  5. Hey guys. I know it seems like these “Kickstart my project” threads don’t really go over well, and I’m not really one to “self-promote,” but this isn’t my project. It’s for my very good, and in my opinion, incredibly talented, friend. He’s been playing music for quite a long time. Had a band for a few years, and then about 7 years ago he started doing a solo project called See More Glass. He released an EP called “If You Really Want To Hear About It...” and to this day it’s still one of my favorite EP’s I’ve heard. Now 7 years later, he’s released a new EP called “Graveyard Gertie” which was produced by Aaron Troyer from the band Come Wind. I was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to direct the music video for his new song “He Has His Fathers Eyes” and it was shot by my other very talented friend. Anyways, the new EP came out today along with a Kickstarter to try and get it pressed. For the rewards you get to choose from, I’d say the prices are a hell of a deal. So yeah, check out the music video, and if you like that, check out the full EP on Bancamp (along with his first EP) and then buy it or back the Kickstarter. Share with anyone if you’re so inclined as well. It’s only up for a month and it would mean the world to all involved. Thanks guys . https://seemoreglass.bandcamp.com/
  6. What utter gobshite bandwagon jump on fuckery is this? Another one on kickstarter and I weep that they crow about the fact it's made in good old blighty http://minesaudio.com/thealpha/ Spot the tracking issue and the bollocks that goes along with it in the write up, I do hope it comes with a free pipe bender so you can make it track correctly. I'm assuming the arm is far too long so that there is enough arm there to allow you to bend it to get the correct tracking angle. Everything else to be fair looks ok and if it's just a mockup I would hope they'd at least try and make it look right but if they are going to completely balls up one of the fundamentals of vinyl record replay then I don't hold out a lot of hope for the rest of it. Sadly another case of form over function and another turntable for the facial topiary enjoying Bose lover I feel
  7. Scott Sinclair of Hot Water Music artwork/Bioshock fame is making an Oregon Trail style game that looks a lot cooler. Digital soundtrack is essentially a new Chuck Ragan record from what I can tell. In order to get the soundtrack you've got to pledge $35. Wish they did a vinyl option. As I don't really play games on my computer, I find it tough to spend $35 on a digital album... In case anyone's interested: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/molassesflood/the-flame-in-the-flood Edit: You can hear one song in the video on the page.
  8. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1184966134/brooklyn-vinyl-works-a-superior-record-pressing-pl Here is a kickstarter campaign to assist in the opening of a new pressing plant in Brooklyn. A lot of the pledges are guaranteed spots in line etc. if anyone is looking to get an album pressed.
  9. OHIOAN is making a new, ambitious, career-defining album and we need your support! just found about this great project. it's not really clear, but physical copies will be vinyl. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/405291971/ohioan-empty-every-mt/rewards you'll get a lot of great exclusive stuff. it's only 10 days left and i really hope, that this will happen.
  10. Sorry if this is a duplicate post. I searched, but didn't find this topic already. I'm interested in hearing the community's thoughts on this modular shelving option---seems a bit pricey, but an attractive alternative to Ikea shelves. -- https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/306095760/grow
  11. Hey all - Don't know if there will be any interest in this. I have had several people show interest in some Sparrow Sleeps albums on vinyl, so let's see how serious those people were. There's a Kickstarter campaign for a vinyl release of "Your Favorite Lullabies: Lullaby renditions of your favorite Brand New songs." Rewards include digital downloads, copies of the album on vinyl, custom lullabies, test pressings and more. I think this is the kind of project that Kickstarter was made for. I obviously don't know if there is a huge demand for Brand New lullabies on vinyl, but I guess we will find out in thirty days. 12. Thought some folks might be interested in this or perhaps would like to discuss. A small/compact, simple amplifier for your setup if you like your audio listening clean and uncluttered. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2022604828/sprout-hifi-stereo-amp-that-transforms-the-way-you Kickstarter Price: $450 Retail: $799
  13. St. Louis quartet TILTS and Robotic Empire have joined forces for a second Kickstarter campaign, appropriately to launch TILTS’ sophomore album, Cuatro Hombres: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/roboticempire/tilts-second-album-release-on-vinyl-digital-and-wa Like the previous collaboration two year ago, the band and label are creating an engaging album pre-order via Kickstarter, with “pledge rewards” ranging from simple (digital download, vinyl LP, t-shirt) to more involved (custom test press LP, live performance + delicious meal provided by the band in your town). An accompanying video has been unveiled including new music from the album and foolish footage of the band in the studio: Self-recorded by TILTS drummer Ken McCray in their own “Marmadook” home studios, the 10-track album is once again with Ian Whalen (RAH BRAHS, TOMBS, LAMB OF GOD) at his Richmond, Virginia studio for mixing. James Plotkin is also on deck again for mastering duties, with Tom Huck returning with detailed woodcut cover art. Although most of the elements are in place, the band and label are asking fans to pledge so the mix/master can get wrapped up, and the album put into production in time for TILTS’ summer tour in late June/early July. Several exclusive items are available only via this Kickstarter campaign, including the hand-made DILTS release, a collection of rare demos, studio alternates, rehearsal demos