  1. It's odd, usually the NINternet would be all over this stuff but the hype around the Year Zero ARG just doesn't seem to be there around this release, even though TR has specifically called out that there are clues and other information to pull out of what has been released. Guess people prefer to find and argue over 'true' #fakefacts... Either way, that back is tres interesting and full of nuggets.
  2. I get this, and often find myself cringing at some of the lyrics. No one has brought it up yet, but the sober TR definitely has more confidence in his lyrical and voice capabilities... and I almost preferred when he tried to hide his voice under numerous layers. With that said, the vocals has always been down on the list of things that make NIN great, IMO.
  3. I dunno, The Social Network S/T is one of my favorite pieces of TR work in the past little while, and even though Ghosts I-IV feel like ideas and not fully formed songs, I loved the concept and enjoy revisiting it every now and again. But I totally get where your coming from given some of the aesthetics AR brings to the table. With that said, I'd kill for this on vinyl and think this is some of Ross's best work: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Error_(Error_EP)
  4. Hopefully not to steal your thunder axis but I grabbed it here for ~$42 CAD. Looks like it will run you $35 USD with shipping. https://www.juno.co.uk/products/broken-social-scene-hug-of-thunder/653750-01/
  5. Grabbed the euro clear off juno.co.uk versus trying to track down what will be a very hard to find coke bottle clear copy. Hopefully City Slang does the album justice and the pressing is great. Off topic... also was a great vehicle for me to pick up the limited dig your own hole variant celebrating it's 20th anniversary so bonus.
  6. Also, given the tone of NIN's music, I find most people's favorite NIN albums align with their teens-early twenties when people are often at their most brooding, angsty, anti-establishment, etc. Obviously a generalization but it's something I definitely observe when talking to 10 years my younger fans that love WT and YZ while I lean towards TDS and TF.
  7. Oddly, while Less Than has garnered wider acceptance and praise than anything off NTAE, I actually like almost everything off of NTAE more than this after a half dozen listens. Will continue to listen though as I'm sure it will hit eventually. Ordered the PC (free shipping everywhere?! WOO), now to wait on the vinyl PO.
  8. Welp... looks like I will end up with the Blue and deluxe. Reviews for the deluxe has pushed me over the edge.
  9. Definitely enjoyed Quazarz vs. The Jealous Machines more than Quazarz : Born on a Gangster Star although both feel like they have a bit of blah in them. They could of pushed this together into one solid 60 minute album IMO But good on them for doing their thing
  10. Did you happen to see if they had anymore lying around the office? I work a block from them and missed out on the coke bottle!
  11. I get why people are complaining too... but he also released a $300 6xLP set for TGWTDT an ambient soundtrack... or $300 for a 4xLP Ghost I-IV set of instrumental 'thoughts'. While those both clearly trump Deviations in quality, TR has always put a premium on the full experience, and this is no difference. Again, I'm not suggesting people should not be disappointed with the end result of this, but no one should be surprised at TR charging $80 for this. ... or he may just be realizing raising four children in LA is DAMN expensive.
  12. I'm in the 'this set was meant for diehards' camp. This isn't The Fragile or Broken or TDS.... or MCIS or a smaller bands debut album.... it's a collection of instrumentals, alternative takes, demos and b-sides. For that reason, from a business perspective, I get why it's $80, but also see why an objective observer would see this as overpriced. TR has always put a price on exclusivity and has never had a problem with charging out the wazoo for the 'full' package (Ghosts Deluxe, TGWTDT, Cargo In The Blood). Also, if $80 gets him the cash he needs to tour and make more music (assuming a chunk of the other sales go to the labels), then it's a huge thumbs up from me.
  13. Weird, picked up a copy for 49.99 CAD up here (Rotate This had it for 44.99 but when I saw it in SB I didn't want to risk it...) but both had Made In EU on the barcode. Guess we got the UK version?
  14. I ordered it from Fireband, didn't cancel, didn't get a shipping notification, and it just showed up at my doorstep. Same day as Lost Highway and Prick oddly... Hopefully yours is on the way!
  15. This is on my list to get for pure nostalgia reasons, but I was hoping to grab it used somewhere down the road. Count me in for 3 dolla bill as well. The only two LB records that hold up to my 90s lovin ears.
  16. Still searching for blue, but will wait on the US release to figure out if I need to target a UK copy. Great news that the UK version sounds excellent.
  17. Ya, if there is enough in the back catalog to satisfy two other months, I think you made the right choice. Not sure when or if DD makes it to the store, but they have said they are continuing to press it as long as there is demand.
  18. Wait, when did Insound stop shipping to Canada? With the change in management? Dammit, I have been waiting for a decent Canadian dollar price for that S/T... EDIT: Looks like the support shipping to Canada but not for that item?
  19. Grabbed Daniel Brandt and Dear Reader as they weren't hits for me, but were very enjoyable. The other decent stuff seems to have been picked over. I have a feeling that many of these titles will stay in the sale thread for awhile...
  20. Frankly, their store exclusives is where they are shining these days. They can run 500-2000 limited presses of a ton of different shit. ROTMs go through a different lens given that is a 20k pressing and VMP hopes there is some broad appeal and exclusivity to it.
  21. I enjoyed Living Thing for what it was, but the two records after are very forgettable and can often be had for cheap.
  22. Great news. Have had this on my discogs want list for awhile and whenever a copy popped up I couldn't stomach the price. Will ask my indie if they know about it, or will grab it if I see decent shipping to the north.
  23. They do well with their customer service so e-mailing them with a video is often a surefire way to make sure they make it right.
  24. It's been stated that SWAPS get processed like the rest and there is no order to the madness (although I wouldn't be surprised if International orders get prioritized given the time it can take to ship). Hope everyone get's their shipping notice by end of day!
