  1. Ahhhh. I’ve been sleeping in a lot lately and missing some good shit.
  2. I had tickets for last year, or 2020 that transferred to last year. Was a more solid(bigger) line up, but I feared it was going to be too much of a shit show and sold ours.
  3. Some that haven’t been paying attention to Topshelf, may be surprised to know they haven’t really released any thing “twinkly” in almost 10 years. Outside of a few things, here and there. All of that early stuff is OOP and probably won’t be repressed. But that’s a solid haul of what Topshelf is, as a label, past and present. Some really great, undervalued releases.
  4. Damn, I was hoping this was someone posting about leftovers! 😖
  5. Pretty positive The Palace is ALL seated. Saw Sparks there in 2018 and had 5th row seats. A lot of people ended up in the area between the stage and seats. There was only room for about 150 people there though.
  6. This may be the miss of the year for me. Hoping they do what they did with the Pete Murphy box and have extras.
  7. I got drunk last night and saw 200 Stab Wounds/Undeath. My ass fucked up.
  8. Big ups go out to anyone that thinks this is a great idea, does it, and then has no clue how to unload, or how fucking insane it is to unload, 4k records and actually make the money they’re worth haha ”We got ‘em, now what do we do with them?!” “Dude, this was your idea!”
  9. Fully into it! Hilarious, but from what I can gauge by on Reditt, kids these days/new collectors have no idea how to be, or what it’s like to be, a deranged completist. It’s pretty wild. Those were/are all my friends. Haha
  10. So glad I saw these were up when I did. Still pissed about missing the first pressing of the 2xEP 12” and the Scowl splatter when they went up together.
  11. Almost certain mine are covered through our renters insurance. At about 4k records and a high Discogs value of $214.5k, I think we have it set at around $150-$200k. Pretty sure my partner just told them they were records, a very overwhelming amount/highly collectible/valuable collection and they just did it up. It actually may be higher, because I think she took into consideration everything else in the room(books, shirts) which would add another $10k to the value of its entire contents. I’m definitely not that person though, she takes care of all of that haha she works in law. But yeah, I’m pretty sure she just told them that I’m a big “music collector”, we have a room where there’s a bunch of valuable shit in, we need to make sure it’s safe and that was it.
  12. You’re complaining about how much records cost in 2022. I’m assuming you don’t bitch about how the chips you buy are now $2.50 more than they were 4 years ago? Right? No, you just buy them anyways. You sound like an unemployed teenager that now has to pay for shit he was getting for free because he moved out of his parents house. Keep up with how things are or don’t. Yes, this discussion of inflation and everything else has been brought up before, especially in the last three years. Thats not going away. I’m tired of everyone “voicing their opinion” about how records are “too expensive”. I’m buying $30 single LPs on the reg, and I’m fine with that. Does the fact that I could get away with paying $8 for a new LP in 1998 make any difference in that equation? NO! Keep doing you, you seem content. I’m personally sick of hearing about that bullshit. Me suggesting you give this up seems pretty apt with what you and a lot of “long time” collectors think is price gouging. Also, very much stable(I mean…) and very much fun to be with. Thanks for the compliment.
  13. We already are. A record that’s been OOP for 6+ years is going to be, at least, $8-$15 more than it was when it was last pressed. There are exceptions. Supply and demand are making it easy to make these things happen. Labels/bands need to survive too. Albeit to a certain extreme that hurts us. But even then you can have an “endless” pressing, $50 is still decent. Again, we’re talking about a band that was charging $50 for a double LP 10 years ago. Mentioning/complaining about the rise in prices for records is one of the craziest things to me. Especially with what the fuck is going on and the world we’re all living in. Ramen used to be $.25, now it’s two for a $1. FUCK! I’m done! Instead of voicing an opinion that doesn’t matter, bow out of “the hobby” gracefully.
  14. Oi yoi yoi. Pretty jealous of y’all that don’t live in Southern California. I’m gonna have to show ya what it’s like to have 4k+ records in small-ish apartment, when I get home. It’s not pretty.
  15. Are you not familiar with Fantastic Planet?? A universally loved record that wasn’t pressed until 14 years after it was released, has had only two pressings and is insanely rare to come by for cheaper than 4-5 times what they’re charging. A record that’s only gotten more popular in the 26 years since it’s release and will continue to. You may bitch and moan about it, but not bad for what it is, if you ask me. Its also Failure.
  16. I’ve been waiting since 9:00 AM PST for the AZ 3/18 show. I’m at about 20% down the line.
  17. It’s Project M, it’s expected. No one there seems to know what they’re doing. Just like every fulfillment company in the US.
  18. Yeah, I need that box set. Buy shit from me so I can afford this! Thank you.
  19. Are those all official releases(non-boots)? If so, that’s wild.
