Depends on your tastes. If you disregard Al's first album "With Sympathy" as a straight synth-pop album that the label supposedly controlled then "Twitch" and "Land of Rape and Honey" are both excellent but way more Electronic/Industrial sounding. Their roots are from Wax Trax! Records in Chicago and they really shaped the whole label and scene. They got more into guitars after Paul Barker joined the band around "Mind" and then went all out with it at Psalm 69. Both of which are really great albums.  I also really love Filth Pig which came out after it but it was not as well received and it is a bit slower and more doomy than their previous albums.  So if you prefer more "synths" go with Twitch and LORAH, but if you are more into guitars go with Mind or their most popular album Psalm 69 (the Jesus Built my Hotrod single sold over a million copies). All of those albums have great moments. But I would definitely start with any of these as it was their strongest output. I used to run their official website back in the day and really love the band and have seen them countless times. Glad this album is finally easier to get.

Check out these songs on youtube for an idea of how they progressed: We Believe, Land of Rape and Honey, So What, Thieves, N.W.O, Just One Fix, Lava. And then listen to "Everyday is Halloween" just for fun.

That NIN is just disappointing. One of my favorite albums of all time and limited to 500 but that artwork is rough. But I did grab a few others specifically for the art/artists that the wife and I like.

FYI, don't offer free shipping as a default. Yes, the fees are the same either way, but Discogs doesn't sort by price to include shipping. Even if your price for a record plus shipping is the cheapest option for buyers, your listing will be lower down on the page and potentially buried in the listings. Keep charging shipping unless Discogs fixes their sorting.

I hear people say this so I am sure it does happens,  but I buy a lot of records on discogs and rarely ever see examples of this, at least domestically.  I used to see it a ton on Ebay 15+ years ago before they changed their policies. So to me it is greed more than anything else as it does not seem to be a widespread issue that should be used for the justification of this.

They can say things like this is the "first time in 10 years we have had a rate increase", but what is the average sale price now vs just 3 years ago pre covid? The market for rarer LPs has skyrocketed. I see plenty of used records selling for 3x what they were then. That price difference may be 10x what it was 10 years ago.  And we all know paying $50 for a double LP is starting to become more and more normal, so they are raking in more $$ than ever from record stores selling new stock too. Point being that their 8% cut is way more now than it was then.

I don't sell much anymore since the new tax laws took effect, but when I do I just use Ebay since I really like their Global Shipping Program. It sucks for the buyers, but makes it so much less stressful for me knowing that I don't have to worry about lost or damaged overseas packages once my item makes it to their Kentucky location.

Bootleg shirts get made (at least by me and all the people I know that are in the bootleg T-shirt game) because a lot of bands (legacy bands) don’t pay attention to detail or just don’t care. Nor does any one of us want to spend an arm and leg getting a “vintage” NIN tee that was probably used as a cum rag at one point. We want these shirts to rep our favorite bands and give people the opportunity to as well. My thought process about the whole thing  is anybody that wants a shirt should be able to get one and not have to spend upwards of $300+ Supporting some dude that’s found a shirt for $10 at goodwill or whatever. I respect the hustle but I will never support a dude who’s house probably smells like musty sweat because he’s just sitting and flipping goodwill shirts from the 80s and 90s. Specifically that VintageMiner dude on ig. Fuck that clown. ANYWAYS if the band sees now that there’s a market for their old designs and decides to re release them that’s awesome, good for them, BUT as a person that does this on the side I know it probably cost them about $18 tops to make that longsleeve shirt. Selling em each for $60 is dumb, someone just did that long sleeve not long ago, puff print and everything, hugest quality and looks amazing and was selling for $35 each. I’ll forever support this band, I buy records, posters, tickets, and official merch from them all the time but that price point is fucking dumb.

Looks like it is substantially cheaper from other retailers like fnac.  Reminds me of how everyone overpaid for the nick cave box when it first went up on his site.

$125 shipped to the states after taxes are deducted:

Nice finds even at €60. Were they both the UK press? Or was Barcelona the Spanish press? I had the Spain one for a long time but finally sold it when I snagged a mint UK copy for $75 a few years back. Same person sold me a "Show" LP for $50 as well. That was a great day considering my Spanish press covered the cost of both.

The OG press was also not a gatefold so I'm expecting the new one to be pretty similar. I'm really excited to hear all of the B Sides on the cd as this may secretly be my favorite Cure album. I think the demo of Cut they just released sounds fantastic.

Made it, but of course with just 1 copy. $150 and not even a sleeve. Still a pretty good line now.

edit: Just heard that it sold out about 10 mins after I got in.

Yeah for sure. But my guess is it'll be 1 per as it has been the handful of times i've gone there for stuff. Really I have to see how motivated I get that day. It's only a 35 min drive but as I get older I really hate waiting in lines.

It is up on Amazon UK and Japan already. I'm sure that it'll be on the US site soon. I'm also seeing it pop up at a lot of random UK/Eu shops now. So there is no real reason to think it isn't a big worldwide release. This reminds me of the recent Nick Cave boxset which sold out the first few places that listed it and then it was readily available.
