  2. That Rufus Wainwright album on Merch Outlet rules, but I really want to buy that $10 Imagine Dragons record just to set it on fire. Like literally place it atop flames. I dunno why, but I hate them.

  5. I finally got a chance to listen to this and I think it's great, I honestly have no idea where all the hate is coming from. It's pretty different than the last two but in a good way. I only listened to it once but 'For Robin and 'Gram' were standout tracks to me. The songs with all the horns are gonna be so sweet live

  6. I can confirm this. Had a glow, and sold it to buy a white which was an upgrade. Just sold my white to grab this purple because I like how the purple matches the cover, I'm a sucker

  7. I owned that copy, It sounds like turds, so I sold it and picked up an original MoV pressing (white). By "original", I mean the first time MoV released it. Sounds 100% better than that glow in the dark piece of shit.

  8. Hi everybody, I would like to introduce this crazy project of mine I did recently - find records in your shelf with a laser pointer! The main idea is that I organize my shelves based on my Discogs collection and then I find them with a Raspberry Pi pan-tilt laser pointer. I build an manager app and everything! The official Raspberry Pi blog was kind enough to do a write up - find all the info here: https://www.raspberrypi.org/blog/vinyl-shelf-finder/ (also a reddit with the full setup picture https://redd.it/70muep) The full hardware setup is harder to replicate and it's not always 100% accurate (this wasn't the idea anyway) but the app is quite cool - I use it everyday, especially for the Last.fm integration. Will be happy to answer any question and requests!

    Video Game OSTs v2.0

Amazon did have the Cuphead soundtrack for $88. Looks like it went up to its current price on release day. Glad I jumped on it on Wednesday. Figured it was a safer bet since it won't charge til it ships, and I could cancel if I wasn't a fan. That was a stupid thought though. Game is fantastic, and the music is contagious.

  11. Enjoying the hell out of Cuphead as well. Haven't experienced something this new and unique in a while. It's very refreshing. Even after dying on the same boss or level over and over again, it has yet to frustrate me to the point of not retrying it. Been a long time since a game has grabbed me like this.

  12. On "island 2", there's a fountain in the bottom right-ish of the map, he tells you how many time you've died. But I couldn't agree with you more. I'd probably be raging normally if it wasn't for the beautiful art and soundtrack. (I've been told I'm an old soul, is this is right up my alley!)

  13. Got about 3 hours in with Cuphead on my own today. I'm loving this game so much. It's definitely hard as fuck and I've died probably going on 100 times by now, but with each boss or run & gun level, there was never a time where I felt I COULDN'T beat it. Even if it took me 20 times or more, each time I died, no matter how frustrated I might have been, I always felt that I could do it the next time. The music and animation plays a big part in it too. I can't get enough. I'm guessing this is a similar feeling to what you Dark Souls players get. So satisfying in so many ways.

  14. Good point, I'm probably biased too.. as I liked it from the first listen. That makes the 'continuing to give it listens' a lot easier. Also.. that synth during the intro and verses of Tyson vs. Douglas is hands down my favorite part of the album.

  16. Thanks for the opportunity and for giving a lot of excellent bands vinyl pressings and exposure on your label. I don't think I'd heard of any of your artists before I came across your website besides Sun Airway.

  22. I guess it depends on what you want the box for. The extra disc contains 6 demo versions of songs on the album. If you're looking for new material, that will probably disappoint you, but the demos are really good. They are technically demos, but they're really high quality studio recorded/mixed/mastered songs. It's nice to hear slightly different versions and how they evolved, and it's even nicer to hear songs that fucking Fridmann didn't touch. The box set is really nice and includes the extra 12" of demos, a set of 12" photo prints, a CD copy, download card. I think it was well worth the price, and every time I passed on a Mogwai box set pre-order, I've regretted it and gone back looking for it later. If you're not a crazy Mogwai fan, or if you are expecting a lot of extra music in the box, it may not be for you.

  26. Absolutely love Silver Screen but the atmospheric uplift of cardinal just edged it for me. Love listening to this during the late evening. Amazing album and can't wait for the vinyl drop!

  28. I'm in the same boat. I've only played it a few times since it came out and I just realized that. Up until now it was one of the releases I was most excited for. I don't think Battle Born was a misstep either, I absolutely loved that album.

  29. Silver screen the pick for me too. Some serious melancholy 80s nostalgia vibes going on!

  31. Why not jus sell for what you paid + shipping and small extra fee. Also, what are requirements to be a "legit fan"?

  32. The webstore white vinyl arrived today, at first I was worried there was no 7" but it's tucked inside the gatefold in a thin paper sleeve. Side A is the Yuk Foo demo and side B is a demo called "Bad Things" - wish I could comment on it but I don't have anything to play it on in my dorm.

  35. These pink versions will be available in 6 months for below face value when people get bored of this album. It isn't going to be a classic.

  36. I just keep dragging my feet on it. I'm not going to find it for less than ~$75 or $85, so I need to just bite the bullet and snag a decent copy of it.

  38. ok got ya. thanks for explaining. i did not realize the interludes, this album has too many versions and too many tracklists, bonus tracks, etc. and this big set should prob be 7 inchers.

  39. Echoing a few others here. To me, the opening track (Small Hours) really gives this album the right to live in your car and never leave. This is driving music defined. I really can’t wait to spin this, because it’s going to take me on numerous road trips without ever leaving the house during cold winter evenings.

  41. Just gave People Like You a go based on you guys recommending it, and wow! I'll have to dig through these too, I was obsessed with Topshelf around the time that TWIABP put their first out but haven't really paid them much mind of late. Gotta rectify this!
