Moose Blood - I Don't Think I Can Do This Anymore
dethrock and one other reacted to SeeMoreGlass for a topic
Got my silver in blue copy today and this is a great listen. Pretty typical Moose Blood for the most part, so if you dug the past two albums I think you will like this one. It is so funny to see how the pop/punk/emo lyrics have changed from "Girl I'm better off without you and you suck" to "I love you so much and you are awesome and I don't deserve you because I suck"... There are some pretty interesting lyrics on here too. It seems like some of them have to do with his family and his mom. I really like how this band slips in stuff like that because I don't feel like a ton of bands write about an emotional connection to their family like Moose Blood does. Totally worth the purchase2 points -
After a quick search I was surprised to see no thread existed for this yet. Next Friday Casey is releasing their second full length through Hassle Records. Fans of Being As An Ocean, Counterparts, Departures, Crooks, and other bands that lean towards melodic hardcore will probably enjoy this. I have already received a shipping confirmation from Music Glue, so these should be shipping out right away / on the release date. Their previous release, Love Is Not Enough, was a lyrical masterpiece so I'm excited to see how this record follows up. Clear with red and green splatter: Order: Music Glue / Kings Road Merch (Sold out) Turquoise: Order: Music Glue / Merchnow / Amazon / Bullmoose Red marble : Order: Banquet Records / Impericon Singles:1 point

Lily Allen's new record is pretty laid back and chill compared to previous outings. At least given from the three singles out so far. I've been a fan for a while. Got plenty of options to order including signed copies from her WB store. Any Financial Advisors Here?? Help on investing for retirement
aviolentworld reacted to Kanellos for a topic
Right, I see. I dealt with an ESOP, not an ESPP now that I think about it. I mixed the two up. I dealt with a company separation awhile back, so I went through tax hell trying to figure everything out. I think you're right. You wouldn't be able to roll over directly, but if you sold it and then contributed to an IRA, it would lessen the impact of the capital gains in theory I suppose. Well, wish you the best of luck figuring everything out!1 point -

My yellow showed up today. Daylight is my jam, the whole record is really good. Billy, James and Jimmy have their work cut out for them to "out" 90s this release with the new Pumpkins record that they are working on.1 point -

*Also not an expert but have dealt with this stuff at another company and heavily invested in the market+ a tiny bit in crypto* Youll get taxed out the wazoo on that, and it'll be more painful if you don't sell them during the correct offering period. Most ESPP plans have the small print rules for how not to get taxed as well as other stipulations. I would recommend rolling your ESPP distributions over into an IRA/IRA Roth and then diversifying your spread of investments to avoid distribution taxes. Fidelity is really great and super easy to setup. Might check them out. Would recommend getting proffessional help that knows the tax code extremely well because you can get screwed really easily. Lowes, like most companies, should have free pros to help through whatever institution they use for their retirement plans.1 point -

Yeah I don't think I've listened to this a second time since owning it. Now that I think about it, I kinda want to compare the vinyl to my CD release from back in the day, I have a feeling the CD will sound better.1 point -
.... man I feel really bad for UO collectors right now. Now they've got to pay $50 for a Flexi 7" in addition to all the other crazy bundles for the other variants. Eep.1 point

Any Financial Advisors Here?? Help on investing for retirement
aviolentworld reacted to shamrocks for a topic
caveat: not a financial advisor. the markets been pretty volatile the last 2 months and I think most of us believe the unprecedented growth of the last year is due for further correction. on face value, lowes doesnt seem like a bad stock, ratios look good, etc. i dont think its a $110 value (not sure why it went up 50% in two months) but then it corrected with the rest of the market in February and then again when the tariff nonsense was announced (also looks like they missed earnings projection right around 3/2). I personally think its very risky to have a large portion of your retirement tied up in a single companies stock, but Lowes seems like a top-half selection as far as stock values go. mutual funds are also going to be hit with market corrections, so its very likely your portfolio would have had exactly the same downturn had you been 100% in the growth fund. i just think single companies are risky, but there is no reason why well-run companies with stable profits and a strong market couldnt be a major part of a portfolio. also they pay dividends and have some relative Amazon-proofness just my thoughts1 point -

