  1. Fuck it. I bit. One of my top 10 albums so the fanboy in me came out.
  2. Yeeah....I like his original posters he did for Trent, but yeah, I'd rather have the iconic album cover as well.
  3. Man...do I really need more than 3 pressings of this? One of my top 10 albums, period, but...The only difference is that 12 page insert.
  4. I loved the last two albums, and appreciated the evolution of his music. That being said, Push the Sky Away is still my favorite. Seeing him live really made the albums come alive, especially Carnage. I ordered the limited from his site, but this will probably end up being 'limited' to mass quantities.
  5. If anyone is in the Portland, Oregon area and wants some sleeves from last weeks deal, hit me up. I did not need 500.
  6. I have not bought as much this last year as in previous years as I really don't have that many holes in my collection any longer. I'm always looking for first presses of GD, Neil, Floyd, Cave, etc and will buy when I find depending on condition and price. I tend to be a completist as well so I've continued to show discipline in not adding on groups that I'm not a huge fan of. That being said, I'm about 500 albums in and looking to trim back so I can add white wales when found. Last year I went to Japan and found a number of first and second year pressings of Floyd and GD, complete with obi strips. I was pretty stoked about that. I also couldn't pass up a couple copies of PJ Harvey's 'To bring you my love' first pressings that came out to about $60. I think that album is criminally undervalued.
  7. Yeah, after the price of a 3 month subscription, meh...I still bit.
  8. Hellava deal, if I can find a few albums for my 3 month subscription.
  9. Weird...I'm logged in with my membership email. I just tried it again from a different device, still not working. I've sent them a help request. Edit: Nevermind, I was putting a space between the Holiday and 40, it works now.
  10. Well, I joined and now the discount code is not working in the cart on that box set...
  11. Well, I joined and now the discount code is not working in the cart on that box set...
  12. Would that discount work on the Dead box set? It is a pre-order, so I'm assuming not.
  13. Ugh. I'm sure PJ Harvey loves seeing her new records devalued to free.
  14. Great topic. I'm glad someone brought it up, newbie or OG, it doesn't matter. Yeah, I've always wondered how much the difference in pressing plants and runs matter if it's from the original year as far as price goes. I'm sure it matters if there's a much larger run at one than another, but how would you find that out anyway? It's not like there's a guide out there to let you know how many were printed at each plant. I do wish there was another source besides Discogs that you could look up scarce variations, and one-offs.
  15. Yeah, good post. I checked eBay as well, sales history and current auctions. No bueno! Goldmine is no bueno. I could do some digging at the Hoffman forums too...
  16. So, I know Discogs is the defacto place to research and shop, but does anyone know of a good alternative to price hard to find variants, and rare pressings? I've found a couple OG Neil Young and GD that I haven't been able to find any price reference for. For example, a Grateful Dead - American Beauty original from '71 from the UK/Warner Bros. 1893. It has no WB logo in the rim, Green Label, in Stereo. The other example is a Neil Young - Everybody knows this is Nowhere (UK/Original, Stereo, UK/Reprise RSLP 6349/ from 1969. It's the tri-color Steamboat Label. I can find a reference on Discogs, but it doesn't mention the label color. What's throwing me off is the place that's selling it is pricing it at about $193, and the most I've seen it sell for on Discogs is about half that. The other prices I've seen at this place are very reasonable. So I'm not sure if this is some rarer variant that I'm just not finding on Discogs or the same one that is indeed being sold at a premium. Here's the listing for reference: https://timebomb.co.jp/en/products/68201752150pm6n Thanks for your input...
  17. Damn...! I'm thoroughly impressed by a few of the shops I've visited. Namely the Disk Union shops in Tokyo, and Time Bomb in Osaka. My Pink Floyd, Grateful Dead, and PJ Harvey collections just added some white wails.
  18. As much as I would love to make this happen, it's not possible. I just double checked and we're leaving on October 5th from Portland, but we're not arriving until the next afternoon, on the 6th. I had my dates a bit off. Damn, dude. So close...!
  19. Hmm, I'll be in Tokyo from Oct 5-8...Then elsewhere. I have yet to research shops in Osaka or Kyoto. I've only got the two chains mentioned above in Tokyo but will do some further digging before leaving.
  20. Let's meet up for some Sake!😝 I joke, I joke...
  21. I'll be sure to hit those, and hope I stumple on some well curated shops that have hard to find gems.
  22. I'd echo what was said below, I think Ultraviolence is her best album by a pretty fair margin.
