I'm not sure quite how it happened but we went waaay bigger than last year it feels like so we've got a ton of stuff in house for the day. On top of all that we have been given an exclusive alternate artwork edition of The Longshot 7" picture disc. Customized for us by Billie Joe Armstrong just for RSD. This version will only be available in our stores. If there are leftovers we will put them online but we expect them to go pretty fast. IF YOU'RE IN OAKLAND 8AM TO 8PM First person in line gets 5 minutes in the shop alone. First 100 folks in line get entered in to a raffle for a $100 gift certificate to be given away the following week. If it isn't correct in your paypal account we may not catch it. 2. Please try to condense everything you want in to one order. We can try to combine orders if you place two but we may also miss it because we're processing hundreds of orders in a very short amount of time. 3. PLEEEEEEEASE don't place an order, freak out that you might not get something, order from some place else and then cancel with us. That's such a bummer. The inventory in our store should be accurate. If it's still up in the store, we still have stock. If we experience an oversell on something we will be in touch ASAP but that didn't happen more than a handful of times last year out of hundreds of orders. 4. Also know that it's two people working on this and we aren't Amazon so while it will go quickly it won't be same day shipping. Last year I think we got everything out withing 5 or 6 days total. Took off work early and scored a green from 1234Go. Bummed I didn't take the day off, like I was thinking I should. I could have easily picked up a split copy up north of me. I had a friend who was close by there, but he was at a docs appointment and couldn't get out of the office in time. Let's take a breath and all remember what happened with Radiohead's last album on white and how we all freaked out. I ended up buying two copies because I was scared one wasn't going to come through. Then they were fairly plentiful and now you can get one for under $35. That band is bigger than Sleep(though they shouldn't be) and that record was limited to 9000. Yes, I can say this calmly now that I have a green, but I think all of you will get one. TMR is just running this through the hype machine and those of us who actually love the band are shitting ourselves as we see flippers flip. I still hope I can stumble across a split.

Yeah, TMR has pretty much become a flipping hipsters shitshow paradise at this point. Whenever I see a limited release I just ignore it since I do not live near a store and have no desire to pay crazy prices in the secondary market since 80+% of there releases are now bought by flippers.

For anyone on this board who actually scores any copy of this, could you please post any of the album production credits that may be listed in the interior? That would be really awesome. I really want to know who is credited with the recording at which studio it was done. If I end up with a copy today I'll post it for anyone who may be interested.

Man, the MSRP of $50 from TMR has kinda killed my excitement about this. I guess I'll just go standard later down the line. I can't rationalize dropping $50 on a retail double LP at all, much less right before the first RSD I've ever wanted more than like one thing from.

Typical TMR bullshit to jack up prices on the more limited rarer variants. And of course shops are free to further gouge the prices.

So TMR wasn't planning on announcing the full on release details at midnight - they were just allowing participating record stores to advertise their stock come midnight and so far that has only been for the extra special extra limited edition. That's annoying as fuck and from the looks of it, the split green black is going to be roughly four times the cost of any regular TMR 2×LP. At least that's what I'm surmising based on All That Is Heavy's listing which is $80 for just the regular green /10'000. Needless to say I don't know which way is up on this and have no good reason to know because the label putting this out didn't want to give us the comprehensive info on this highly anticipated album that had less than one day of notice to the world that it even existed. I'm not entertained by the egregiously high level of uncertainty of this thing in the slightest. I just want a basic copy of the album with the music for a reasonable price. Not a special color. Not a limited cover variant. Just the album.

I have been shipping for a few years now and have always regarded those cardboard squares as a big waste of money. If you buy a lot of records, usually you'll receive a ton of mailers. Those that can't be reused, I have one of those big handle paper slicers - I cut em 12 by 12 and recycle the scraps. They're not always pretty but I can tell they stop shifting just as well as "standard' ones. Just fill the space. This is especially useful if you use amazon prime and get one record at a time.

Converge was cool because we had no idea the cover was going to be reflective, when the pre-orders went up. At least for me. Depending on how you angled, technically every variant of that first press could be found or “match” the cover art, and I though that was an interesting concept. New to me, anyway. Also.
