  1. I agree. The domestic pressing surprised me with how much better it sounds than what I was expecting.
  2. I agree and while $36 is a bit more than I like to spend on an album, Thee Oh Sees are one of those bands I'd like to see do well enough that they continue to make music so I have no qualms about supporting their efforts. Their concert tickets are usually pretty cheap in my area so I feel like there's a balance in there as well.
  3. Not quite my cup of tea, but Seth Bogart's self-titled album is this week's $10 Weekly Steal at Amoeba. http://www.amoeba.com/seth-bogart-lp-seth-bogart/albums/3796038/
  4. Finally a chance to pick up Louder Than Love for a reasonable price. I hope the remasters are of good quality. For Prime members, it's the same price as the Soundgarden store: https://www.amazon.com/Louder-Than-Love-LP-Soundgarden/dp/B01I0M1A8A/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1467914507&sr=8-2&keywords=soundgarden+louder+than+love
  5. The new album on Castle Face this week, ORB, sounds pretty awesome. Here is their bandcamp link: https://orband.bandcamp.com/album/birth

  7. Am in metro-Detroit myself. Can confirm that shipping here seems to lag a few days.
  8. I preordered back in May from ITR but still haven't rec'd mine yet. Anyone else not get theirs from ITR?
  9. What surprises me in this that on some level is that it's a small marketing/PR miss on TDE/KL's behalf. Where are the Instagram/Facebook photos of him signing the thousands of the CDs & vinyl? If it's legit, why not have fun with it and promote that he's doing it? It promotes him, the album, strengthens KL's image of integrity, maybe catches a few music blogs attention, etc. Basically keeps him in the news on a positive front while promoting his music/brand. Clearly looking too deeply into this as I'm still changing the bandages on my butt hurt.
  10. I'm embarrassed that I let me enthusiasm for this get the best of me. I'm even more ashamed for not canceling when I realized this was going to be the shit show it is. Confession over.
  11. I picked up both and they're both really good, imo. Male Gaze has a few songs that are pretty catchy on this album and overall it's got a great vibe. They didnt' stray too far from their last album but seemed to have branched out enough to make it feel fresh. I'm kind of a big deal Useless Eaters fan so it would take a lot to disappoint me. The synths seem more prominent on this album and they seem to be trying out some new sounds like the song "Hogs in the Bush". I think it rips as much if not more than Bleeding Moon.
  12. I almost started a post on this one myself last week when I ordered a clear copy. Really looking forward to this release. One of the few bands that I have chased down all of their albums & almost all of their singles although it's not hard to do as their catalog isn't huge. Definitely one of my favorites. A killer song for fun:
  13. I pulled the trigger on the deluxe with Ty Segall 12". Lots of great bands on this one.

  15. This is such a great deal. Sonic Youth's "Dirty" 2LP for the low low price of $12 as part of Ameoba's Wednesday deal. Don't think this one will last.... http://www.amoeba.com/dirty-lp-sonic-youth/albums/3764321/
  16. Was not expecting this much awesomeness in one week from CF. Thee Oh Sees was enough but couldn't pass on Male Gaze & Useless Eaters.
  17. Yeah, they're skipping Detroit too which is a bummer. Looks like it's off to Cleveland for me.
  18. Some awesome news right here: Thee Oh Sees recently announced their Live in San Francisco double LP and concert film, out July 1. Today, the band have announced their next proper studio album to follow up last year’s Mutilator Defeated at Last. A Weird Exits is out August 12 via Castle Face. It’s the band’s first studio album where John Dwyer is accompanied by drummers Ryan Moutinho and Dan Rincon as well as bassist Tim Hellman. Along with the announcement, they’ve shared the album track “Plastic Plant.” http://pitchfork.com/news/65690-thee-oh-sees-announce-new-album-a-weird-exits-share-plastic-plant-listen/?mbid=social_twitter New song sounds awesome. Super geeked for this.
  19. Looks like it's similar to, if not, a repress of this one: https://www.discogs.com/Tom-Petty-The-Heartbreakers-Greatest-Hits/release/1841848 I've been on the lookout for this particular one for a while but it's ridiculously expensive as you can see from the discogs history. Amazon's price tag is a little high but it's much cheaper than discogs.
  20. The package for this was a big opportunity for them and a big miss on their part. This is begging for a higher quality package than it has been given so far there are great examples of how this can be done right. But just to be clear, when you're saying it's a long way from MM or AP, you're referring to packaging only not the pressing, correct? Or have you heard the AP version? I'd love to get another opinion on the pressing differences as I've kept myself open to the idea of picking up an AP version at some point
