100% agree. at first i thought it was fine but nothing great, but it really grew on me and ended up definitely being in my top 5 albums of the year

it does seem really weird to "announce" an album with a commercial at the Grammys, but not disclose a title, cover art, or release date. i dont think it's having the desired effect of generating hype/buzz, but rather just confusing people a little. i wonder if something got held up unexpectedly..? My galaxybrain theory would be that they heard Taylor was going to announce and album and said something like "whoa okay, it's too late to pull the commercial, so let's just turn this into a tease so we can get more press coverage a week or so later with a more formal album announcement"

Was hoping for a sneaky "Garden of Eden" vinyl drop at the Boston show last weekend (similar to the 10yr anni version of Stick Up Kids i grabbed at the show 4 years ago) but alas, i guess i'll have to wait a bit longer

i think Matty Healy is kinda cringey and seems like a bit of an douchebag... but him saying a few offensive things in interviews is not the same as being a white supremacist. feels like this is all getting blown out of proportion, and/or being used as an excuse to take shots at Taylor which plenty of people are dying to find any reason to do. (or maybe it's all completely true and legit, idk. just seems overly harsh to jump all the way to some of the conclusions in that article.)

definitely excited to see what they cook up for the repress/merch/etc., after how great i think the upsides/suburbia reissue came out. moreso than any of that, keeping my fingers crossed for a fall anniversary tour.
