  1. It sounds great on cd so I can't wait to hear it on vinyl. I'm hoping that they still have a copy left by the end of next week. They still have a few left; I emailed Kenny before ordering to make sure. I can't imagine they would randomly sell out this week before you get a chance to order one.
  2. Seriously? It was one of the widest releases of the summer -- it opened in 2800 theaters. You must really live in the middle of nowhere...
  3. i think ive decided i want to experience new bands by seeing them without ever hearing any music by them before the initial live experience. That's what got me into Polar Bear Club. I had more or less completely avoided their music for a year, then saw them last month and was blown the fuck away. I bought their EP, but it pales in comparison.
  4. How much for Candy Land? Is that the original pressing?
  5. did they have many more? i'm going saturday night. and if this was the tour with the format, are they selling dog problems? Yeah, they had a box behind the table that looked pretty full. Dunno if they have it on platinum, though -- the display copy had the gold sticker on it, and so did the one I bought... As for the Format, I didn't look at their merch, sorry.
  6. Picked up the Limbeck S/T vinyl at their show last night on gold -- shit looks really nice, Virgil!
  7. For anyone into comparison shopping, Cave In is a buck cheaper at the Robotic Empire store (plus free shipping). Botch is $20 in both stores, however.
  8. "Trepanning" is one of the band's 10 best songs, and that's on this record, so...
  9. Thanks for the heads up! Ordered (and Exalted).
  10. Yeah, but they're refurbished. No thanks. The product descriptions these dudes write are gold, though. Kudos to those!
  11. I saw them last night opening for the Format. TERRIBLE SHOW. Not Piebald's fault -- they played admirably. The sound was complete ass, however, and the front of the crowd consisted of 16-year-old girls who wouldn't give the band the time of day. About 15 of us made our way up front and danced, but it was pretty sad overall. They played: Off Venetian Blinds - If Marcus Garvey Dies, Then Marcus Garvey Lives Off We Are The Only Friends We Have - King Of The Road, American Hearts, The Stalker, Fear And Loathing On Cape Cod Off All Ears, All Eyes, All The Time - The Benefits Of Ice Cream, I Haven't Tried It Off Accidental Gentlemen - Strangers, Getting Mugged And Loving It (maybe A Friend Of Mine, too? Can't remember) I'm actually kind of ticked that they didn't play more of their "classics" (i.e. "Grace Kelly With Wings," "Just A Simple Plan") considering it's their last tour ever. Also, I talked to the band and they told me that all their records/CDs on Big Wheel Recreation are officially out of print (since the label closed a few years back) -- they own the rights to all of them but currently don't have plans to reissue any. So if you've been waiting to pick one up, now would be the time.
  12. This shit is the best. I was debating over grabbing one of those iPod docks then hit "refresh" and they were already gone. Argh!
  13. Rev's '90s roster (Gameface, TITR, Elliott, Quicksand) completely blew my mind wide open when I was a young teen. I think I own maybe three records from Victory's '90s roster (Refused and a few Snapcase records).
  14. I got outbid at the last minute on the Big D/Melt Banana 7-inch because I had to leave my computer and go see Piebald. Curse you, real life!
  15. What is this site? Can you explain?
  16. McTernan did Cave In's "Jupiter," Moneen's "The Red Tree" and Engine Down's "Demure." Dude can get a pass on making the HWM records sound the same from me.
  17. A panda bear walks into a bar. He sits down and signals to the bartender that he wants a club sandwich. The bartender brings it to him, but no more than three bites in, the panda pulls out a gun and shoots the bartender in the stomach, before casually strolling out of the bar. The bar's patrons start to freak out and ask the bartender, "Should we call 911?" the bartender calms the down and says, "No, no, no -- that's a panda. He eats shoots and leaves."
  18. Ben, you should give burntwolf.com a plug in the next Vinyl File.
  19. Just sheer jealousy, that's all. The time he's using questioning my free poster giving-out he could better use to give you some sweet, sweet lovin' (something I am currently unable to do as my ladyfriend is 6 hours away).
  20. Hey! What about me? I was the first one to reply. - Jeff True, but Jacobe's a fellow Ohioan and Andy actually PMed me his address asking for one before I even made this thread. Instead of worrying about getting a free poster to a show you're not going to, you should have sex with your girlfriend instead. That'll teach me a lesson.
  21. Okay, I only have three (Kirby, I already set one aside for you), so Jacobe and Andy, send me your addresses. Mrbananagrabber, I'm sending you one too since I promised you one in the other thread, but I already have your address. Sorry to everyone else, but if I get anymore, I'll let you all know.
  22. That can't be right -- they've only pressed 1100 of the Rage 10"? That thing is still available everywhere!
