  1. Hey there, Looking to buy: - Spray Paint tour edition - Test press Can't find much info on the Test Press, figured I would as here. Thanks!

  3. Moved to ebay. Thanks for your interest.
  4. We are extremely stoked to announce our second tribute to Nirvana, this time with their breakout Nevermind album being covered in full by a diverse range of bands. The new tribute LP, titled Whatever Nevermind, is being released April 18th in conjunction with Record Store Day 2015, and sees diverse contributions from Boris, Cave In, Circa Survive, Kylesa, La Dispute, Nothing, Pygmy Lush, Thou, Torche, Touche Amore, White Reaper, Wrong and Young Widows. The lineup assembled for Whatever Nevermind has some of our favorite active bands running Nirvana's classics through their own creative filters. What they've come up with is a great merging of individual style with a nod to the influence of 'grunge'. Nirvana clearly doesn't need further accolade; they've been inducted into the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame, are known by most music fans on the planet, and are one of the all-time greats. That being said, Nirvana helped shape our tastes and of countless musicians we respect, and to pay even a slight homage to them in return is a privilege. Working with the amazing range of talents involved here, including several return contributors from the first tribute LP, is an absolute honor, and we can't wait for people to hear the results. Circa Survive's take on 'Drain You' premieres today via Alternative Press and can be heard here: http://www.altpress.com/features/entry/circa_survive_cover_nirvanas_drain_you_exclusive On their method of tackling the project, Brendan from Circa Survive says: "There are different ways to approach covering a band. For us, doing a Nirvana song takes us back to a very raw place that we were in when we were young and just falling in love with music. We didn't want to say 'here's what this song would've sounded like if Circa wrote it'. It was way more fun for us to live in their energy and pay homage to their influence by just rocking the shit out of it and keeping it raw." The vinyl edition of Whatever Nevermind is being released as a 12" + bonus 7" combined, with artwork inspired by and mutated from the original album, and includes a high-quality digital download. Record Store Day 2015 will see an exclusive color-vinyl edition accompanied by a large poster, akin to the 2014 RSD release of In Utero: In Tribute. The tribute will also be available April 18th to download/stream from all digital outlets, with digital pre-orders now available from iTunes including immediate availability of Circa Survive's cover of 'Drain You': https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/whatever-nevermind-tribute/id973746631 Last year's In Utero: In Tribute vinyl sold out on release day, the digital version received a spotlight on the iTunes storefront and received coverage across high-profile media including Alternative Press, SPIN and The Guardian. As Robotic Empire's 100th release, "In Utero: In Tribute" concluded an oft-rumored, elusive 7-year project. Just one year later, the catalog number for followup homage "Whatever Nevermind" appropriately lands at Robo 116, as the label celebrates its 16th year of existence with this release. We couldn't be more proud and excited to present this to you! "Whatever Nevermind" Young Widows - Smells Like Teen Spirit Torche - In Bloom Kylesa - Come As You Are Cave In - Breed Boris - Lithium La Dispute - Polly White Reaper - Territorial Pissings Circa Survive - Drain You Touche Amore - Lounge Act Wrong - Stay Away Pygmy Lush - On A Plain Nothing - Something In The Way Thou - Endless, Nameless / Even In His Youth (Bonus Tracks)
  5. They just posted the following pic to fb, w/ the caption: 'Day 1.' Looks to be the same 4-piece line-up as the 2010 s/t album that came out on Hydra Head.
