  1. I hate jagwire, it's in the same wheelhouse as nuke-u-ler
  2. That's cool. That makes sense. I guess I'm just not in that mindset. First come, first serve. That's fair to me.
  3. My feelings are somewhere in between the two arguments, obviously leaning toward not liking it. In my view, what's the point of entertaining offers when you really aren't going to accept anything that isn't near the price you've created in your head, I'm assuming, unless it's above? If I have a $100 record and ask for offers, I'm looking for $100+. But is it really fair to be looking and hoping for that +? If you have a record--regardless of if I know a general going-for value or not--I'm way too afraid to offend and look like a jerk by lowballing, and why would I want to waste my own money and go over? I feel like value is value, give or take a few bucks.
  4. Duuuude I'm so with you on this one. I can't even wrap my head around it. We both know you have a general price you want, why not just tell me what that is and I'll buy it? In fact, if I ask someone about a record on here and they tell me to just make an offer, I won't buy it from them. I understand that probably makes me an ass, but I don't play those babygames. I think the line of thinking is that maybe you'll offer more than they would ask for so they can get more money? I don't know.
  5. Vinyl Collective: don't talk crap about Brand New or double-spacing. Guess it's more prevalent than I thought it was. Neither I nor anyone I know in my general age was ever taught it. In fact, it was never even mentioned that it was a thing, so I thought it was just people typoing for the longest time until I realized it's mostly just older people who do it. I feel sorry for mentioning it, feel like I made more enemies than friends hahaha. Anyway. I'm done. I've got thoughts on this whole "no Facebook" thing.
  6. I know a lot of girls who hate the word moist too, must be baked into their genes haha. I also hate the word belly and I was trying to tell a friend about the two and it just... hurt my teeth to say. I had to prepare to say the P word, I can't even imagine muttering "moist panties" hahaha
  7. What you're saying can be applied to anything in this thread, and essentially negates having feeling toward anything, as there is always going to be something worse. Why care about the terms our friends use when they're not hurting anyone? For fun, and we all have our quirks. It was not directed at you, man. I just think it's easily noticeable, unnecessary with today's technology, and I can think of no major publications that practice the two-space (and all but one style guide advise against it), so it's just superfluous and needs to go the way of the dodo. The only reason I brought it up is because a coworker ranted to me about it today and I agreed with her. Thought it kiiiiinda fit into this thread. It'll die off eventually as time moves on, just like the big, ornate letter at the beginning of sentences did, and cursive will.
  8. Everyone stop using the word panties. It's by far the worst. Not a verbalized thing, obviously, but I can't stand when people put two spaces before the following sentence after a period. You aren't using a fucking typewriter, get over it and live in 2014.
  9. I got a package in the mail the other day and the corner was a little bent. As I was opening it, I saw my mailman had scribbled on the back near the damage, "I received it like this, sorry. Hope it's okay." I've bragged about him in this thread before, but seriously, if that isn't the nicest thing. Didn't even think about taking a picture, would have posted it here. Needs a little positivity every now and again. Wish all you guys could have my mailman.
  10. Looking through his other items, those uncut picture discs are kinda cool to see. Very interesting lot.
  11. Got mine in from Amazon today, it's the orange one. Don't know if that was already known or not. Can't speak to how it sounds because my turntable is out of commission. tear
  12. I am so impressed with this album. Wide Open is probably my favorite.
  13. Oh wow, didn't realize it was coming from Australia. Happy to hear there'll be a better option.
  14. AND SHIPPING IS $30.20. Is this for real? $66.56 for one album. I don't normally participate in the 'here's how much a record should cost' argument, but this is the dumbest thing I've ever seen. Very disappointed.
  15. This is up. http://closureinmoscow.mywaterfrontstore.com/Product/45258/0 Band says it's a limited pressing (but no numbers) so we'll see how that goes. Black 2x LP for an August 15 release. Crazy price though. $36.36!?
  16. This just gets better and better with every listen. I was afraid I overhyped it, but I really, really like this. Love Wake Me. The Yoko track seems to be the most esoteric.
  17. Finally got my hands on this by buying it from a Dutch website hahahahah. IT'S GOOD.
  18. Friend sent me a link to this band last night on Spotify, I'd never heard of them before. Excited to get the striped in the mail. Good timing I guess.
  19. Wow, that does look really cool. I like the juxtaposition against the monotone cover. And by the way, this album has been out for an entire day in Australia, HOW IS IT NOT OUT IN THE ETHER YET. All I want is to hear it. The anticipation is killing my soul.
  20. Got my pledge version in the mail today and it came daaaaaamaged. The records themselves are thankfully okay but the score book and sleeve make me sick to my stomach to look at. First time that's ever happened to me.
