  1. Anyone use a Chromebox or Chromebook as a primary computer? I'm thinking about buying a Chromebox and going all in ChromeOS, but there's still a lot of limitations w/ software (e.g., no TurboTax, can't use eMusic, etc.). Granted I wouldn't be tossing my Windows machine in the trash right away, but am looking for thoughts on those who have committed to ChromeOS.
  2. I know I'm not owed anything from anyone in terms of a comment, but I'd really like to hear something from Mike about this -- he's been so adamant for so long that doing a reunion wouldn't be right to the time and place of the material. I don't blame anyone for taking the $$$$ if the demand is there (and clearly it is), and we all know how unforgiving this world can be when you're supporting a family, but this is a bit of a head-scratcher. Maybe he was just tired of his 'friends' doing Judge cover bands across Europe and taking all of the credit and money...
  3. I got through law school on literally a 12 cup pot of coffee in the morning and another at night. Can't say I always finished it, but it was usually close. And it also led me to the doctor after significant and scary heart palpitation issues. Old man Jordan can't handle 64oz of coffee in a 1-2 hour session anymore. The Keurig, to my betterment, keeps me disciplined.
  4. Whoops! Probably should have read that closer. Glad to see another Escapist enthusiast though!
  5. Have had my trusty Keurig for 3.5 years, use it at least 2-3 times a day since I also work at home. It's like a schedule at this point - first brew at 7:30 right before I settle into my desk, 2nd brew at 2pm. For maintenance, when the grinds start to clog up the nozzle, I definitely recommend several rinses with water and vinegar. I've had two 'near misses' with mine where I thought it was a goner, but after enough rinses, it's come back to form. Since the actual cup capsules are off-patent now, there should be more and more cheaper options and more private-label/store brand cups. Wegmans started their own line a few months ago and they are usually in that 40-45 cents a cup range. Kohl's is also good in getting cups w/ coupons and sales, especially Starbucks. For bulk orders, I use Bigcatcoffees.com which has a huge selection. I usually stick to dark roast or extreme bold flavors only as I think they are closest in form for 'regular' coffee taste. The Dunkin Donuts cups are the best though in my opinion as they taste exactly like coffee brewed in their stores. This was the first time I've seen someone talk about owning a Vue. I've thought about upgrading b/c of the larger cup sizes but the lack of cheap cup options is the big inhibitor.
  6. Hadn't listened to that Changing Face release in years! Keep up the great work Mike.
  7. Thought it might be a good idea to plug this on here since some of you are dads and may know some of the contributors. Dadsnotpunk.com is a new 'dad blog' formed by a bunch of Punknews.org and I was asked to join in as well. We've got a few weeks of posts up. Thanks!
  8. I have somewhere around 4000 cds in 200 unit booklets and I almost never go through the booklets anymore. I keep them around b/c I can't let go, but everything has been backed up via cloud service, and honestly, most days I never get past listening to music that isn't on Rdio anymore.
  9. We did Chinese on Xmas eve this year. My kids are too young for the movies, but we'll hit our Jewish celebratory stride in a few years. At least Walgreens was open.
  10. Thanks. I also use Amazon's cloudmusic player, so that's another plus there. Knowing that whatever upgrade to 4.1 will come to Nexus soon is enticing too. Decisions, decisions.
  11. Anyone have either one of these? I'm looking to upgrade my Kindle and am tempted by the Fire HD, but also realize the Nexus, as a pure tablet, has more to offer in user control and features. On the other hand, I have Amazon Prime and the Prime benefits are huge on the Fire. Any user comments would be appreciated.
  12. Google+ actually has a huge user base, but it's not quite being used as as originally hoped for and is really kind of submerged. Integration of G+ into most new Android phones is pretty deep and with its auto-photo/video upload/management tools and that's where a lot of the action is. Not a threat to FB obviously, but in its own way, G+ has a lot going for it for Google account power users.
  13. Really dug that Prize Country release you put out, still floors me whenever I bust it out.