  6. St. Louis quartet TILTS and Robotic Empire have joined forces for a second Kickstarter campaign, appropriately to launch TILTS’ sophomore album, Cuatro Hombres: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/roboticempire/tilts-second-album-release-on-vinyl-digital-and-wa Like the previous collaboration two year ago, the band and label are creating an engaging album pre-order via Kickstarter, with “pledge rewards” ranging from simple (digital download, vinyl LP, t-shirt) to more involved (custom test press LP, live performance + delicious meal provided by the band in your town). An accompanying video has been unveiled including new music from the album and foolish footage of the band in the studio: Self-recorded by TILTS drummer Ken McCray in their own “Marmadook” home studios, the 10-track album is once again with Ian Whalen (RAH BRAHS, TOMBS, LAMB OF GOD) at his Richmond, Virginia studio for mixing. James Plotkin is also on deck again for mastering duties, with Tom Huck returning with detailed woodcut cover art. Although most of the elements are in place, the band and label are asking fans to pledge so the mix/master can get wrapped up, and the album put into production in time for TILTS’ summer tour in late June/early July. Several exclusive items are available only via this Kickstarter campaign, including the hand-made DILTS release, a collection of rare demos, studio alternates, rehearsal demos and other off-the-cuff musical meanderings. The Kickstarter campaign is also the first place to hear the (rough mix/unmastered) NEW song off the album, “Tiltanium Falcon”: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/roboticempire/tilts-second-album-release-on-vinyl-digital-and-wa Along with McCray on drums, TILTS is comprised of guitarist Andy White, bassist Shawn Hart and guitarist/vocalist Andrew Elstner, who's also a member of the active heavy outfit TORCHE. Elstner had the following to say: "We couldn't be more excited for this record. It's been an unbelievably crazy couple of years since the last release and the forces of darkness can get pretty intense, so it's great to get back to having a blast and doing what we love. These songs rule, my bandmates rule and having a good time all the time still rules." Robotic Empire label owner Andy Low also comments: “The first Kickstarter campaing we ran with these guys two years ago was a lot of fun. Despite a somewhat taboo nature in the vinyl/production/label world, Kickstarter can actually be used in a cool way for creating a more elaborate pre-order process. We hope to involve pledgers by having polls for voting on some production elements of the release, and the “custom test press” pledge reward was a big hit last time with some amazing and hilarious requests that came to light. Ultimately, we’re just hoping to get a badass LP into production from our dudes TILTS and feel this is the right avenue to do so.” This Kickstarter campaign is now live, and is set to run until Sunday, May 4th at 8pm EST: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/roboticempire/tilts-second-album-release-on-vinyl-digital-and-wa
  7. We are absolutely elated to announce Robotic Empire’s 100th release and 15-year-anniversary with the long-long-awaited Nirvana covers album, “In Utero: In Tribute: In Entirety”. Roughly half the label’s existence in the making, the 12-song tribute album collects tracks from a healthy variety of artists covering Nirvana’s final studio album in full. Including contributions from well-known groups Thursday and Circa Survive, longtime label cohorts Daughters, Young Widows, Pygmy Lush and Thou, new comrades Ceremony, Mean Jeans and Whirr, and some of the final recorded works from Jay Reatard, These Arms Are Snakes and Black Math Horseman – here is the full track listing: 1. Pygmy Lush – “Serve the Servants” 2. Circa Survive – “Scentless Apprentice” 3. These Arms Are Snakes – “Heart-Shaped Box” 4. Thursday – “Rape Me” 5. Jay Reatard – “Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge on Seattle” 6. Young Widows – “Dumb” 7. Mean Jeans – “Very Ape” 8. Thou – “Milk It” 9. Whirr – “Pennyroyal Tea” 10. Daughters – “Radio Friendly Unit Shifter” 11. Ceremony – “Tourette’s” 12. Black Math Horseman – “All Apologies” The vinyl edition is being released in conjunction with Record Store Day 2014 on April 19th, and comes on maroon vinyl with a huge RSD-exclusive poster. The digital release will become available on the same day, and can be pre-ordered via iTunes now: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/in-utero-in-tribute/id825844196 An immediate download of Jay Reatard’s version of “Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge on Seattle” is available with the digital release pre-order. Vice/Noisey have posted this newly-mastered version of Jay’s track – for which he recorded all instruments, and was sadly one of his last recordings – along with Mean Jeans’ appropriately rippin version of “Very Ape”: http://noisey.vice.com/blog/listen-to-jay-reatard-and-mean-jeans-cover-nirvana-songs “In Utero: In Tribute: In Entirety” comes out almost exactly 15 years to the date of Robotic Empire’s first release in April of 1999 (initially under the moniker of Robodog Records) – setting off a decade and a half of unleashing mutant music from the likes of Torche, Isis, pg.99, Floor, Pig Destroyer, Red Sparowes, Jesu, The Red Chord and many others. “It has been a privilege to introduce so many unique bands to likeminded freaks over the past 15 years. Looking back at what’s transpired almost seems unreal, and even with a shameful carbon footprint of many thousand plastic circles – I can safely say that it has been an honor to work with the artists we have, and a hearty thank you is due to all who’ve listened thus far. I genuinely hope you’ll enjoy this tribute to one of the bands who first showed me the strange side of music. Nirvana was truly one of the greats, and we’ve done our best to craft an appropriate homage to so many people’s all-time favorite band.” – Andy Low / Robotic Empire
