So if you like your old school thrash progressive and a bit technical...
Believer's first three albums are getting a reissue treatment. These became pretty rare and pricey over the years since their initial release.

    >>>BELIEVER<<<

Believer is an American technical thrash metal band from the late 1980s and early 1990s, that plays a hybrid of thrash and progressive metal. Believer is known for its innovative use of symphonic elements in thrash metal, featuring some of the earliest examples of symphonic metal. Their lyrics deal with topics of philosophy, theology and social issues. - Wikipedia

Agreed, putting a bit of time and effort in to listen to them would likely be the most rewarding option.
They aren't necessarily all worthless, you never know:

I don't know if anyone else has posted about it somewhere else, but I'm finally getting to spin my copy of FAWN LIMBS x NADJA - "Vestigial Spectra" and it is Very Fucking Good. I'm pretty much down to insta-buy anything Fawn Limbs puts out without waiting to hear what it sounds like. They've been untouchable for me over the past several releases.

I am really enjoying the latest Horrendous album. So many different things going on. Completely slept on this one. If anyone has a yellow, red, black, voodoo copy, let me know. I have many boxes of metal and other records for trade. Maybe we can work something out.

These are the 2 extreme metal albums that stood out for me this year:
    Horrendous  - Ontological Mysterium
Outer Heaven - Infinite Psychic Depths

Also really enjoyed Portrayal of Guilt's Devil Music EP.

Liturgy (surprisingly because this is the first album of theirs that really worked for me) and Horrendous are my clear favorites this year. Also loved:
Tar Pond (criminally overlooked, and easily the best doom album other than Bell Witch)
    Bell Witch
    Fabricant
    Agriculture
Chained to the Bottom of the Ocean
    Godflesh
Oxbow (not metal, but also oddly overlooked, their best yet IMO)
    Godflesh
    Vestigio
    Ex Everything
    Gridlink
    KEN Mode
    Cicada the Burrower
Entropia (unfortunately not as good as their last two, but still amazing)

You gotta look for a black RTI pressing dude, I have it and it's one of the best-sounding albums in my collection.  Dead quiet, and just.... perfect.  I see all the comments on Discogs tho, that's mind-blowing.

Also, for this one Turntable Labs has a green that they said is limited to 2,000.  I made an order with them, and the shipped everything in my order already except that lol.  Looks the same as the other one listed tho?

This is undeniably beautiful, but it's not enough to make me want to listen to it again. To me, it needs some noise or some weirdness, I'm missing a contrasting element of some kind.

see if you can track down either the japanese exclusive or the grey indie retail(?), i've had copies of both that sounded really nice. though from the wider range of discogs comments it sounds like the grey is a bit hit or miss..

This really interests me a lot. I'm expecting my copy tomorrow I think? Always a little apprehensive when getting new SP tbh. But looking forward to getting this.

bjorn got a reaction from Letskissthesky10 in Noisy Vinyl Even After Cleaning
If anyone is going to get into collecting (and hopefully listening to) records, they need to know that a relatively high percentage of records will sound noisy even if they are brand new. It depends on a variety of factors in the production process, and no record label or pressing plant is immune to this. In my experience, records pressed in Europe are slightly less likely to have these kinds of defects, but as in the Ayam example which I also own, they're definitely not perfect either. Record cleaning machines are nice to have, but can't do anything about crappy pressings. It's frustrating, because some records are practically perfect (like the recent My Bloody Valentine reissues), so if proper care is taken in production it can obviously be done, but so many are sloppily produced and have glaring flaws. Until you buy a copy, it's hard to know what you'll end up with. You can check Discogs listings for certain albums, as people will usually report if a pressing has issues, but that's not always reliable either. The bottom line is that you either have to make peace with this reality, or just stick with digital. If I get frustrated by the vinyl version of an album that I otherwise like, I'll usually track down a CD instead.

I would have liked to buy it, but not with those prices. In cases like this, my move is to buy the Bandcamp download and dub myself a tape and print out a J-card with the artwork. I get almost all the analog fun for a fraction of the cost.