and other off-the-cuff musical meanderings. The Kickstarter campaign is also the first place to hear the (rough mix/unmastered) NEW song off the album, “Tiltanium Falcon”: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/roboticempire/tilts-second-album-release-on-vinyl-digital-and-wa Along with McCray on drums, TILTS is comprised of guitarist Andy White, bassist Shawn Hart and guitarist/vocalist Andrew Elstner, who's also a member of the active heavy outfit TORCHE. Elstner had the following to say: "We couldn't be more excited for this record. It's been an unbelievably crazy couple of years since the last release and the forces of darkness can get pretty intense, so it's great to get back to having a blast and doing what we love. These songs rule, my bandmates rule and having a good time all the time still rules." Robotic Empire label owner Andy Low also comments: “The first Kickstarter campaing we ran with these guys two years ago was a lot of fun. Despite a somewhat taboo nature in the vinyl/production/label world, Kickstarter can actually be used in a cool way for creating a more elaborate pre-order process. We hope to involve pledgers by having polls for voting on some production elements of the release, and the “custom test press” pledge reward was a big hit last time with some amazing and hilarious requests that came to light. Ultimately, we’re just hoping to get a badass LP into production from our dudes TILTS and feel this is the right avenue to do so.” This Kickstarter campaign is now live, and is set to run until Sunday, May 4th at 8pm EST: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/roboticempire/tilts-second-album-release-on-vinyl-digital-and-wa
  14. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/893216632/funeral-diner-the-underdark-vinyl-reissue "This is a project by the members of Funeral Diner and Repeater Records to repress the long out of print and influential screamo/hardcore album Funeral Diner "The Underdark" on vinyl with a digital download. This LP has been out of print since 2005. The repress will be on gray vinyl with original artwork on a cardstock cover."
  15. You probably haven't heard of Australian band The Schoenberg Automaton until now. The band's campaign is approaching the final 24hrs and they have <$900 left to meet the goal. I haven't read all the fine print so I'm unsure what happens if the goal is not met. I think I'm going to kick in the $56 CDN for the 2 hardcopy tab books + digital download. Learning stuff from bands like this is usually very tough by ear, and not enough people make an effort to transcribe and share so I think it would be a cool resource to have and at a very decent price. If you like death metal, deathcore, djent, grind, blastbeats, anything heavy and technical, take a peek, you might like it. I'm going to keep a close eye on this, if it gets close to the goal I think I'll have to put a hold on some albums I was planning on picking up in order to kick in for the tab books before it ends. To see if you might be interested, here you can listen to their previous album in full: Pitch in / check out the rewards they are offering here: http://www.pozible.com/tsa
  16. so Devon Kay & The Solutions are at it again. back in november, we released their first full length "Losing IT" as a limited run CD. there's been a lot of people asking when it's going to be pressed to vinyl, so we're going to leave that up to you guys. PRE ORDER HERE! the blue copies will be exclusive to the pre-order, and the black copies will be available after that at shows and on the website. if you've never listened to DK&S before, or just haven't heard Losing IT yet, head on over to the bandcamp page and stream it for free: LISTEN TO IT HERE! anything help you can give (whether it's $1, $100, or even just sharing the link to spread the word) would go a long way and be greatly appreciated. however, the pre-order isn't just for Losing IT on vinyl... devon's been living in boston the last 6 months or so, and has written a new EP's worth of songs. since the rest of the band still lives here in chicago, recording these new songs is going to take some help, too. all of the band's current savings are going toward getting devon back to chicago, so whatever help you can give would go toward covering recording costs. we're trying to get this all taken care of in time for Fest, which DK&S will be playing again this year. the sooner we reach the goal, the sooner we can get the ball rolling. please donate what you can, and help spread the word if you believe in what we're doing. we all sincerely appreciate it. -dan
  17. Didn't see this posted already. Very interesting... *Emphasis mine https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/watmmofficial/cat023-caustic-window-own-the-legendary-record-by http://www.discogs.com/Caustic-Window-Caustic-Window-LP/release/482493
  18. So this is a bit late and I realize now that I should have posted this in here weeks ago when I pledged for this Kickstarter, but this post-rock band from Michigan is awesome and they are trying to press their new album on vinyl as well as CD. There's only 5 days left and they have just over $500 dollars to go so your help would really be appreciated. These guys really deserve to be funded so they can make a physical release possible. Here is their Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/sunlightascending You can download all of their previous works here: http://sunlight-ascending.bandcamp.com/ And here is the link to the Kickstarter: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sunlightascending/sunlight-ascending-leaving-my-waiting-room I know some people may not want to pledge for the $35 dollar bundle which is the cheapest one with vinyl because it is the digital release, the physical CD, and also the vinyl, but I commented on their Facebook about not wanting the new album in 3 formats and would rather replace the CD with a t-shirt and they said that would be fine so I highly recommend you choose that $35 option and just message them to let them know you'd like a t-shirt instead of the CD. Please help these dudes out!