  8. Hey! I missed out on this because I'm a huge dummy. Would prefer the Maroon copy, but black would be cool too. PM me.
  9. From Robotic Empire's Instagram : For those of you who aren't familiar : I'm looking forward to this.
  10. For one of the most prolific heavy bands around, THOU have really outdone themselves lately. Along with their stunning new longplayer Heathen, the Louisiana group also serve up The Sacrifice, a 5 track EP recorded at the same time but of a distinctly different vibe. The overall tempo is increased compared to Heathen, focusing more on sludgey dirges than expansive gloom. However THOU's trademark doom and roar is still very present, on masterful display in condensed form. With a companion drone piece and classic NIRVANA cover ("I Hate Myself and I Want to Die"), this 25-minute EP is now available on Robotic Empire on vinyl and cassette. The 12" vinyl comes on clear 180 gram heavyweight vinyl, in a "tip-on" style casewrapped jacket with flood black interior. The cassette edition is limited to 200 copies and comes in a two-color silkscreened J-card. Both editions include a high-quality digital download. * You can stream the full EP now via local Louisiana outfit 225 Magazine, and/or Soundcloud * The Sacrifice pre-orders are up now in the Robotic Empire - Online Store (The Sacrifice officially comes out April 29th, pre-orders are expected to ship roughly a week or so beforehand) Appropriately, a cassette edition of Heathen is also available, yielding THOU's most lurching, expansive material. A brilliant union of melody and dismay - with the biting social commentary the group has become renowned for. With ten tracks at over an hour's length, instrumental interludes break up the otherwise massive tracks. THOU have crafted their finest long-player yet, and Robotic Empire is thrilled to present the cassette edition. Limited to 200 copies and housed in a letterpress J-card, THOU once again brings the thunder with quality and class. * You can download Heathen now via Bandcamp, and/or iTunes or stream it on Spotify * Heathen cassettes are available now in the Robotic Empire - Online Store In conjunction with the new THOU releases and their US tour kicking off this month (see dates below), we have also properly revamped the landmark Baton Rouge, You Have Much To Answer For 12" EP. This pivotal release (for the band and for the label) initiated what has evolved into a series of lengthy "EP" releases with a crushing NIRVANA cover included. The absolutely bludgeoning Bleach-era tune "Sifting" is joined by two mammoth THOU originals and a monster drone tune. This release set the standard for our maze of collaborations with these guys, and accordingly we've re-issued it with 180 gram heavyweight vinyl, a ticker tip-on style gatefold jacket and all around beefed this thing up to the max. Since this comes out alongside the new "EP" The Sacrifice we figured we'd drop a sneaky coupon code folks can use to pick up both at a discount. If you order both on vinyl, fang in the "THOU25" coupon code at checkout, you can pick up both for $25. If there somehow wasn't enough new THOU activity right now, the dudes are hitting the road THIS week and we've printed up some phatty t-shirts for them to take along the journey. You can check out the full list to see a full list of their upcoming shows over the next month, plus their activity extending beyond the West Coast come June/July. If you won't be making it out to one of the aforementioned live rock concert gigs, we've got two THOU double-sided t-shirt designs up now in the Robotic Empire - Online Store To flip the script on how we pre-order a release, TILTS and Robotic Empire have joined forces once again for a Kickstarter campaign to release their sophomore album, Cuatro Hombres. Amazingly, and humblingly, we reached our initial goal in under 24 hours. We are utilizing the positive aspects of Kickstarter to create a more engaging pre-order, where folks can "pledge" for a variety of "rewards" ranging from the simple (digital download, vinyl LP, t-shirt) to the more involved (custom test presses, TILTS playing to you and your friends + cooking you a meal!) - Basically we're hoping to make it interesting and drum up some funds to not only press the new album, but also repress the debut LP as well. Although we quickly hit our initial goal, the amount we set realistically only covers part of the overall cost to make all this cool stuff - so we're hoping more cats will get in the mix on this pre-order and if/when we hit the 4k mark, we'll add the debut LP back into the mix for a special Kickstarter-only rate as well. Please check out the TILTS Kickstarter campaign for all kinds of cool jibba jabb, and/or preview a (rough mix & unmastered) new track now: * You can preview NEW song (rough mix & unmastered) "Tiltanium Falcon" on Soundcloud now! Beyond all this amazing Robo activity but still semi-related to our camp is the long-awaited, much-belabored HOUSE OF LIGHTNING album. Our friends in Texas, Fair Warning Records, have finally unleashed this beast of a debut, taking what was started with DOVE, upping the riff-tornado and generally