I remember looking into this many years ago and learning that I should not be concerned about the weight of my collection, provided it was placed against the load-bearing outer walls. To bear this out, I have not read anywhere anytime about a second floor apartment floor collapsing under the weight of a record collection. I found this discussion online and will share it here. It looks like weightlifters who live in second floor apartments have many of the same concerns as vinyl collectors.

It's funny, I buy pretty much all my box sets from Amazon Warehouse (including Narkopop, the Kraftwerk box, the U2 Joshua Tree Box and several others). In my experience, I have had better 'luck' with the box sets than my normal Amazon Warehouse purchases.

Love the band but they seem to be having trouble selling tickets for their tour this time around. (Their first time through L.A. on this year was a hot hot ticket: bands have to accept they can't come through a second or even third and fourth time on the same tour and expect the same strong response.) Their show in Santa Barbara was cancelled today. I'm sure it was for poor ticket sales. Hundreds of tickets available for each of their other California shows.
