  1. $12 ticket is awesome. With their 7" out, I would assume they'd do it for $20-25, since it's a reunion. I hope they tour beyond the east coast. I haven't lived in Florida for 6 years and I took 'em for granted that they always played extra dates their since they were from the state. As an aside, I never saw FSF with Chris. Jason Gleason twice and Jon Bunch once.
  2. ^^^^ Absolutely. I forgot about them using this 'censored' cover because Jesse Smith had pin-up girls tattooed on his arms.
  3. Since parodies are still-a-comin', the bad lip reader's take on RB's "Friday"
  4. Out of Stock. I was determined to get it but the shits was screwed up earlier.
  5. This artwork is way better. But back in 1999, seeing a dude who wasn't in Stryper wearing eyeliner was pretty controversial for the Christian community. Since Zao were still known as a "Christian" band then, it was a bit of a noise maker. They got the attention they were looking for. So while the artwork wasn't great, the reaction was, thus Zao succeeded.
  6. Coolio. Oh, and +1 for the Arrested Development reference above.
  7. raiden, I started playing limit games on FTP because I find myself going 'all in' when it's unnecessary. I won two small games in the past 2 days. Of course, I just donked out of another one. But i find that I remain more patient when I can't lose all my chips at one fell swoop.
  8. Does he have merch at house shows? I've never been to one and I'll be seeing him in a few weeks. Just curious.
  9. That thing isn't going oop anything soon. I'm sure he'll be up in Canada while touring for the new album due out in May.
  10. The LP for CYB is still available at www.davidbazan.com. I got Headphones off eBay for like $7 but the dick shipped it crappy so I told him to refund my shipping. So I got it for $3.
  11. When "They're Only Chasing Safety" came out, I thought the title fit the sound. Now, after I listen to it years later, the third track "The Impact of Reason" is one of my favorite UO songs. I think that album gets some crap because it's not as 'metal' but they're some really promising moments that they never explored further beyond the record.
  12. Maybe you'll get lucky with one off eBay. You can always grab the 7" separately.
  13. Dude, that's nuts. He still has skill, regardless of his backing. He still won a lot of big touneys last year.
  14. That guy who is called 'The Grinder,' Michael Mizrachi, is pretty good. He won a ton of tourney's last year and made it to the final table at the WSOP.
  15. Buckley's version is also a cover. It could actually be considered a cover of a cover. Hallelujah was first written by Leonard Cohen, and then covered by John Cale. Buckley's version most resembles Cale's. I'm 30, so this information isn't news to me. I guess I could have worded it better. I just meant that most people I talk to prefer Buckley's cover to Cale's or Cohen's version. Bazan"s is really good.
  16. I love Bazan's cover of both songs. Even though Jeff Buckley's "Hallelujah" is quintessential, Bazan's cover rivals the song. I did the preorder thing for the Bazan record. I asked Bob and Dave if buying a test was possible and they said they would look into it. I think they ended up doing like 5 or 10, and Bob said they weren't selling any. Quite a bummer.
  17. So much said has been quite interesting. Mr. raidenradio, that was a good story. And it's rad you played in the WSOP. I get board easily, so sitting for hours, even online, just creates the need within me to take chances I wouldn't take with real money on the line. Usually, when I'm feeling the need to just take chances, I'll enter a big stakes game with the play money, which I've accrued 50K easily. But the play money, nobody plays that seriously. Like I said, a lot of truth was spoken. I love going to home games. It's my dream to be as good to play at the WSOP but I'm just not that competitive, nor do I have the money to spend.
  18. I play at FTP. Although, I don't have the skill/luck that raidenradio has. FTP has multiple freerolls a day, which means you can play for free a lot of the time. I have deposited maybe $100 over a couple years. I only have $8 right now. It's a good way to learn trends and how people make calls with x amount of chips. A good way of learning the game. But I've been playing poker for a while and I can say assuredly that nothing compares to playing real hands in a cash game. People online are generally stupid, or act stupid. They don't make good calls. And as you know, in poker, sometimes that can hurt you. People make ridiculous calls online that they would never make in a real game simply because they're on a computer. I like FTP because they have so many variations of cash games. It's not a money maker, but the Matrix is a really fun thing for me. I like the action.
  19. If it's legit and you need money, do it until you find something else. Best way to get another job is to have a job, period. I don't know why, but stats show you're more likely to get a job if you have a job.
  20. I don't think $25 for a 180g double LP is that outrageous. Pre-ordered my copy. Let's just hope the album is better than their last. I'm afraid you're looking to the wrong band for that expectation. I think they're still better than most, but they've peaked, IMO.
