my shelves have evenly-spaced supports to distribute the wight across a larger area. Who the hell knows how buildings are made though.

  9. I think that's the point I'm at with all this. I actually really like this new album, but it does lack what made me really love them. It's that post-rocky leaning with all the washy sounds and stuff. I really hope this Hundred Year Ocean LP happens now, I can accept TWIABP being 'different' now if I can still get some of that sweet sweet guitar Nicole brings.

  10. The Solipsis promo material being sent with the first 100 orders is such a big deal. I'm assuming the material in question is this release http://rateyourmusic.com/release/unauth/the_angelic_process/solipsistic/ Which has some absolutely fantastic songs on it, I'm honestly dying to hear how they're going to sound in CD/FLAC quality, considering there's only a low quality version of it available. If I don't get to be one of the first 100 ( Just the thought of it is making me anxious, seriously, The Angelic Process is the best band to ever graze this planet) - I can only hope that they will at least do a Bandcamp digital release of it. There is only one slightly disappointing aspect to this box set so far, and that is the lack of the CD bonus tracks of ...And Your Blood Is Full Of Honey, those tracks being Hang Him Higher and Cages Of Blood And Bone, both of which are absolutely ethereal and brilliant, ugh, I'm getting goosebumps just from mentioning them. https://www.discogs.com/The-Angelic-Process-And-Your-Blood-Is-Full-Of-Honey/release/915184 They released ...And Your Blood Is Full Of Honey with the new artwork on Bandcamp very recently, and as you can see, it's missing the bonus tracks which can be found on the physical CD. https://burningworldrecords.bandcamp.com/album/and-your-blood-is-full-of-honey With that said, I am pumped to finally get my hands on both the debut album and the Sigh EP, I consider that EP to be their very best work, although I'd take any of their material over basically everything else any day of the week. The passing of Kris is the most tragic loss in the history of music as far as I'm concerned, and to see how unkown they really are will forever boggle my mind. They were and still are an absolute treasure and it's simply a pleasure to be among the lucky few to have discovered them. ALSO: That FUCKING explosion of a part at 3:55 of this song. It incinerates your entire face and proceeds to burn away at your soul. A tier of its own which I don't see any artist ever topping.

  12. Also before this gets buried under a wave of bigger less fringe threads Imma just tag a bunch of you regulars who were raving about the re-issue of Weighing Souls in the hope you guys and girls see it. My threads tend to sink. @andi, @Eliminator Jr., @omik11303, @JRHews, @GHOSTDRONES, @anchorlessbodies, @drds89, @ephemeral I'll DM Derek cos his silly ™ makes him hard to tag

  13. So I spotted this through a friend and haven't seen anything about it anywhere yet possibly because the pre-orders not live just yet but according to the net pre-sales start in early October which is only a few days away and the box is supposedly out by December. Burning World Records is set to release a box set of the complete works of cult favourites The Angelic Process on vinyl in December 2017. Included in the box, titled We All Die Laughing, set will be all material the band deemed fit for release starting with … And Your Blood Is Full Of Honey from 2001 and ending with Weighing Souls With Sand from 2007 that was released earlier on vinyl by Roadburn Records (2007) and Burning World Records (2016). The box set will contain: … And Your Blood Is Full Of Honey LP (2001) Coma Waering LP (2003) Sigh EP LP (2006) We All Die Laughing LP (2006) Weighing Souls With Sand 2LP (2007) So 6 slabs of vinyl in total, all with new artwork by Maurice de Jong (Gnaw Their Tongues) who already did the re-issues of Coma Waering and Weighing Souls With Sand. The first 100 copies sold on our website will also include a cd with the material of the Solipsis promo cd the band send to a couple of labels at the time. The box set will also be available in a digital form with most of the material being available for the first time ever. Pre-sales will start in October. I'll post a link once it goes up. Already hopped on Coma Waering and Weighing Souls re-issues but this is an easy double dip for me. Hoping I get in that first hundred, this will probably be heinously expensive to import but I'm a sucker for Angelic Process.

bullmoose also has them listed as color. I Am Mine and NAIS as well (like their original pressings).

