  1. The adjusted release date for both the US (Geffen) and UK (Interscope) versions has been moved to Oct 28th... Jim
  2. Got my Mellow Gold and Odelay a couple weeks ago - finally had chance to spin them over the long weekend. Beautiful records, flat as fuck and sound great (after a good vacuum cleaning). Anyone still looking for any of these and want to buy from the oldest record shop in the Pacific Northwest? My order was handled/shipped with perfection... Millennium Music out of Portland... https://musicmillennium.tuneportals.com/Genre/694687 According to Allen at MM, they might have some more Odelay's in-bound - as of now, they have Mellow Gold and the Elliott Smith's available. Jim
  3. Been a Vault member from the get-go. Some have been amazing and remain some of my favorites, others were "so-so" which got sold and sometimes ended up paying for the whole years subscription. This on is in my favorites category - flat as a pancake, sounds great and what a beautiful record. Jim
  4. I also got my shipping notification for Vault #29 on the 15th but still no movement - anyone's package in-transit or just "shipping info sent to shipper"? Jim
  5. Bull Moose has it up for pre-order now... http://www.bullmoose.com/p/1033371/nirvana-incesticide Geffen must be acting inordinately secretive about this release to their distros - check out the deliberately (?) flippant release date BM notes They do say shipping TBA as well above the add to basket button... Jim
  6. Hopefully - maybe they don't charge until they get the exact shipping date from the label? We shall see... Jim
  7. I've always been charged straight-away on pre-orders from them. I wouldn't worry about the "TBA" release date designation on their pre-order page - as I mentioned above in the OP, Seth from MD confirmed they've been notified by Geffen that it's coming soon, just no specific date. If you look at other releases on their pre-order page, many have a TBA date. Jim
  8. I see that MusicDirect has Nirvana "Incesticide" listed as a pre-order through Geffen with a release date (to be announced). I spoke to Seth at MD and he said they weren't given a specific release date from the label as of yet. For shits and giggles I emailed Andrew at ORG to see if their remaster was being used for this release. He said Geffen/Universal was handling their own pressing entirely. I have the other ORG Nirvana pressings and they sound amazing but sadly I do not own Incesticide. Given the nature of the original recordings on Incesticide (demos/live Peel sessions etc), I'm sure however Geffen handles it I'll be happy at $25. Anyway - anyone have more info on this release? Music Direct pre-orders... https://www.musicdirect.com/Search?category=Vinyl&specials=Preorder&sort=popularity%7CDESC&page=1&c1=tab-products&c2=grid Jim
  9. There is a Geffen US version on standard weight vinyl dropping on Sept 16th and an Interscope EU version on 180 gram virgin vinyl dropping on Sept 9th (both Geffen, Interscope and A&M - same parent company). There were pre-orders up for both that came and went fairly quickly at roughly $20 and $40 respectively. The only one I see still taking pre-orders is SoundStageDirect for the Interscope UK import (see link below). I'm sure local shops were able to order both for early Sept inventories so check with them... (currently 20% off) http://www.soundstagedirect.com/beck-odelay-import-180-gram-vinyl-records.shtml all of the above applies to "Odelay" only - so far "Mellow Gold" is a Bong Load only Ltd release Good luck!
  10. I dropped back in B&N today - the above mentioned manager and I got to yappin' about vinyl for so long the other day that I forgot the pre-order confirm slip for my Interscope. Anyway - I asked him why their pre-order for the EU import was taken down since I placed the order for mine. He said they had sold through their allotment of 100 copies (for B&N.com and their 640 stores!) That suggests to me (and him) that the Interscope might be limited - again, we shall see! Jim ps - I grabbed a Geffen from Bull Moose for roughly $21 all-in just in case my Interscope pre-order from B&N goes sideways. If they both come, I'll have a nice gift for my sister down the road!
  11. Here's what a manager at (of all places) Barnes and Noble told me today. The ones we're seeing listed as pre-orders at or near $40 at places like Soundstage Direct (and B&N) is the EU re-issue by Interscope and is 180 virgin vinyl. The ones listed at pre-orders at or near $20 is the US re-issue by Geffen (same parent company as Interscope and A&M) and is standard weight vinyl. I think he's correct as I remember MusicDirect had it listed as Geffen and "standard weight vinyl" before they pulled their pre-orders for $19.99. We shall see! Today was double membership rewards at B&N and I had a coupon for an extra 20% off that I had to use by the end of the month so I grabbed an Interscope for $25 and change out the door...they list the release date as being September 9th.
