Does the deluxe on black vinyl have the same sticker on the front? Is it possible to tell them apart without opening them?

Have anyone with the marbled copies experiencing the same sound quality issues as I'm having ie noisy especially side D track 4 that has background noise all the way through. How about those with deluxe black vinyl, how does it sound?

I wouldn't buy a new turntable, you can get so much for your money used it would be very unlikely the new turntable would better the used one. For example, I have a £5,500 turntable which I paid £1,500 for, nothing at £1,500 new will equal my turntable. Also, if you decide it's not right for you soundwise you can sell it on with little to no financial loss. There are bargains out there too, I picked up an old AR 101 turntable for £100 and it sounds just great, much better than it has any right to be and much better than the Rega P25 I'd previously owned which I bought for £400 and sold for £400 after a year of use. Join a hi-fi forum and search the used section you'll be surprised at what turns up and the prices. In reality, so long as a turntable spins at the correct speed and is reasonably damped it will have less of an impact on the sound than the cartridge and phono stage. Even the surface it's placed on can have a dramatic effect, especially if it's an unsuspended deck.

Marbled vinyl is a beautiful thing - to look at. Soundwise, it's a great production the rumble on track one made me look outside expecting to see a truck rolling past (seriously). Unfortunately, it's a bit noisy (crackle and pops) which is obviously more noticeable in the quiet parts, I wonder if a black vinyl copy is any quieter like 'if you wait' was? Side 4, track sounds terrible, so noisy

No standalone coloured vinyl is disappointing, I've pre-ordered the standard black copy from Amazon for £22 vs £27 on the official website

I picked up one of the AAEA 2012 45rpm represses which sounds sublime. I have an original pressing of RTS which always sounded like it was mastered a touch too hot, I wouldn't mind listening to the new mastering especially a 45rpm version. As others have said, TDL needs a reissue. HC and SNASM both need to debut on vinyl. Anyone want to buy a hardly used AAEA live on white vinyl

Thanks AGB, its better than nothing! I only saw it on my mobile phone whilst squinting into the sun - I guess we will all have to wait till 9th June. Hope the 2 disk version is cut at 45rpm, if you wait is an amazing sounding piece of vinyl

Thanks allenh, I have a Nottingham Analogue AceSpace with heavy kit and AceAnna arm fed by a Benz Ruby II. The NAS is better in so many areas yet this humble AR TT really has something about its presentation, so much so I'm tempted to swap the NAS for another bouncy deck (something I never expected).

Thank you both. I added some damping to the stamped steel sub chassis, not sure if it had any real effect? However, the TT does sound better than it did, not sure if that's because of the more rigid plinth, damping, that it got a good service, all of this or its all in my head? "I still think you need to explore the bouncy side of the turntable question a bit more" Can you expand on this? "Now do you fancy making another plinth?" I would but it took the best part of 2 months and cost £100 just in parts, that varnish alone was £30!

As others have said it will be a sideways step, so long as they spin at the right speed, you really need to spend a lot for turntable improvements. I have 2, one cost over £5k (Nottingham Analogue Ace Space with heavy kit and ace Annalog arm) and one I picked up used for £100 (Audio Research AB101 with stock arm) and although they sound quite different they both sound great. The differences of one being about mass and the other is on suspension. The things that make the most difference as others have said are the arm, cart and phono stage. Ultimately, MC cartridges pull more from the music. If you get a better phono stage you'll soon be picking up/wanting to try a MC cart.

I wonder how many copies of the ltd marbled/signed vinyl were made/available? I was on holiday with just my iPhone when it was released, I bought one but only saw the images really tiny. I have no idea what it looks like and can't find any images of it online and the product page displays a 404. Anyone downloaded a pic?