  18. The test pressings are the last things made after the label determines how many suckers fans they can get to pay a premium for the same album but with no jacket/artwork and plain white labels.

  19. This is exactly what I was waiting to do. I'd buy all of them if feasible. But it's not.

  23. City, SYL, The New Black, and Alien were all repressed by Blood Music. The same mastering as the box set (which is supposedly fantastic). There's color and black variants for each. Black will see some distribution upon release (11/24). US/Canada Europe

  29. On first listen there's only two Todd songs and he tries to actually sing, which sadly, I'm not into. The bass is also almost non existent? And, the abrupt ending to most of the songs make them seem unfinished...I did thoroughly enjoy it, though.

  30. I can't fault anyone if they think Ranges is far too formulaic. I agree, but I also am not burned out on "classic post-rock" if it's well done. And I personally think it's a really good album. Same thing applies to Glories from earlier in the year. Pretty "by-the-book" post-rock that's done exceptionally well. I don't feel every band needs to reinvent the wheel. In saying that, Godspeed has easily pulled ahead of Ranges for me. I think it's a much more accessible album than previous works, which is what I was hoping for. I don't really give a shit about field recordings and 7 minutes of nothing happening & all that nonsense so Lucifarian Towers really delivers for me. It's great from start to finish. This Patch of Sky has severely disappointed me. I feel like there is so much going on in this album without anything actually happening (if that makes any sense lol). Bella Muerte & Her Beating Wings are good but overall it's just so bland. Hoping their Dunk performance brings the songs to life. Also checked out Kauan yesterday & was impressed. Got a "more epic American Dollar" vibe to it.

  32. I don't know how you could come to that conclusion since you know absolutely nothing about this board. It it might be a safe place (it's not), but there are no grounds for that assumption since you've been a member for a couple hours.

  33. Thanks!! Been waiting for this game for years.

  34. Eh...gotta disagree with you hear. I've only listened to it a couple of times so far, but so far Allelujah>>Asunder>>>Luciferian Towers. I'm appreciating their change up, more melody, but am really missing the teeth of their last couple albums. Just listen to 'Mladic' or 'Piss Crowns', then come back and listen to this album. No comparison really. Don't get me wrong, I'm still stoked that they've put this out, and are yet again changing their direction a bit, but in comparison to their other work, it's night and day. Also, side note , but for anyone who hasn't seen them, DO IT. One of the best bands I've ever seen live, without question. There's wall of sound, then there's GSYBE!

  35. I feel like the simplest amount of common sense could answer this. Can you sit four people on a couch without the floor collapsing?

  36. FWIW, the label actually did send out an email reminder today to pick up the box set. Of course, they did that a few days after I'd already grabbed my copy.

  37. Made it halfway through that Ranges album. It basically exemplifies everything I find trite and forgettable about modern post-rock, down to a T. I would give it a firm 8/10 yawns. New Godspeed delivers. Obviously a little disappointed the bulkier tracks were slimmed down from their live counterparts, but as someone who didn't personally listen to the live renditions on repeat, I haven't grown accustomed to either version yet. I think that if they released the album and then played the new material with additional segments, no one would be griping. It makes things tricky when you debut material and tour it for years and then tweak it for a studio release, though. But Godspeed will Godspeed, and that seems to be their preferred approach, post-hiatus. I'm just happy to have another album and I find it really consistent if not short lived.

  41. Hey guys/gals, I created a spreadsheet to parse the DeadFormat Plaintext Dump! Hopefully this is something a few of you will find valuable. You pretty much just paste in your deadformat text file, and you should receive an organized spreadsheet out the other end. It wants info in the following format (see below), but could be easily modified for other organizations. There's a note sheet with step by step directions. Artist - Album (Variant)/#pressed [comments] File can be found below, download as a excel file, or make a copy to your google drive account. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Bbqa3i2Hv6-WKJl7mt4blLEjwfTnbRvDxFs7mpKnh64/edit?usp=sharing Example Image:
