I have the color version from their website and it sounds perfectly fine.  Heads and shoulders better than the original mix repress I have.  This is one of my all time favorite albums and I'm not mad about what they did with it.

I emailed them the other day and they said they didn't get them from the distributor yet.  They estimated about a week delay.

I'm not sure.  This is the first time I've seen cross over between the two labels.  I know MOV's recent reissue of Slowdive Pygmalion was different than the VMP one from a few years before so I'd expect them to do their own thing with this one.
 

I only had Ride The Lightning to compare too.  They sounded similar to me except my Walmart version had some clicking during Fade to Black which was a pressing defect.  Of course I couldn't get a replacement to see if it was any better but I haven't see any others complaining about it so it must be an isolated problem.

And I may have paid $35 the other day for the last copy of something Newbury had that I would have regretted missing so it makes me feel better talking shit about them hahaha.

Fair enough.  I didn't connect that that was who did the artwork.  That's pretty cool.  Usually I don't order from Newbury for the reasons you pointed out but they got me at a time where I'm super into the album and couldn't find a copy to buy.  They win this round.

Reviving a 2 week old Post to call someone out on it seems like the "idiocy".

They ship with your monthly shipment.  So if you ordered this month they will ship with Faye Webster. 

I never understand the bashing a record club for acting like a record club.  Of course they want you to subscribe. 
 
As mentioned before, leftovers will probably be around $40 in the store so your best bet is a 3 month sub (which actually makes the VMP version cheaper than the standard when you look at the per month price) and then swap your other 2 months if you don't like the picks.

I think they're trying to make the point that you should sign up now because they might not be available next month. If sign up now you'll get Flaming Lips this month and Songs for the Deaf next month. 

It's not that, it's the sheer stupidity of the pressing quantity + price here. Whoever thought this would move is insane. At this rate they'll be stuck with what, best case... 950?... leftover copies. I guess that'd net them a massive profit because even with the bells and whistles they're promoting here, these things ain't costing much to print.
This may be the stupidest display of vinyl-selling hubris I've witnessed by a band before.
 

My US order shipped today and it appears that I'm getting a refund from the UK store so it seems it worked out in the end. 

Good luck! I would maybe let them know maybe what happened with your previous order so hopefully they can prevent that from happening again.

I remember seeing it right as I was starting my record collection and literally my first time in a record store and thinking that I don't need to spend $30 on something I already own on CD.  *face palm*
