if they are in the budget bin sometimes I just roll the dice, some records from the 50s and early 60s were near indestructible, I have Bo Diddley and Chuck Berry Records in like G+ condition and they power through everything and barely even overpower the music at any point. The only record I have that skips and I just can't bear to part with is https://www.discogs.com/Art-Blakey-Quintet-A-Night-At-Birdland-Volume-1/release/2108341 it sounds really good outside of that damn skip. I have a few rare 45s that playing is either not advised or not enjoyable but they take up very little room and I probably paid a quarter or less. Not everyone collects the same, I don't think it's any crazier to fill up your shelf with rare beat up records than it is with 5 variants of the same record that you never play. I have even overheard kids in my store bragging about finding cheap beat up copies of Howlin' Wolf records, they find the character charming or are just excited to own a record and not have to pay out for it.

The issue is, I switched off my adblocker and I STILL got the pop up and couldn't use the site. Even after removing the Chrome extension completely. I also have a VPN extension, but that wasn't even switched on. Still couldn't access the site. I had to remove the VPN extension completely before I was able to access the site. A polite request not to use an adblocker is fine, but you're crippling the entire site for me.

I think everyone’s missing the point. I got off work at 4am and slept in my car till about 7 and got in line in SF. Probably about 20th in line and it was a cool experience. Talking with other individuals and they even sent up exclusive merch there. Got 3 tickets for me and friends at $80 each. Grabbed a shirt and had a cool time. I think the point of all of it is being able to share an experience that doesn’t happen any longer now that we’re in a digital age

I feel like this is both going to drive people away from the forums as well as keep new people for joining. If I wasn't already a member, I wouldn't sign up on a forum that made me disable my ad block.

By “1st pressing”, they mean 1st pressing after the 1991 pressing and also after the 20th anniversary 2011 pressing, of course. You can never have too many first pressings.

This was a super important band for 12 year old me. 34 year old me... not so much. But if they repress some of their older material, I'd be into it.

it's bottom feeding. they are inject themselves as middle men into a process that doesn't need them at all. most of these records would sell out anyway, likely to people who really want to have them, without the flipper putting themselves into the mix. they just make it harder for everyone else and contribute to an artificial mark-up in price to make a few bucks.