screwin with your dome. Rising from the ashes like a mighty phoenix, HOUSE OF LIGHTNING features past and present members of DOVE, FLOOR, and CAVITY. Lightworker is a 10-song, 40-minute riff-rollercoaster that was recorded by Mark Nikolich at Atomic Audio (FLOOR, KYLESA) with brilliant jacket artwork by Francesco LoCastro. We are extremely stoked this beast is finally available, after many years in the making. Henry is an absolute madman shredder freak and this album requires repeated deep listens truly "get it". We scored some of the limited color vinyl copies (both green and orange) and you can pick this up now in the Robotic Empire - Online Store. * Preview HOUSE OF LIGHTNING at the Fair Warning Records bandcamp AND it wouldn't be a proper Robotic Empire update without some other bangin new items and restocks for the distro aspect of our Online Store. There's been a bunch of great new stuff over the past month or so (some of which got buried in the previous update) that we're highlighting it all below: NEW ITEMS: * Adult Crash - Unfinished Business 12" (Standards) $7.99 * Alpha Owl - 3-Song EP Cassette (Tor Johnson) $4.99 * Carne - Ville Morgue 12" (Solar Flare) $14.99 * Cave In - Until Your Heart Stops 12" (Hydra Head) $12.99 * Cavity - On The Lam 12" - PICTURE DISC VINYL (Hydra Head) $9.99 * Celeste - Animales(s) - 180 Gram BLACK VINYL 2◊12" (Denovali) $31.99 * Daitro - Y 12" - YELLOW COLORED VINYL (Echo Canyon) $16.99 * Daughters - Daughters 12" - CLEAR COLORED VINYL (Hydra Head) $12.99 * Floex - Gone 10" (Denovali) $21.99 * Heathen Reign - Self-Titled - PURPLE COLORED VINYL 12" (Heathen Reign) $14.99 * Helms Alee - Weatherhead Cassette (Hydra Head) $4.99 * Hollow Sunshine - Scale - Size: EXTRA LARGE T-Shirt (Robotic Empire) $14.99 * Hollow Sunshine - Scale - Size: LARGE T-Shirt (Robotic Empire) $14.99 * Hollow Sunshine - Scale - Size: MEDIUM T-Shirt (Robotic Empire) $14.99 * Hollow Sunshine - Scale - Size: SMALL T-Shirt (Robotic Empire) $14.99 * House of Lightning - Lightworker 12" - GREEN COLORED VINYL (Fair Warning) $14.99 * Landing - Gravitational IV 12" (Equation) $12.99 * Nihill - Verdonkermaan 12" (Hydra Head) $9.99 * Prurient - Times Arrow Cassette (Hydra Head) $4.99 * Pyramids / Horseback - A Throne Without A King Cassette (Hydra Head) $4.99 * Red Fang - Whales and Leeches 12" (Relapse) $9.99 * Robotic Empire - Snake - Size: EXTRA LARGE T-Shirt (Robotic Empire) $14.99 * Robotic Empire - Snake - Size: LARGE T-Shirt (Robotic Empire) $14.99 * Robotic Empire - Snake - Size: MEDIUM T-Shirt (Robotic Empire) $14.99 * Robotic Empire - Snake - Size: SMALL T-Shirt (Robotic Empire) $14.99 * Stuntman - Incorporate The ..Excess - CONFETTI COLORED VINYL 12" (Solar Flare) $14.99 * Tellusian - Collision 12" (Pillow Scars) $11.99 * Thou - Heathen Cassette (Robotic Empire) $5.99 * Thou - The Sacrifice Cassette (Robotic Empire) $5.99 * Thou - The Sacrifice 12" - CLEAR COLORED VINYL (Robotic Empire) $14.99 * Thou - DIY T-Shirt - Size: EXTRA LARGE (Robotic Empire) $14.99 * Thou - DIY T-Shirt - Size: LARGE (Robotic Empire) $14.99 * Thou - DIY T-Shirt - Size: MEDIUM (Robotic Empire) $14.99 * Thou - DIY T-Shirt - Size: SMALL (Robotic Empire) $14.99 * Waco F''k - Eliminate Culture 12" (Standards) $7.99 * Windhand - Soma - 180 GRAM WHITE PURPLE SWIRL COLORED VINYL 2◊12" (Relapse) $19.99 RESTOCKS: * Baroness - Blue 12" (Relapse) $19.99 * Baroness - Red Album 12" (Relapse) $19.99 * Cave In - Tides of Tomorrow 12" (Hydra Head) $9.99 * Cough - Ritual Abuse 12" - BLUE COLORED VINYL (Relapse) $19.99 * Cough / Windhand - Reflection of the Negative 12" - BLACK GREY SWIRL COLORED VINYL (Relapse) $12.99 * Forest Swords - Dagger Paths 12" (Olde English Spelling Bee) $15.99 * Huata - Atavist Of Mann 12" - RED COLORED VINYL (Music Fear Satan) $19.99 * Inter Arma - Sky Burial 12" (Relapse) $19.99 * Jesu - Heart Ache & Dethroned 2x12" (Hydra Head) $24.99 * Kayo Dot - Blue Lambency Downward 12" (Hydra Head)$ 12.99 * Kongh - Counting Heartbeats 12" - CLEAR COLORD VINYL (Music Fear Satan) $19.99 * Kongh - Counting Heartbeats 12" - PINK COLORED VINYL (Music Fear Satan) $19.99 * Old Man Gloom - No 2x12" (Sige) $19.99 * Pygmy Lush - Cold World / Guilt 7" - CLEAR COLORED VINYL (Lovitt) $4.99 * Pygmy Lush - Old Friends 12" (Lovitt) $12.99 * Thou - Baton Rouge, You Have Much To Answer For 12" - 180 Gram Black Vinyl $14.99 * Thou - Harp Lady T-Shirt Size: EXTRA LARGE (Mammoth) $14.99 * Thou - Harp Lady T-Shirt Size: LARGE (Mammoth) $14.99 * Thou - Harp Lady T-Shirt Size: MEDIUM (Mammoth) $14.99 * Thou - Harp Lady T-Shirt Size: SMALL (Mammoth) $14.99 * Torche - Songs For Singles 12" (Hydra Head) $12.99 * Year Of No Light - Ausserwelt 12" (Music Fear Satan) $19.99 * Year Of No Light - Nord 12" - WHITE COLORED VINYL (Music Fear Satan) $19.99 * Year Of No Light - Vampry 12" (Music Fear Satan) $19.99 YES! Lots of mean titles there, hit up the Robotic Empire - Online Store for all that and obviously heaps more. Last but definitely not least, Robotic Empire is participating in Record Store Day for the first time in 2014, with the release of our longest running project ever, the NIRVANA tribute album called In Utero: In Tribute: In Entirety. It's been roughly half the label's existence in the making, rounded the corner as our 100th (!) release, and officially comes out April 19th, 15 years almost exactly to the date of our very first ever release. To say this is a long time coming is a major understatement, and we're beyond thrilled that it's finally coming out. The initial vinyl release will be the Record Store Day version, which comes on maroon color vinyl and includes a RSD-exclusive poster. After RSD concludes, we will have a standard version available for mailorder folks who can't nab it via the record stores, but definitely head out to your local shop on April 19th as it's tough for independent businesses out there (as we know well) and it's very cool there is a specific event that keeps people aware of the brick & mortar operations braving the realities of retail today. OK that's it, holy smokes sooo much cool stuff - please pick something up if you can. JAH BLESS!

Finally, Jacob Van Loon contributed artwork and the debut EP is now ready to be unleashed. 12. SOME STRANGER will release their debut "Self-Titled" EP on April 2nd (digital) and April 30th (vinyl). Co-released by the band and independent label Robotic Empire, the digital version will be available as a pay-what-you-want download directly from the band via Bandcamp as well as traditional digital retailers. The vinyl will be released as a 45RPM 12" by Robotic Empire and is available for preorder now: http://www.roboticempire.com/store/index.php?main_page=advanced_search_result&keyword=Some+Stranger SOME STRANGER started immediately following the departure of vocalist Tym from his previous endeavor, rock outfit DAYTRADER. Joined by visual artist and guitarist Daniel Danger on guitar, the duo swiftly tracked the EP with Gary Cioffi (TRANSIT, MISSER). The record was then mixed by Vince Ratti (BALANCE AND COMPOSURE, CIRCA SURVIVE) and mastered by Will Yip (TITLE FIGHT, BLACKLISTED). Alternative Press' recent "100 Bands You Need To Know This Year" feature characterized SOME STRANGER as "a textured, haunting collection that defies easy categorization." Says vocalist Tym, "We're extremely excited to be working with Robotic Empire on this project. They've released some of our favorite records of all time... Torche, Isis, Jesu, pg99... the list goes on. We sent them some demos as we were writing them and when they offered to help us release it, it was a no-brainer. We finished up the recording process at the tail end of last year and we can't wait for people to hear it." Robotic Empire label founder Andy Low added "Having known Tym and Dr. Danger for a long time, it's exciting to hear SOME STRANGER pushing their individual and collective strengths in great ways. Our friends have crafted a powerful debut and we're thrilled to be a part of it!" TRACK LISTING: 1. On And On 2. Points East 3. Silver & The Sun 4. Song One 5. Sirens PREVIEW: The opening track "On And On" is streaming now over at absolutepunk.net: http://www.absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?t=3089271 ALBUM DESCRIPTION: Striking out from the wastelands of conventional "indie" or "emo" rock, SOME STRANGER emerge with five incredibly catchy tracks on their debut release. Blissful melodic vocals soaring over an erratic and driving rhythm section are combined with hyper yet delicate guitars run through an arsenal of effects pedals. The overall haunting results are leaps and bounds beyond most debut releases, the clear result of seasoned veterans combining forces to yield amazing results. Formerly of emo-rock outfit DAYTRADER, vocalist Tym joined friend and acclaimed visual artist / guitarist Daniel Danger to form SOME STRANGER with a mutual affliction for left-of-center angular rock. 13. We started the year with a release (TILTS) and now we'll end the year with one... SURPRISE: four of Justin K. Broadrick's incredible sonic personalities within one impressive 12" EP, simply titled Christmas. JESU lays the foundation with the initial hymn, along with brilliant remixes from related projects PALE SKETCHER and FINAL, plus an exclusive and brand new remix by the oppressive JK FLESH entity. Originally self-released as a digital-only EP for Xmas 2010, the 35+ minutes of music within have been sonically upgraded by mastering wizard James Plotkin specifically for the two physical formats. Vinyl edition comes on complimentary ice-blue color wax housed in a glorious high-gloss full color jacket, CD edition also comes with high-gloss artwork and has an exclusive lyrics page. * Each format is limited to a one-time pressing of 500 copies * Stream the full release now over at SPIN Magazine * Available to pre-order NOW at the Robotic Empire - Online Store We are expecting these to arrive at RoboHQ within the first week or two of December and plan to rock all the pre-orders right back out the door hopefully just in time for the holidays. If all goes according to plan, folks should be receiving their packages right around Xmas itself. However, because the entire postal system gets bogged down around the holidays, it is impossible to guarantee things at this time of year... that being