  1. haha, I'm totally seeing that one coming! Then, on the other hand, Converge did the same thing and everyone seemed to like it for a reason (I found it rather boring to be honest). At the moment I feel like some cool extra for the cover like the embossing for New Bermuda would even be more appreciated together with simple, heavy black vinyl. Would still be a good match.
  2. song rips, that weird solo in the middle sounds like an 80s anime intro at first but then proceeds to weirdly melt in with the rest - I dig it! Production wise it sounds like New Bermuda with some refinements, which is something I like as well. Cover artwork is awesome. PO wise I'm not sure what I'm going to do, it will depend on the announcements made and how much room for interpretation there will be regarding the variants. The EU/"standard" variants/packaging for New Bermuda were a total disappointment compared to the nice sturdy treatment the US edition got. Here's to hoping that Anti- and Kingsroad have learned from that.
  3. it's for display but you don't mind how clear it is? might as well leave it in the mailer altogether... also: in b4 cat gifs
  4. very nice that they also offered the /100 variants on the euro store. Very much looking forward to this as the single is fantastic.
  5. while the acoustic versions aren't especially horrible to listen to, one still thinks when they (james alex/polyvinyl) will stop rehashing those songs to the death, since it really hasn't changed that much over the last 4 or so releases except for essentially not being the same band personally for quite a while now.
  6. will keep an eye on this. Was not familiar before, but that single is great.
  7. Green Hell (GER) has listed the pink double LP with the bonus tracks but without all that yadda yadda for 22€.
  8. talk about German shoegaze. Here's another great band which has just released their sophomore LP, "Ringthing". While grounded in "rock" guitar work in general, they lean heavily towards synth- and dream pop oftentimes, so this should also appeal to fans of bands like The Pains of Being Pure At Heart or also the last Death of Lovers record. You should definitely check it out, the opener alone should be worth it! I don't know how to embed the bandcamp player, so just take this hyperlink: JAGUWAR bandcamp
  9. Re: Swirlpool Yes, indeed an awesome single and really nice guys, too! They are from Regensburg, Germany, and their debut EP is due out this spring. I've already listened to it and it's a real banger, I'll definitely post here once it is released. Some of the best music out of Germany I've come across in recent years. Also stoked that my band is going to do a little touring with these guys over here in the summer :-)
  10. don't know if there's a regional difference, but I'm in India right now and it has been available for me on Spotify ever since the release date. Just checked again and it is definitely there.
  11. sorry if that didn't come across, but I love the sound. I've liked their sound early on (purchased the 10" together with the new record), but this new stuff is just a bit more distinct and individual.
  12. received the new Iris 12" via Backpack Records. The swirl variant is super neat. Highly recommended for any fan of old Whirr, but I want to say that Iris' sound has evolved far beyond that since the debut 10".
  13. very anxious to hear what they come up with next. It's been a while.
  14. to give this some context for those unaware: https://www.spin.com/2017/10/matt-mondanile-aka-ducktails-departed-real-estate-amid-sexual-misconduct-allegations/ edit: also, judging from the past interview section reported in the article, the guy seems unbelievably self-absorbed in the first place. Ugh.
  15. no shipping confirmation yet, but I ordered from Relapse EU so that might be a different kind of thing anyway.
  16. Yes, I was also a bit surprised by the overall direction in comparison to their debut. Luckily the personal quirkyness is still there though, and after another few spins this has me even more interested. Will keep in rotation
  17. YES! can't afford to preorder, but the new single kicks ass and I'm amazed how these guys could write and record all of this in between tour schedules and the new Nothing LP that has recently been recorded as well. Very much looking forward to the release!
  18. Posting for the star. Will buy domestic if they are not limited, which seems to be the case so far.
  19. I'm getting some strong Alex G vibes from this. Only went through the whole thing once but it already has me hyped for tomorrow when I can put it on my phone. You should also check out the Audiotree session they did, it's terrific.
  20. really not that smart of a move to use the Holocaust Memorial (Berlin) as a backdrop for your music video - I'm sure a lot of people will feel offended by it and it actually made me think twice if I wanted to share the video with some friends. The music is cool however, will keep an eye out for when the whole record drops. Any plans for EU/Germany distribution?
  21. I've never bought from them before. But yes, usually German international shipping is rather reasonable, so that might be your best bet. I couldn't find anything on their homepage though.
  22. was able to score the /300 merge variant. 31€ ppd to Germany. Not too bad, and this is certainly an album that I would like to have a nice variant of. Really excited for this release!
  23. dude.. that /300 looks so good. Will try to get a copy, eager to see the "EU/UK" pre-order options and hoping it's not gonna make me cry.