It was at the highest it's ever been a month ago at 105 dollars. It went down to 85 recently. Looking at my 2 funds in the 401k there was a greater percentage loss from the lowes single stock. I think I will move if it goes back to around the same price.1 point -
Stacked the deal for roots how i got over, sublime robbin', rage evil empire, beck odelay, gary clark jr blacknblue Looks like it only worked once per user, so I used a private tab/guest checkout to get that AU Winston Surfshirt album and a watch I had been eyeing. Thank you so much for the code! Was on a plane taxiing to the runway when I saw it for an intl flight, so i started working like mad to get the orders placed before takeoff with my wife shaking her head at me and making snarky comments the whole time because the airline attendants were pressuring me to turn my phone off. Success!1 point

I had almost a complete collection until he started releasing the devinyl splits. I've debated on whether to sell my variants but I just can't bring myself to do it. I'm not bankrupting myself for a complete collection that's for sure. I just keep an eye our for good deals these days.1 point -

Update: kid's 10.5 months old. He's a normal baby (as much as one can be with me as a father). Thanks for all the advice so far. I'm no expert, but I think we're getting there. Here's a picture from our first record shopping trip1 point -
Nothing concrete, but iam8bit did do a lot of tweets about the game for a while. That was some time ago, though, so maybe there wasn't anything to it or it's just taking longer. Hopefully we'll see it released at some point.1 point

Did I read that right? Variant collecting Kevin Devine? OOF, don't do that to yourself. That's a daunting task. I just collect one of each record. I'm still missing a few 7"s but I'm not losing sleep over it.1 point -

He told me to contact Zubaru Bama, the Nigerian Prince he’s hired to oversee the orders and packing. According His Majesty , I also won a once-in-a-lifetime drawing of a test pressing ( he referred to it as “the test pressings” but I’m pretty sure he just meant one). All I need to do is wire $400 into his bank account so he can verify my identity, after which he’ll promptly refund it - with interest. Looks like OESB’s finally gotten its act together!!1 point -

Complete this collection yesterday. The artist is Hayden, a Canadian mopey folky indie singer/songwriter from Toronto who has flown under the radar for nearly his entire career (seemingly by choice). I'm torn between thinking he has never received the attention he has deserved and thinking he's gotten exactly the attention he has wanted. Everything by the last three LPs are OOP. Each album title is a link to a great jam from each album (albums with multiple pressings feature different songs in each link) The big ones: Everything I Long For - Original press - 1996 Everything I Long For - 20th anniversary reissue on white (1000) - 2016 Everything I Long For - 20th anniversary reissue on teal (500) - 2016 Moving Careful 10" - 1996 The Closer I Get (500) - First vinyl pressing for RSD 2014 Skyscraper National Park - Original press - 2001 Skyscraper National Park - Repress on clear (500) - 2013 (Supposed to be hand numbered, but I bought it off a friend of Hayden's who run's a record shop, and it's apparently an extra from the run so is un-numbered). Elk Lake Serenade - 2004 (somehow bought this in 2015 from discogs, sealed, for $17CAD) In Field & Town - 2008 (After a bunch of digging and googling, I found a US online retailer in 2015 that still had sealed copies in stock and got two copies for $11USD. Pleased) The Place Where We Used To Live - 2009 Us Alone - 2013 Hey Love - 2015 The little ones: Mild and Hazy - 1996. I have two copies., one has a matte glued sleeve while the other has a glossy folded sleeve. I don't believe they are two distinct pressings, but when I saw one was different than what I had I bought it anyway, just because. Lunar Landing Confirmed - 1996. A split with Poledo. Carry on Mentality - 1997. The newest addition and currently my favourite two Hayden songs. Took forever to find this at a reasonable price and luckily someone a few hours away posted it on the 'bay last week and no one else felt like bidding on it. Nowhere We Cannot Go - 2015. All the sleeves are handmade from maps of around the country, no idea about pressing numbers .1 point
