For the versions up on CF, it looks like the two colored variants are /1500 each.  Black is out of /6000.

The only thing I have heard is VMP said on Twitter that it's the "definitive version".

Man, totally crushed by this. My wife and I danced to Chris's cover of "Thank You" at our wedding and we just saw him with Temple of the Dog in LA last year. To me he was the voice of Seattle.

For an album titled Murder Ballads, their vinyl color choice sucks.

Digging this new Here Lies Man from Riding Easy Records.   Between a friend's testament and the awesome description below, I was totally in.  Received the album yesterday it's pretty badass.  There are still a few copies of the clear /200 available.

What if Black Sabbath played Afrobeat? In short, that’s the underlying vibe to the self-titled debut by Here Lies Man. The L.A. based quintet is founded and conceptualized by Marcos Garcia of Antibalas, bringing his erudite experience of West African rhythms and music to the more riff-based foundations of heavy rock. The results are an incredibly catchy and refreshing twist on classic forms, without sounding forced and trite like some sort of mash-up attempt. Here Lies Man merges and expands musical traditions organically, utilizing the talents of drummer Geoff Mann (son of jazz musician Herbie Mann) and a host of skilled musicians to make Garcia’s vision a reality.

Throughout the EP, Washington explores the musical technique of counterpoint, which the avant-garde jazz player defines as "the art of balancing similarity and difference to create harmony between separate melodies."

You guys.  That variant is clearly a narrative on McDonalds and the efficiency of a cheaper, available option.  FJM is encouraging you
to step back and realize our culture is fixated on the sloppy condiment-soaked vinyl of this day and age.  You're not looking deep enough.

Good to know - but really it's because I'm old and still look forward to and adhere to official release dates for the most part. As much as it can be hard to wait, I like the anticipation and find it especially hard to cave for the things I'm most excited about. And especially if I've pre-ordered the item. I like my first experience to include checking out the artwork. If for some reason I'm disappointed in the leak, it makes me regret my purchase before I even get it.

I agree and while $36 is a bit more than I like to spend on an album, Thee Oh Sees are one of those bands I'd like to see do well enough that they continue to make music so I have no qualms about supporting their efforts.  Their concert tickets are usually pretty cheap in my area so I feel like there's a balance in there as well.

What surprises me in this that on some level is that it's a small marketing/PR miss on TDE/KL's behalf.  Where are the Instagram/Facebook photos of him signing the thousands of the CDs & vinyl?  If it's legit, why not have fun with it and promote that he's doing it?  It promotes him, the album, strengthens KL's image of integrity, maybe catches a few music blogs attention, etc.  Basically keeps him in the news on a positive front while promoting his music/brand.

Clearly looking too deeply into this as I'm still changing the bandages on my butt hurt.

sinatra.45 reacted to red dirt in PO Now: Pylon Live 2x LP
I'm all over this... in for the magenta deluxe:

    --

    https://chunklet.bandcamp.com/album/live

"Limited to 217 on magenta vinyl.
Limited to 312 on clear vinyl.
    Unlimited on black vinyl."

"Pylon Live is a double vinyl album recorded on the band’s home turf at the culmination of their powers, and the results could not be more stellar. An all killer, no filler set with nothing left on the cutting room floor, Pylon Live includes powerful versions of the Pylon canon from their first and second LPs and even the hard-to-find song “Party Zone” (previously available only on a DB Rec comp) and their never-before-released rendition of the “Batman Theme.”

When compared to the band’s prior body of work, Pylon Live bookends all of it; some might even say it’s a better representation of this Athens quartet, who thrived on bouncing around on stage infinitely more than sitting in a studio.

There’s little arguing that the Athens powerhouse trifecta of R.E.M., the B-52’s, and Pylon is peerless. And while all three bands have achieved great critical acclaim, only the first two had the commercial acclaim they deserved. Pylon Live intends to correct that.

Pylon Live is being released on July 25, 2016, the birthday of deceased Pylon guitarist Randy Bewley, with release events scheduled for this summer in Atlanta and Athens."

This is a nicely mellow record by Pete La Roca with a little bit of a Euro jazz/spiritual jazz vibe. Originals aren't that expensive. It's got John Gilmore, Chick Corea, Walter Booker, and Pete La Roca.

    Some awesome news right here:

Thee Oh Sees recently announced their Live in San Francisco double LP and concert film, out July 1. Today, the band have announced their next proper studio album to follow up last year’s Mutilator Defeated at Last. A Weird Exits is out August 12 via Castle Face. It’s the band’s first studio album where John Dwyer is accompanied by drummers Ryan Moutinho and Dan Rincon as well as bassist Tim Hellman. Along with the announcement, they’ve shared the album track “Plastic Plant.”
