  1. I feel the need to stick up for my dude. @lexicondevil is actually one of the kindest, coolest dudes on the board which speaks volumes as to how off base your posts have been here. For him to be that annoyed with you is a true feat in itself.
  2. My guy. I've been holding my tongue, practicing the whole, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all," thing. BUT. You need to stop spamming the board with every thought you have. Read the rules/guidelines, read the FAQ, lurk the site to get a general vibe for a little while and then eventually try again. Use the search feature a little bit to see if you get any answers to your questions that way. Nobody here really gives a shit about reading your blog or looking at your social media unless you're in a very specific niche, or very good at what you do. Have you recognized any of the bands/albums that you see posted about on here? You seem mostly interested in classic rock and pop, which makes up a very, VERY miniscule percentage of the posts here. I know I'm not here wanting to mentor someone who is just getting into the hobby who also shares very little of the same musical taste, and I imagine most people here share that same sentiment. I wish you luck on your record journey, but this isn't really a "starting point" type forum. The most active users here have mostly been involved with this forum for well over a decade at this point and have been collecting for much longer than that. We're a little jaded, and a lot sarcastic, and you came in here with a lot of questions as though you've done zero research or work to figure anything out on your own. Take a break from posting, read some threads, come back later, and don't take it too personally.
  3. If anybody gets this and for some reason doesn't want the patch, hit me up. Can't justify another copy of this just because I want a patch.
  4. There's a new Slomatics album coming out. It's super fucking expensive though with shipping. Was hoping to see it on the Black Bow US site, but no luck. Slomatics bandcamp is the cheapest place to get it and after shipping its still like $53 for a single LP. It'd be nice to keep the collection complete but I don't know if I'm going to.
  5. Eh...Tug feels like a troll account to me too. I'm just not sure whose it is.
  6. Who do we have money on this being? I'm leaning toward TUG.
  7. This for sure deserves its own thread. People have been waiting on this for a hot minute!
  8. I'll admit I'm not crazy about deluxe editions with a bunch of live/demo stuff, and doubly so if there isn't a standard version available. Tag on some b-sides, compilation tracks, other hard to come by studio stuff and I'm a happy camper though. I get where they're coming from not wanting to pay more for a bunch of stuff theyll maybe listen to once. That said, I do try not to bring it up a bunch since it seems to happen so frequently now that I'd be talking about it all the time.
  9. You can definitely wait for deals on stuff and get a pretty decent setup for not a ton of money. I've thrifted most of my stuff too but I blew a wad of cash the other day at the thrift store on a Pioneer PL-550 that was steep for thrift prices, but still a steal for the condition it was in and came with all its parts. I absolutely adore my all vintage setup now, and have a Debut Carbon DC that is gathering dust until I decide what to do with it.
  10. Sweet. Loved Avalon when it came out but didn't keep up too much with his next couple solo releases. Now all I'll be missing is Beautiful Things.
  11. Juan, I'm so sorry to hear about your dad, dude. That sucks so much. I'm not a funeral director any more, but if you have any questions or something seems weird with the arrangements, send me a message and I'm happy to help if I can.
  12. Here's the thing: People who care about vinyl likely don't care about YOUR vinyl, and people who DON'T care about vinyl aren't going to be swayed to love it just because you do. I did the instagram record thing for a while and realized that while I love records, I don't love posting photos or videos of them and I really couldn't give a shit about looking at most people's collections.
  13. Yup. Got my first skip in years the other day and it's clear there is a gnarly scratch I just didn't notice at first.
  14. Crystal Clear from Levitation: https://levitation.fm/products/slowdive-everything-is-alive-levitation-edition 10% off with code LEVITATION2023. Got mine for $30.82 shipped, best I've seen so far and reasonable enough I caved.
  15. Yeah, the first press of the splatter from them was censored. It was fixed on subsequent pressings.
  16. That crazy expensive Baroness album too, that Plaid Room sale, and the Target buy 2 get one free books/movies/music hammered my wallet the last little bit as well. I might actually cancel that Baroness order depending on the next single. Hard to justify at the price point.
  17. Right on. Honestly at $25 I'd probably be in for this just for nostalgia sake. The pricing trends recently just drive me nuts!
  18. I mean, I get that you're kind of agreeing with me, but if you're buying this shit at this price it's too much. As far as singke LPs go you can get everything from Dischord, Fat Wreck, a bunch of stuff from polyvinyl and the like around that price, a ton of bands self releasing, and major label stuff like...a month after it releases because it gets discounted hard because nobody wants to pay $30 for the new Ozzy record, Beatles reissue, etc. Even bump it up to $24 and you see a shit ton of bands putting out basic 1xLPs in that range. $35 plus shipping is outrageous for a single LP and just acting like it's normal to pay those prices will just continue the increase in price from greedy labels. I'll wait this out, and if I miss it I miss it. But I have a feeling I'll land one below $30 shipped in the near future.
  19. That's cool and makes a bit of difference, but I do wish they'd have done a basic version for $20 too. I just remember seeing these guys at shitty little art spaces back in the early 2000s with high school bands that never got out of the tri-county area, so it's weird looking at $45ish dollar represses after shipping. I dig the album, but I don't nearly $50 dig it.
  20. Jeez. Starting at $39 plus shipping? I wanted this, but fuck that noise.
  21. This label is notoriously awful at communication so I'm surprised they even said anything honestly. But to your point, yeah, totally. It's really not a big deal I just like shitting on them a little bit.
  22. To compensate for our lack of communication and getting the wrong thing we're giving 1/800th of you something and begging you to buy something else as well.
  23. Crazy pricing, high shipping, and I wasn't too impressed with their last album. Limited, great colorways, and signed though... Ugh.
