Decided to do an A/B comparison of the record vs the mp3 download on my iPod. I have both running through my mixer, and would switch back and forth between the two with the cross fader. The mp3's highs are brighter than the record (the cymbals are rolled off), and the record overall has a very slight muffled sound compared to the mp3. By no means does the record sound bad (only listened to side A; no surface noise, no pops from what I heard), but if you prefer a brighter sound, the mp3 tracks will appeal more to you. Keep in mind my turntables are Technics 1200 MK2s (from some decade long ago) and I am using a Ortofon 2M Blue. You could probably get more out of the record with a better turntable and needle. Not featured: Focal CMS65s Speakers

For anyone who missed out on the 200 Gram White Ltd Flightless Pressing, more have been located and will be posted to Flightless Records at 9:00 AM East Brunswick time, which would be 3:00 PM PDT. I forgot about the fact that there are two different mixes of this album. I don't know what version I've been listening to this whole time, but I guess I need to download my official link and compare. I hate when people are so quick to proclaim a new release is album of the year, but I think this one wins for me. I probably bought at least 50+ records this year, not including downloads, and I don't think any other album has come close.

I see that too. I just sent them a message on fb, maybe i'll get a response. It can't be the first time they've been asked. To get a properly remastered from original master tapes copy of Darkest Days and WBBP would definitely be a shut up and take my money situation. I'd gladly fork over $50 for each, no regrets.

They couldn't even spell "pics" right....

I just wish they'd smash out a new unlimited press of Blue Screen Life. That album should really be in more hands.

I understand completely, man. Bone Machine is such a spectacular record. Unfortunately, Tom Waits doesn't own the rights to the Warner/Island LPs. The language is a bit ambiguous, but the email could be read to say that Orphans is coming in 2018.

Got mine today. Pretty stoked on the blue/black merge with red splatter and really stoked on the album art/layout.

Thoughts on the S8 opener? It felt too much of a stretch at trying to be artsy almost Lynchian with the flashforward/dream of old Rick and whatnot. And Father Gabriel has obviously not learned a damn thing. Trust no one. The easter eggs that harkened back to the first episode were nice to spot.

Back in junior high (93 or 94) I got Push, Sleep's Holy Mountain, and The Melvins- Houdini all in the same week. That was quite a week.

I just received my box set in the mail today. I haven't listened yet but now i see what all the complaints were about when it comes to the packaging. It defffffinitly could have been made much better. That said, given everything I know, I would still buy it again since its limited to 200 with the demo's LP. My demo vinyl is hand numbered 31/200 so in a way thats worth it to me. I'll listen to the records over the next few days and post my thoughts on the pressing quality.

I didn't order this and I haven't ordered from Milk before but hand-written notes are one of the cool perks of buying tapes from small labels. Almost all of them will include a note and a fistful of stickers, random download codes, candy, old baseball cards, etc. Very cool that Milk does it for their orders.