  19. Hey everyone! I just launched my new kick starter project! The reason behind the project is to show people the the entire country who can not travel and see things for themselves! Whether its financial reasons, medical, or just too many obligations I will show them the country through a photo book I will create! The project can be seen here http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/stephen-sutter/vagabond-a-boy-a-bus-a-camera-a-dream Any and all backings of the project are fantastic! Thank you all for reading my post! If you have any questions feel free to ask!
  20. Hello! I'm trying to buy the Cobra Juicy mask in ugly orange from the Black Moth Super Rainbow kickstarter. I'm willing to throw 150.00 Dollars for it. PM me or leave a reply if you can help a brother out. Thanks muchly!
  21. For anyone who is looking for a really nice-sounding preamp at an affordable price, you might consider the 2nd generation of the Hagerman Bugle. There's a Kickstarter campaign that just launched. $100 gets you the kit version of the preamp, which comes with everything you need. All you'll have to do put the components where they need to go and solder them in place. I've built three different preamps so far and it's really very easy ... and a lot of fun once you get the hang of it. You can also pledge $150, which will get you the preamp fully assembled, tested and ready to rock. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1907446723/bugle2-a-diy-phono-preamp?play=1&ref=search I built the first generation Bugle and in my opinion, it's really hard to get something as nice sounding at that price point. For anyone using a built-in preamp or the phono stage in you receiver, the Bugle would be a pretty significant step forward sonically. And for my money, I think it sounds better than its competitors at the $150 - $200 range. Oh, the majority of the kickstarter money is going to be for customized clear plastic cases for the preamp. Kind of cool ... so you can see your handiwork.
  22. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1365060197/hibou-usa-tour-kickstarter A super cool guy doing a lot of touring this Fall/Winter check him out He used to drum for Craft Spells, his pre-order is soon to come but will have vinyl on hand at his shows.
  23. Sammy Kay and the East Lost Three are doing a Kickstarter style campaign for their new album "Love Letters" http://bigtun.es/projects/index/2 15$ gets you black vinyl, 20$ gets you limited red vinyl! If you haven't heard of Sammy Kay, he's the previous bassist of The Forthrights. Guests on this album include Vic Ruggiero from the Slackers! Also follow Sammy Kay on Facebook for updates: http://www.facebook.com/sammykayandthefastfour?group_id=0 Super excited about this, please show some support so we can get an excellent debut album from Sammy!
  24. Zammuto is doing an Indiegogo campaign to fund their next record. Fully funded with 44 days left to go.
  25. Fellow Flayer of Fearsome Fanged Flyers, Hold on to your proverbial helmet, because I've got big news: I Fight Dragons is making a new album. Not an "album" like a CD though, we mean an actual LP Vinyl record. (which also comes with a high quality digital download) It's going to include a 20-minute-long story-based song suite with an oversized companion graphic novel. That story involves a kid who gets superpowers, a parallel dimension, a love story, and some epic battles. Plus, the vinyl itself might be flourescent blue. Or even glow in the dark. Basically we're going to make the most epic album we can possibly conceive of. We want to create an artifact for the ages, a glowing slab of vinyl wrapped in a gorgeous piece of artwork, steeped in the mists of the future. The kind of album that would never in a million years get approved by any major label A&R department. ...But we can only create it if you'll join us. Thus we present, for your consideration, I Fight Dragons first-ever Kickstarter campaign: Project Atma. Everyone who joins us at any level will get exclusive new IFD music throughout the campaign, the first piece of which is an immediate download of a new IFD song called "Burnadette." There are also rewards aplenty, from the gorgeous physical album itself to getting your name in the credits to getting your voice on the album, signed gameboys, goggles, guitars, shields, flags, controllers, and even crazier stuff beyond that. Many of the top-tier rewards are quite limited though, so if you want to stake something out be sure to get it before it gets snagged by someone else: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1899688657/project-atma-i-fight-dragons-creates-an-epic-new-a Whatever happens, we're honored to have you with us on this journey, standing by our side as we take this flying leap from the ridiculously high cliff that is Kickstarter and hope that we learn to fly before we hit the ground. Or at least that we maybe invent jet packs. Here goes nothing Your friendly neighborhood Dragon Fighters, Brian, Chad, Bill, Packy, and Hari
