You guys doing the show tomorrow? I can't wait, my girlfriend has been on a huge Mogwai kick so I don't feel so bad saying "Babe lets watch the post-rock show" haha
Totally doing the UK version - can't wait!

Actually I preemptively give up, I don't care enough about this. Enjoy your overpriced Metallica records! I will continue to own 0 of them!

DRI still play 200 cap rooms in the US ≠ Metallica being one of the biggest and most recognizable bands of the last 40 years. That’s how that equation works.
Hey fellow Whigs fan, please don't address me as though I'm a moron - obvs I know they're not equivalent, but if you look at the price of Michael Jackson or Fleetwood Mac records it does seem weird that the price vs. popularity of Metallica records is off kilter.

Honestly just looking for a line on some cheap early Metallica records 😁

Right, which is why they have pressed boatloads of these records over the years, but still they're somehow still insanely expensive?

Don't give a f about colour, etc, just would like to get decent copies of the first 4 Metallica records for < $15 each (new or used) shipped to the UK. Walmart can f right off in my books, though I was deeply conflicted on this one as an easy grab.
I guess this places me as a mild fan, but one that recognises their influence. Easy to get a DRI record for $10, but Metallica records second hand are somehow insanely expensive.

I've got one of these I could let go of - do you have a trade list or Discogs for-sale list, as I'd rather pick up something else vs. sell? Based in the UK. Thanks!

Looks like the first vinyl reissue of this great record from the Scud Mountain Boys, who went on to form the Pernice Brothers. Was initially issued by Sub Pop but looks to be being repressed by an EU label - no sign of a US reissue. Reissue date from Rough Trade looks like December 13:

So, just out of curiosity, what's the highest anyone has stacked Kallax shelves? Would a 2x2 on top of a 2x4 stacked vertically be asking for trouble?
I've got two 4x4s with a 2x4 stacked on top horizontally with no issues, if that's any help. Pro tip: securing the dowels with wood glue when assembling makes them a bit more durable, but obviously makes them un-tear-down-able during a move... My setup also allows for some box set space on the top, as there are some surfaces to lean against and that don't need the strict headroom that the records in the Kallax need to adhere to
Edit: sorry, just realised how insanely old this post was - not trying to revive a dead thread!

+1 for Mare Vitalis - Fishing the Sky was my intro to, and still IMO the best track by these guys. Hyped for the new record!

Hey, I've got an extra first press of Songs, Ideas We Forgot if you're looking for that one as well. No extras of The Book About Me, easily my favorite record by these guys!

Just PM'ed. I'm in the US and would like to jump in if we're doing a group order.
Cool, you're the first - if others are interested, let me know. Might be worth someone running the numbers to see at what point it breaks even vs. people doing individual orders.
-
I'm in the UK if batching up an order to the US from here is any better than from Spain - maybe if a bunch of people are in it could be worth it? Message me if I can help!

Just spotted that Spanish label BCoreDiscs has picked up a reissue of this record. Total of 500, 150 of them of blue vinyl only available through their web store:
http://bcstore.bcoredisc.com/BStore/releases/shudder-to-think
They've also announced a reissue of Shiner's The Egg today, and have previously issued Jeremy Enigk's records in Europe which I've bought. They're definitely legit, I've visited their storefront in Barcelona. But shipping to the US is a bit painful - maybe worth it for the Shudder To Think record though?

I would love that Death Cab for Cutie 7" of I Was A Kaleidoscope but, I'm afraid shipping will cost more than the actual record. Nice collection though.
Ah, sorry, I brought that one the wrong direction! UK shipping is a bit more reasonable than USPS, just let me know if you'd like me to calculate it for you.

Hey, US resident relocated to the UK + record collection, so may be able to save some people shipping money - let me know if there's anything you need.
Discogs store - actively looking to sell these:

Hey there, happy to help. PM me!
-
Anything cooler (besides color) about these vs. the OG pressings? Heavier weight, smaller pressings?
-
-
I'm happy to help, looks like free shipping to me in the UK - PM me and we can sort it out.

Shining OST is so good - my wife got it for me for my birthday this year. Good luck with the sale!

I just got my bloody clear and it is a thing of beauty.

For those headed to Kingston for Banquet, there's also a used record shop around the corner - mostly older stuff, but I've found a few decent things here in the past:
Wish they had a "Recent Arrivals" section, but what can you do?
FS: Boatload of used records, CDs, and 7"s - 90-00s indie, emo, rock, post-rock - Damien Jurado, Bazan, Tortoise, Appleseed Cast, EITS, Russian Circles test pressings, Refused

Clearing out the cupboard, happy to wheel and deal for VC members, or up for trades as well. Here's the list:

Also have a few bits (mostly CDs) up on eBay at the minute, but happy to take them down if people want to make offers:

I'll ship internationally (I'm in the UK, and shipping to the US is way cheaper than going the other way), shout if you'd like a quote. Obvs happier to cut a deal for taking a bunch of stuff off my hands. Thanks VC!
