  1. https://store.universalmusic.com/thehorrors/ The Horrors' fifth studio album is being released on September 22nd, 2xLP with signed print available from the official store above. Doesn't look like there will be regular and deluxe vinyl versions like Luminous had, just the regular double LP. This is also their first album (aside from Strange House, of course) not released by XL. First single "Machine" was released a few weeks ago:
  2. PO: The Horrors - V (09/22)

So... I am actually really, really enjoying this. Way more than I thought I would. The first half especially feels like a lovechild of Skying and Strange House, and yet somehow it works (and it's gnarly as hell live.) Something to Remember Me By is the sad goth disco anthem I never knew I needed. The record itself is a great package - glossy gatefold with full-color inner sleeves and a WAV download, and it's only 20 bucks at Bull Moose. This release is a perfect reminder of why they're one of my all-time favorites even though I really haven't thought about them much in the last few years - falling in love with a band all over again is a great feeling.
  3. Picked up a pink copy at Banquet Records this afternoon for £20, this was around 2 PM and it looked like they had a decent amount left. If they have any copies left next Friday they'll be offering them for sale online, probably a long shot but something to keep an eye on I suppose.
  4. The Official 'Vinyl Me, Please' thread.

This will be the first ROTM I'm actually keeping since joining a few months ago so I'm hyped. I saw Moses open for Sufjan on the Carrie & Lowell tour and have eagerly been awaiting the album ever since.
  5. I thought my hype for this album was already through the roof and then this happened.
  6. Whats New on VC

Yeah... agreed on the contrast thing. Bigger font + less spacing + less contrast = ow, my eyes.
  7. PO: The National - Sleep Well Beast

Welp, that's dumb as hell. At least I can buy a pretty blue version now with the cash I just got refunded for that.
  8. Official Newbury Comics Reissue Thread

That's exactly what I was thinking. I've been away at school during the last few in-store sales so there's a few exclusives I've been planning on picking up for a while.
  9. Official Newbury Comics Reissue Thread

Aaaand 20% off online today through Thursday with code LABORDAY.

  12. Limited to One Record shop, NYC

I'll be in NYC in a few weeks and definitely will check this out. Best of luck!
  13. Visiting London and Paris. Recommendations?

I'm gonna second St. Dunstan-in-the East, it's one of my favorite places to just chill out for a bit and everyone I've taken there has loved it. It's decently close to the Tower of London if you're gonna be in that area. The major museums are all pretty great and not to mention free, except the transport museum I believe. The V&A and Tate Modern are my personal favorites, and the British Museum kinda goes without saying. The South Bank is pretty to walk along at night, there are food stalls around but I personally haven't tried any so I can't give any opinion on what's good and what to skip. There's a street food market on weekends at the Southbank Centre that I've heard good things about, though. If you have the time, Brighton is definitely worth a day trip. Buy a train ticket online a few days in advance and you should be able to get a good deal, less than $20 roundtrip per person. If you're a burger person, Burger Brothers on North St. is the best burger I've had in the UK. It's tiny and gets crowded easily but it's so, so worth it. Avoid cabs, they're a waste of money. London transport will get you basically anywhere you need to go for much cheaper and walking is even easier - in zone 1 pretty much everything is closer than you think. And yes, tube from Heathrow absolutely. A few pounds to central London in ~30-45 minutes. But as someone who lives on the Heathrow branch of the Piccadilly line, try not to let your luggage take up three seats while the rest of us stand.
  14. PO: Radiohead - OK Computer - oknotok

I'd also very much like one of the posters so if anyone doesn't want theirs I can toss you a few bucks + shipping!
  15. Pretty sure it's a licensing thing. They've allocated a certain amount of the limited pressings to the US store before (gold My Love is Cool and the box set) so hopefully this will be the same. I wasn't able to get the You're a Germ 7" from them until I moved to the UK, though.
  16. White vinyl preordered, new song is absolutely sublime. This is gonna be good.
  17. Recent purchases

Been going a tiny bit crazy recently, as I usually do before I head back home for a period of time.... Against Me! - True Trans 7" Cheatahs - Cheatahs LP Deerhunter - Monomania LP test pressing (!!! super excited to add this one to my Deerhunter stuff, it's my first test press for one of my "main band" collections) The National - Alligator green LP The National - High Violet purple 2xLP Radiohead - OK Computer oknotok blue 3xLP Radiohead - Kid A 2xLP Wolf Alice - Creature Songs 10" Wolf Alice - You're a Germ 7" And I have a little bit of extra time in Manchester this coming week after I see Radiohead... definitely gonna keep an eye out for some shops because I'm weak and have very little self-control.
  18. PO: Radiohead - OK Computer - oknotok

I'll wholeheartedly agree with this, comparing it to the rest of the albums is pretty much apples and oranges. Blow Out is one of my favorite Radiohead tracks, no shame. I can understand why many people rank TKOL on the lower end, but I'm emotionally attached to it since it was the first album I experienced the release of as a fan and I saw them for the first time on that tour. Pretty much the only good memory I have of high school lmao.
  19. PO: Radiohead - OK Computer - oknotok

Creep was the first thing I heard when I was probably 10/11 in a YouTube video. I remember liking the guitar crunch and never really thought about it again. Bought OKC on a school trip in 8th grade and my life changed forever it's my ride or die album yadda yadda yadda. Anywho: OKC > Kid A > The Bends > In Rainbows > AMSP > HTTT > TKOL > Amnesiac > Pablo Honey
  20. Dammit, of course this comes out during the two months I don't have a UK address. 40 bucks is on the pricey side for me right now but I could probably swing the 30 bucks from the link above, this would look so good with the TOTBL splatter from NC. Edit: Shipping from Recordstore to the States is literally only a couple pounds more than UK delivery... alright, I give in. $39 total.
  21. PO: Radiohead - OK Computer - oknotok

Boomkat shipping notice revived, this will be a great thing to come back to after seeing them in Dublin last night. I Promise was especially lovely.
  22. Turnover - Good Nature (8/25)

Peripheral Vision has become one of my favorite releases of the past few years so I'll definitely give this a go.
  23. HMV Vinyl Week 2017

Still plenty of everything at Oxford Street as of noon.
  24. HMV Vinyl Week 2017

Thanks! Not gonna go out of my way to get up early for this then.
  25. HMV Vinyl Week 2017

I'm planning on braving Oxford Street HMV tomorrow since I really want that Suede LP (already have the black repress but it's one of my all-time favorite albums and I'm a sucker), has anyone actually done this event before? It's one of the bigger pressings at 2k so I'm not *super* worried but I'm gonna try to get there in the morning just in case.
