Is a box set confirmed? I haven't seen anything about that. (Would be amazing, though!) Side note: I wrote to Numero months ago when the first digital versions were posted to Bandcamp. I had two questions: A, Would there be vinyl versions as well? B, If so, would these releases be remastered at all from the original versions? The initial reply back that I got was "I don't understand your questions." lol Eventually, I got a 'yes' and a 'yes', thankfully.

Hey guys! I have a new wave of stuff that's coming out in the next few months, and I thought I'd post up a bit of info. These are a little different than my first batch: one is a private press synth-funk record from '87, another is a classic soul collector's item from '76 and then we have a series of jazz reissues from the '70s and early '80s from the artists Brother Ah and Milton Marsh. The Brother Ah stuff is part of a BIG reissue series, which you can read about HERE at Secret Decoder. Details and a few clips are below - hit me up with any q's! Thanks! Million Dollar Ecstacy: Private press 12" from 1987 that was limited to 100-200 copies originally and only used for promo efforts. This album is crazy fun. Heavily inspired by early Prince, Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones. We are working with the songwriter on another future release of his earlier recordings which are completely ILL. Like Devo meets R. Stevie Moore or something. Lots more to come with that one! The California Playboys: "Trying to Become A Millionaire" - These guys were studio musicians in the mid-70s and backed an R&B guy named Lester Young on a series of singles, before they recorded this LP in '76. This will be the first time it's back in print since! Discogs ballers have dropped over $1,000 for originals. It's that good! Milton Marsh: "Monism" - This is an avant/spiritual jazz record. It was also originally a private press, on the Strata East label. It's one of only two records the guy ever made and there was a huge gap between them. Very mysterious, but this record is beautiful! It starts off fairly mild-mannered, but gets bonkers as it goes along. I can't stop listening to it lately! Another one that's been OOP since the 70s. Brother Ah: "Sound Awareness", "Move Ever Onward" and "Key to Nowhere" - Brother Ah (aka Robert Northern) is a major jazz innovator and famously collaborated with the Sun Ra Arkestra for over a decade. His first three LPs run the gamut from free jazz freakouts (Sound Awareness) to African folk influences (Move Ever Onward) and even new age leanings (Key to Nowhere). We're reissuing these three LPs for the first time since their original runs, and then we're doing a big box set of these releases and three albums of previously unreleased material! It's gonna be bonkers.

It's a hand silkscreened cover (numbered), and the LPs inside are actually mislabeled as another CT band, with "DIIV" hand stamped on top of it. Otherwise, it's a regular version of Oshin. Just a little funny way to package some of the mislabeled stock so it didn't have to be scrapped.

Didn't see a thread about this anywhere just yet, but Merge seems to have very quietly posted a pre-order for a new box set of the 69 Love Songs releases! This has been a white whale of mine for a while - I totally slept on the original box set (didn't realize it was limited). There is a color version available for the first 1,000 pre-orders. Smith’s band, The Containers (which, at one time, featured his friend Robyn Hitchcock of The Soft Boys on guitar) suddenly broke up and he was left on his own. With only a guitar, a drum machine and his friend Jill on backup vocals, he formed The Beach Bullies. Their dual vocals and minimal approach recall The Television Personalities and Young Marble Giants, as well as later acts like The Vaselines. This reissue presents their long out of print debut with a bonus download of demos and rough mixes for a never-released follow-up album. So, I recently started a new job at a reissues record label called Manufactured Recordings, which is a part of Omnian Music Group, which also oversees Captured Tracks. The label has only been around for about a year so far, and has issued about 25 releases to date. So far, most have been cassette and 7" records, usually in themed bundles. Some of the artist series we've put out so far include: - The Marine Girls - The Monochrome Set - Hasil Adkins There have also been a series of Metal Blade tape reissues, featuring Slayer, Voivod, Corrosion of Conformity, Trouble and Cryptic Slaughter! Those things are all killer - many haven't been in print since the early 80s. There was also a DIY 7" reissue series with a bunch of small or private press singles from NJ punk band The Accelerators, Absent Friends, Four Gods (members of Go-Betweens) and a Belgian coldwave band called Nausea. Fairly obscure stuff, but really cool! Now, we are gearing up for a series of full length LP releases, including: - An expanded reissue of the first Momus LP, "Circus Maximus" with three additional out of print EPs added. - A complete discography of the New Zealand band The Wild Poppies, "Heroine: The Wild Poppies Complete Collection, (1986-1989)" - A reissue of the sole LP from a band called The Beach Bullies "We Rule The Universe". These guys were friends of Robyn Hitchcock and The Soft Boys back in 1980. Release dates are not yet established for those three above, but I'll keep everyone posted when we have more to announce. The Beach Bullies and Wild Poppies releases will each have a limited color vinyl edition as well. And further down the line, we will have some more diverse releases in soul, funk, gospel, jazz, post-punk, powerpop and eventually some more metal too. I hope to be very busy! I read somewhere that about 15 or so kids showed up at his place in the first week or so. I wish the visitors luck, though, because Mac is on tour like 360 days of the year!

I just heard about a guy who goes by the name KG, I think he's from France. He does some cool shoegaze and throwback 90's indie rock style tunes. I dig it. I don't think there's much available in the states, but he's done a bunch of stuff available in Europe.

Oh, and There Will Be Limited Vinyl on many of the releases too.

Haha. Yeah, this is playing out pretty much how I pictured it! We'll have a whole mix of stuff, from post punk to indie, to jazz and funk/soul, maybe some powerpop down the line, some avant electronic, who knows. I can't guarantee everyone's gonna love every release, but I bet some people will at least like some of them.