said, Priority Mail is recommended for affordable semi-expedited delivery. This release has been in the pipeline for ages and we're glad it's finally (almost) in existence, even if so damn close to the wire. We're thrilled to work with Justin K. Broadrick again and have plans to announce another JKB release in 2013. Beyond that, it's been a wild year with a lot of changes for us but we're happy to say that some stability is finally on the horizon with new roots being put down (and/or in motion) after long periods of flux. We keep chugging along with the Robotic Empire - Online Store and want to genuinely thank everyone who's ordered from us this year, or... ever! We couldn't keep this operation afloat without the direct support of our mailorder followers, and we really appreciate all of those who've stuck with us through the years or just found out about us recently. It's getting increasingly difficult to run a label like ours in this "landscape" and blah blah blah, the same thing you've probably heard a lot of times by now... but at the end of the day, we are a small operation and sincerely appreciate everyone who's helped. Enough emo year-end-sentimentality, let's get to the MUSIC: lots of cool new stuff joins this update, including a rad NEIL YOUNG t-shirt (the same image infamously connected to LYNYRD SKYNYRD), OLD MAN GLOOM's appropriately-timed Christmas re-presses, BONGZILLA, PROTESTANT, THE AUSTRASIAN GOAT, and BASTARD NOISE / MAN IS THE BASTARD vinyl, SUTEKH HEXEN's new album and collections release on wax, sinister tapes from NIHILL and HALLOWED BUTCHERY and surprisingly/awesomely a fantastic new TAIGA cassette which is Bryant Clifford Meyer's solo project, our old dawg who is/was in such acts as ISIS, RED SPAROWES, PALMS and more! On the re-stock tip we've got extensive Denovali vinyl imports aplenty, Magic Bullet essential re-ups abound, LSD AND THE SEARCH FOR GOD, more OLD MAN GLOOM on cassette and vinyl, plus some other random jibba jabb. This is madness. In addition, all VLING recycled-vinyl-jewellery and related items are currently up to 50% off as well. And last but clearly not least, we have picked a winner for our most recent contest: congratulations to Björn Bauer for his incredible and intricate tree drawing that wins our shirt-design-contest. We received some seriously amazing submissions (either for content, skill and/or ability to make us laugh) but Björn's fantastic image hit the nail on the head. Check out his website for an extensive portfolio and more info on this great artist. Big ups to everyone who took the time and effort to submit something for this, it was a lot of fun going over all the entries, and (with their permission) we may post a few of the "runner up" images as well. We will post a larger version of Björn's graphic when we announce shirt ordering info in the coming weeks... stay tuned! BOOM! Great way to end the year. Hope everyone reading this can reflect on all the good things that have happened to them these past 11-12 months and let it percolate and overpower any bad elements of the year. OK OK enough hippy nonsense, don't trample your fellow man or anything but Robo-capitalist scum still say "go buy our rotatable plastic circles!" - Robotic Empire - Online Store
  14. It is with great amazement that we announce a recently-launched Kickstarter campaign in hopes of releasing a genuine BONE THUGS-N-HARMONY weed-tribute album on both CD and LP. This is obviously a unique release to come into our path, and we feel fully obligated to try making this a reality! There have been none before or after that accurately compare to the exclusive quality and talent that is BONE THUGS-N-HARMONY, and to unleash this heady collection is a privilege we won't soon forget. Renown globally with over 30 million(!) albums sold worldwide, BONE THUGS-N-HARMONY are true groundbreakers with their unique combination of heartfelt melody and street realism. A variety of vocal speeds and skills are mixed with infectious beats, resulting in unparalleled rap in both substance and style. (CD artwork, subject to change) Comprised of a magnificent crop of tracks from across BONE THUGS and members impressive catalogs of recordings, "For Smokers Only" is an incredible 12-track homage to their favorite medicinal herb. This "For Smokers Only" collection has never been available before on CD or LP, previously released earlier this year solely as a digital-download, and some of the material featured here will be made available in the physical format for the very first time! The songs found here are a dozen high quality nuggets representing BONE THUGS' fondness for imbibing in an age-old ritual that many of us also know and love. The full track list is as follows: We're doing this Kickstarter campaign with the goal of raising enough funds to start manufacturing CDs plus both the standard edition vinyl-LP and deluxe DIE HARD edition LP of "For Smokers Only", plus hopefully cover some licensing and legal fees, and basically just work with one of the most amazing hip hop bands on the planet! This is a special opportunity to own BONE THUGS-N-HARMONY material on vinyl, as most of their