How on earth is this band underrated? So many people are swinging from their nuts right now. They're great, but I don't think they're underrated by any means.

There is no money in journalism. Not saying I do "hard" journalism or anything, but yeah, definitely no money in writing in general.

Death By Stereo is also sponsored by Jagermeister. When I saw them with Avenged Sevenfold back in Oct. '05, I actually got a DBS/Jager shot glass for free at the show. -
The ocean is incredibly fascinating to me. It's over half of the world, and yet we know so little about it and what creatures it contains. There's so much mystery over what's really down there -- it's like a whole other planet.

Also saw it yesterday, but didn't laugh as much as I thought I would. Give McLovin a spin-off movie, though -- that kid stole the show.

What was your first ever record purchase?

I think the Lily Allen record is pretty good. I saw her at SXSW and she half-assed her set, but it was still enjoyable. -

Where can you pick up extra paper sleeves? -
Ah hell, I though I stumbled across some rare gem. Still, for 8 bucks (original price was $16.99!), I can't complain. Thanks for the info!

Good band, bad dudes.

The ladyfriend picked up Social Distortion's Sex, Love and Rock & Roll LP at a Hot Topic in the midfdle of nowhere for me for only $8 (on clearance), and when I opened it, it was on red vinyl! Stoked on that discovery. Anyone know the pressing info for that record?

Vote September's VC Collector of the Month

Don't worry about it! No one is going to judge you or anything. And if you want, I'd be happy to look at it beforehand and polish it up. If not, that's cool too, just thought I'd offer. -
Are these the same color?

Hmm, after seeing your picture I now think my left one is dull purple and my right one is grey. That seems to be the consensus, too. -

The Ukraine is weak. It's feeble. I think it's time to put the hurt on the Ukraine.

Since all the promo photos for the band this time around are all with snakes, Virgil, you should do rattlesnake-colored vinyl! That shit would be badass. -
jets to brazil pressing info
scottheisel replied to elephanttttt's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I love how Dave Wagenschutz is copping an attitude with people who want to know this information. Like, seriously? These people are your customer base! Treat them with respect and tell them what they want to know -- it's not like it's trade secrets or something, it's just pressing info. EDIT: Plus it's pretty obvious the info they do give out in that thread is nowhere near accurate, given this JTB record Virgil's currently listing: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=160150304741 Don't really think that's white or grey... -

Does your copy look like the one on the right? Can you post pics? -
This is the pressing info: 1st Pressing: 550 Dull Purple, 456 Grey, 75 Fuchsia, 9 Blue w/yellow, 6 Grey w/blue, 3 Yellow w/blue, 1 Yellow And here are the records in question: Are these just different shades of grey, or is the right one grey w/blue?

If it's pick 'em, I'll do it.

Absolutely hilarious. The songs themselves sounded great, but the between-song (and sometimes during-song!) banter was hysterical. They played: Make Yourself Sick -- "I Got Punched In The Nose...," "Hold On Tightly Let Go Lightly" Trainwreck -- "Dreaming," "Medicating," "Purging," "Composing" S/T -- "Get Your Head Straight," "Apartment 4," "Up With Me"

It's out of 1000 Awesome, thanks! Exalted.

Canada is interested in promoting its own product, I'm sure, but shouldn't people be interested in music / art / etc. because of what it is and not where it comes from? I can see what you're saying but I also think that it's a bit excessive to form a law around it. - Jeff I see your point, but I think it's cool of an English-speaking country so close to the U.S. make sure that their own culture is played on the radio, too, instead of just becoming "America Junior" in terms of what popular music gets played on the radio/TV. If it weren't for that law, you probably wouldn't see bands like Billy Talent or Alexisonfire achieve the success they have in Canada (which in turn lets them garner more respect in other countries), and you DEFINITELY wouldn't have seen Fucked Up playing live on MTV.

I work with the guitarist in Cheap Tragedies. Their demo is pretty meh, but I saw them with Polar Bear Club the other week and they were awesome. Did their singer come out in a luchador mask and wave around a big metal chain?
