White copy arrived from Saki today

I'm not sure if I was the only one that was unsure about this but they've updated the Facebook page and it looks like the white vinyl was a web exclusive and there will be a standard black vinyl release available at retail. They've also shared the track Everyone's Summer Of '95 on Soundcloud. I'm pretty excited about this release. It seems to be made up of exactly the type of recordings I enjoy most from Iron & Wine. It would have been cool to get in on the white vinyl release but I'll be more than content with the standard release.

The original Rabbit Fur Coat pressing was black and the second press was red. It hasn't been unavailable for all that long. I remember passing on a copy at one her shows not more than two years ago because they were easily available and I thought I'd pick one up later. I'm not sure when they all sold out, but it couldn't have been that long ago. Prices skyrocketed quickly. I'm sure we'll see another pressing at some point.

My fiancee bought one direct from Jenny Lewis's store so definitely not a bootleg. Now if only Rabbit Fur Coat would get repressed...

I've seen a few preorders for these stating that they are being released by Sanctuary. Looking forward to picking up A&E. One of my favorite Spiritualized albums, which I picked up on CD at release. Original pressings of Amazing Grace are easy to find for relatively low prices. Has anyone listened to the 3 limited edition EPs that Amazing Grace was split into for the original release? Is there a notable difference in fidelity compared to the LP?

Cool, thanks for the info. I wonder what the big gap is all about on potential pricing. For $200 I'm in for a copy if I find one. For $300 I'll pass. I'm guessing it will be $300 everywhere.I do wish they had left the CDs out and kept the price lower. Seems a bit overkill to include both formats in the same set.

The thought a $35 4lp boxed set seemed like a no-brainer... Until I realized that the 2 additional lps only get you 4 additional tracks and spread out the tracklisting in a fashion that is guaranteed to discourage me from listening to the album. I'll be going with the standard edition.

Anyone have any idea on what the price might be for this one?

I'm not enjoying this one very much. So far, I'd probably place it towards the bottom in the ranks of Oldham's work. I definitely prefer the sound of Wolfroy, which I thought was a fantastic record. For those still searching for a copy of the deluxe edition, my order from Reckless shipped a couples days ago (yet to arrive). It's still listed on their site, so perhaps they're still able to fill more orders.

Thanks for the heads up on this. Was able to put in an order on my lunch break earlier for 2 Rancid albums and 2 Clash albums for $33 after tax. Hopefully HT follows through with the orders but I can believe this was a mistake and wouldn't hold it against them if they cancelled. Does anyone know if there's a new crop of clearance vinyl in the stores? Seeing these 2 Rancid LPs on clearance makes me wonder if the other Rancid exclusive pressings may be marked down in their stores.

I've already had about $350 worth of records ship from Insound and just submitted another order for $48. I can't imagine how much I would have spent if so many items I wanted hadn't been on backorder.

You're not missing out on much by not hearing Wilding In The West. It's a pretty weak release. Also, I am jealous of some of the releases you own.

Damn, I had no idea they had added Dream Song to the MOV pressing. While I do enjoy picking up limited, colored vinyl pressings, I would much rather have a more complete recording. Perhaps if DPR gives us a limited pressing of Land Of Rape & Honey I'll pick up one up... It seems like all of these Let Them Eat Vinyl live records are grey market bootlegs, correct? I've seen a number of them released for Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen and a number of other artists but have never seen any artist endorse them.

Rollins is totally spot-on. People who enjoy collecting multiple unique pressings are scum. They should find a more fulfilling hobby--like shitting on other people for the harmless hobbies that they enjoy partaking in. Honestly, the idea of collecting multiple pressings only appealed to me as a teenager, probably because my scope of music was much more limited. Now I'm more than content to have a single copy, though I may make an effort to find a unique pressing if the cost is similar. The money spent on a second copy is better spent on a piece of music I do not have already, so it seems like a waste to me. That said, why would I care whether or not somebody else does it? Looking down on somebody for the harmless things they do with their own time and resources and referring to them as "scum" is pretty pathetic.

Yes, please. Let It Come Down, which is the one studio album being reissued here, is more similar to the last 2 albums than anything before it, so if you enjoy Songs In A&E and Sweet Heart, Sweet Light than you should like it as well. When you start looking at earlier material (especially the first 2; Lazer Guided Melodies and Pure Phase) the sound is more psychedelic and less radio-friendly and pop influenced (though every album they've done show both sides of their sound). Their third album, Ladies And Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space, seems to be considered their defining album and is worth every bit of hype it receives. Amazing Grace and Sweet Heart, Sweet Light are the two albums I find least memorable. Ladies And Gentlemen... and Songs In A&E are my favorites (I'm not sure how many people agree with me on most of these). The other two being released here are live recordings. Fucked Up Inside I have never heard and Royal Albert Hall I have only listened a couple times (a couple years ago) but remember it being pretty enjoyable. Never got a chance to really take it in.

My girlfriend and I went to Amoeba Hollywood in '12 to pick up a few things after waiting in line and buying most of what we wanted at Origami and do not plan on visiting Amoeba for RSD again. A line that was still wrapped around the block that took a couple hours to get through. They get a ton of copies of most everything, but there are so many people that there's really nothing they can do to make the experience very enjoyable. It is worth noting that the line that wraps around the block is specifically for RSD releases. They have a list posted a board at the entrance allowing employees to mark items off as they sell out. You're given a list to write down what you want and they put together your order when you approach the front of the line, then ring you up for and give you what they had left. I'm up in Northern California now, but if I was still down there I'd still be going to Origami. The people that work there are friendly and they only allow around 10 people in the store at a time to shop around without being too crowded or rushed. The first person in line gets to shop around alone in the store to ensure they get what they want.