albums that've been pressed on wax are now long out of print. In combination with the vinyl, a FREE DIGITAL DOWNLOAD of "For Smokers Only" will be included with every LP ordered. HERE IS WHAT WE PLAN ON MAKING: * The CD will be packaged in a jewel case with full-color artwork. * The standard vinyl LP will come on your choice of black or green vinyl packaged in a color jacket, and includes a high quality digital-download of the full album. * The deluxe DIE HARD edition will come on limited "PURPLE HAZE" (purple-N-green) color vinyl housed in an oversized ziplock baggie, an exclusive "bud tribute" slipmat, a hand-numbered 11" x 17" screenprinted blacklight poster, stickers, 1.5" button, full album digital-download AND bonus additional download of the "Everyday Thugs" album! * A special limited vinyl TEST PRESS edition, plus the truly massive "VIP MEGABONE" option... Important Note:THIS RELEASE WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE IN NORTH AMERICA OUTSIDE OF THE LIMITED AMOUNT OF COPIES IMPORTED VIA THIS KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN!! Because this release is being manufactured and distributed in Europe, pledge prices have been calculated to include the "import shipping" costs for USA orderers. People in other countries can order as well, please just see the "International Shipping" price section of the FAQ found within the Kickstarter campaign, as shipping for this release is a little different (and cheaper) than how we normally do things. We've come up with a variety of different pledge options including super simple postage-paid CDs and LPs, wholesale options, the deluxe DIE HARD edition, a limited TEST PRESS option, plus an elaborate and crazy "VIP MEGABONE" $420 pledge option! Please see the Kickstarter campaign page for all of the details on everything we're offering here. This is running for one month and we're basically aiming to treat it as an "elaborate pre-order". Although this is the most we've asked for to date, after two previous successful Kickstarter campaigns under our belt we're hoping this one will be a success as well. That being said, the other campaigns definitely wouldn't have gone as well without kind people helping us spread the word. Seriously, a post on Facebook/Tumblr/Twitter/your blog/whatever actually helps a surprising amount, and we're totally down to hook up some bonus swag schwag at the end of this crazy thing if you wanna help us spread the word a bit. Just let us know at the end of the campaign if you posted something and we're happy to juice it up. Here's the link, please share it! http://www.kickstart...ly-cd-and-lp-re And here's a shorter one: http://kck.st/U9LsYQ An audio medley with a handful of clips from the album can be heard here: [media]http://soundcloud.com/roboticempire/bonethugs-medley http://soundcloud.co...onethugs-medley YEA-UH! That pretty much sums it up! This is easily one of the most exciting and wildest things Robotic Empire has attempted in our nearly 14-year history. We've talked about truly breaking out of our "comfort zone" genres for years, and what better way to do it than with a freakin BONE THUGS-N-HARMONY release?! Nobody (even us) was expecting this, so PLEASE help us make this thing a hit by spreading the word if ya can. BONE BONE BONE BONE BONE BONE.... So obviously that is the biggest news for us in a while, but far from all we've been up to lately. Besides working on prepping the BONE THUGS project for kind of a while, we've been busy stocking lots of AWESOME new tunes for the Robotic Empire - Online Store. Top on the list this time is the stunning FALSE / BARGHEST split LP, which our partner label Mirror Universe was kind of the catalyst for. A co-release with longtime brethren Gilead Media, this is one of the most blistering and relentless albums we've been involved with to date. Seriously incredible sophomore material from each band following two fantastic debut albums on Gilead last year, we are extremely stoked to have this in house and ready to rock. Dr. Broadcloak himself's timely OCD has proven itself glorious once again with an incredible package with fantastic artwork, a large poster insert and appropriately heavyweight vinyl. Fans of the heavy: DO NOT sleep on this one! * Available now in the Robotic Empire - Online Store This release is also available to stream in full, with FALSE showcasing their material through the mighty Decibel Magazine, and BARGHEST via bandcamp. * BARGHEST side: http://gileadmedia.b...com/album/split * FALSE side: http://www.decibelma...a-church-tower/ FALSE is currently on the road as well: GO SEE THEM if they're coming near you! 9/13 - Chicago, IL - LUMC - 2242 S. 15. Now we gone n dun it: another Robotic Empire Kickstarter has been launched! Why? Because we're seriously out of room at RoboHQ and need to clear some much-needed space for upcoming releases aplenty. We've dug through the archives and found some oddball items to offer up, plus we're doing pick-and-choose CD lots for well below cost. For real, $10 gets you 10 CDs, $20 gets you 25 CDs, $50 gets you 30 titles (including the 8xCD FLOOR set, new 2xCD AIDAN BAKER release and