Ride sound like Stone roses? Err, not really. The rather feeble very late stuff perhaps, but the good early EPs and first album are JAMC-style screaming feedback with nice tunes underneath. Youre also missing some of the greats on the scene - the superb Pale Saints, Kitchens of Distinction, Lush, Moose plus the precursers like House of Love, Loop, Spacemen 3. Chapterhouse, Catherine Wheel and Swervedriver are all great bands, but not shoegazer or dreampop, more indie-rock. To those I would also add one of my faves, "The Edsel Auctioneer" and a slightly later band "My Vitriol". if the OP wants some more modern bands doing that sound, check out "Dreams of being Pure at Heart" and "Jezabels"

Thats probably because you never actually PLAY your vinyl - The only way to keep them really dust free is run a decent needle down the groove. Taking a record out of its sleeve (particularly if you dont have anti-static inners) and just waving it around in the air for a few seconds will attract mroe dust than just laying it on the floor (unless your floor is really cruddy, but I own (and use) a vacuum-cleaner)

So my Flight 13 copy came today - as otherwise reported standard US-pressing of the LP with a blue bonus single. In my case tehy just laid teh single in the package and didnt even slit the shrinkwrap ;-). If anyones interested the single is in a darker, less translucent wax than the LP, is labelled "for promotion only" and has a matrix "TU 207.363 A / B"

Iconic, yes. Influential in as far as they kick started 90% of the music I love, yes. Totaly crap, sub-blues-rock record if you actually listen to it, yes.