some other jammers). We've got test presses from ISIS, GHASTLY CITY SLEEP and TILTS, discounted damaged goods, an overstock-vinyl-lot, and will probably add some other jibba jab as it surfaces. Total goal amount: $420 This is more of a space-making endeavor than a money making one, so please check it out as the deals are pretty retardo. To please kickstarter's guideline-enforcers, we are calling these "Custom Robotic Empire Care Packs" and will draw whatever madness you want on the box, sales receipt and/or anywhere else. This was surprisingly popular during our previous/first Kickstarter for the TILTS LP release (which is nearly sold out now too, we've got about 25 copies left) so we're upping the ante this time and making it standard practice for all orders made via this campaign. So get weird with it: Wanna see the Terminator hitting a gravitybong: DONE. How about a unicorn battling a dinosaur? DEAL. Or maybe a mystic wizard cooking pancakes? Strange, but OKAY. Basically whatever dumb stuff you can conjure up: we'll scrawl it onto or within your package wherever we can. Yes, this is kinda goofy... but we're trying to keep this space-making operation interesting, for both you and for us. So please hit up our Kickstarter page and help us make this happen! Gotta say too, the success of the TILTS campaign was heavily indebted to people posting on their various social media outlets and forums... so if you're willing to share this stupidity, we'll gladly throw in some BONUS SCHWAG at the end of the campaign. Just let us know when we send out the "kickstarter survey" thing at the end and we'll juice ya up! THANKS! * Robotic Empire - Custom Care Packs @ Kickstarter
  16. Hi everyone! We've got an announcement for a new release pre-order today along with a pretty stacked distro update that includes a GODFLESH Test Press!!, loads of Bridge 9 stock, the long unavailable FURNACE Doublewalker 12", along with too many other things to highlight. Please continue reading: Two of the finest underground US metal outfits have teamed up for an unstoppable split album: BARGHEST and FALSE will release a stunning 12" LP this summer via Gilead Media and Mirror Universe, a "partner label" of Robotic Empire. FALSE and BARGHEST come from drastically different worlds, and their individual approaches to black metal reflect this. BARGHEST hail from the swamps of Baton Rouge, LA and take the misanthropic "anti-human/anti-life" angle, delivering disgustingly abrasive, lo-fi metal. A lineup without bass, yet full of unflinching aggression and thickness. FALSE call the frozen landscape of Minneapolis, MN home, and with a foundation of synth-tinged European black metal complimented by a hypnotic atmosphere, create intensely eerie music. For all of their differences, they also share some key similarities. Each group released a debut album in 2011 with Gilead Media/Howling Mine, and both were met with overwhelmingly positive response from zines, blogs, and fans. FALSE and BARGHEST also each contain an oppressive quality in their respective sounds. This is not music for casual listening, but more akin to a psychological journey through realms devoid of light or hope. BARGHEST offer two tracks for the split. "Shifting Sands" is one of the first songs the band ever wrote, and is finally now available in a physical format. Although an older piece, it still possesses the aesthetic BARGHEST solidified for themselves on their Untitled debut album. "Inhuman Hatred" follows, a brand new song with obvious death metal influences. It carries a greater sense of focus and purpose than the material from their full-length, without abandoning their unique style. FALSE have grown in unbelievable ways since their debut 12". Their single track on this split--"Heavy as a Church Tower"--clocks in at nearly 18 minutes, and stands as hard evidence that FALSE are quickly becoming an undeniable force within American black metal. The ferocious intensity from their debut is amplified here, and paired with a more mature sense of mood and atmosphere. Their side of the split is very much FALSE, evolved. Artwork for this split album has been crafted by Bryan Proteau of Natvres Mortes Illustration, with LP jackets printed on heavyweight stock. A printed inner sleeve is included, and 800 copies pressed on 180gram black vinyl. This release is now available to stream in full, with FALSE showcasing their material through the mighty Decibel Magazine, and BARGHEST on bandcamp. * BARGHEST side * FALSE side * Cover Art There you go, the entire split before your very ears and pre-orders are up now on the Robotic Empire - Online Store. We expect to receive the records around the 2nd to 3rd week of August and will begin shipping orders out ASAP once they arrive. 17. Two of the finest underground US metal outfits have teamed up for an unstoppable split album: BARGHEST and FALSE will release a stunning 12" LP this summer via Gilead Media and Mirror Universe, a "partner label" of Robotic Empire. Pre-orders will come later in July via both Gilead Media and Mirror Universe/Robotic Empire. Accordingly, FALSE will embark on a lengthy US tour to support the release.
