  1. Apparently I suck at technology and am fed up and frustrated and at this point desperate for some help. My old MacBook from 2009 had all my music on it and was synced with my iphone. That piece of garbage barely worked and somehow I managed to sync my current iPhone 6 to it whenever I first got it. I finally bought a new computer this year (surface pro 4) so I would like to transfer what little music I have on this iPhone to my new computer before syncing it and erasing everything. If I have to I'll erase it and start over but I figured I'd check to see if anyone here has had any experience with this kind of thing. I've been using Spotify for the past few years just so I wouldn't have to deal with the hassle of downloading music on my piece of shit slow ass MacBook. I've looked into software like sharepod and similar programs but they all look sketchy AF and cost a lot of money. I also bought an external hard drive (when I got my new computer) to transfer my music from my old MacBook to my new computer but I couldn't get it to boot up. Oh well. If I'm better off erasing it and starting fresh let me know.
  2. Hi Guys, Firstly, hope this is OK to post. As a collector myself, admittedly not of vinyl particularly, i'd like to introduce a new app my company (Tactile Solutions) have just released into the App Store! At the moment, it is completely free with no In-App-Purchases or Ad's. Hence me drawing your attention to it now! All we ask if you could possibly leave a review on the app store, with any additional features you'd like to see! We're already working on integrating with social media and ebay etc - if there's a a way we can integrate directly into this forum i'd be happy to work on that too! (Admin's feel free to get in touch). With 'My Collections Organiser' you can now simply scan a barcode of an item you have bought and store them into any category you want, all on your iOS device! The app will automatically identify your biggest and best categories and make it easy, quick and fun to browse through them! In one app, you can keep a record of all your collections in an easy, manageable and convenient way. The Main Features: * Scans barcodes and retrieves the name of the items along with a photo (if available). * Manual name entry if your item is not found on the database via barcode. * Totally Unique, user definable categories. Items without barcodes? Not a problem! Add absolutely anything with our manual add function. * Multi / Batch Scan - Got loads to scan? Scan them all at one time, put your feet up and let 'My Collections Organiser' do the work for you, looking up multiple item information and automatically adding them to your selected category. * Store items into any category you wish and select a stored item to bring up a photo, the full item name and when the item was added to the category. You can create as many as you like, so go crazy! * Lists & User Defined Information. Fed up of being restricted on what information you can store about your items? Now you can create your own fields, storing whatever information you want to. * Instant Item Checker - In a shop? Can't remember if you've got that film or not? Don't take the risk! Scan the item and 'My Collections Organiser' will instantly tell you if that barcode is stored somewhere in your collection. Simple! * iCloud sync, allowing you to keep track of your collections across all your iCloud-enabled devices. * E-mail a CSV export of your collections to view on your computer or anywhere else that supports the CSV file format. * Don't like E-mail? Directly access a CSV export of your collections simply by entering an address into the web browser! https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/my-collections-organiser-books/id1013962601?ls=1&mt=8
  3. Is anyone else thinking about getting the Apple Watch? It seems pretty cool, but I wonder if it would be better to wait until the next generation. I've read some reviews that are not all positive, but also seems like personal preferences just need to be changed in the settings. What's everyone's thoughts? Pros/cons?
  4. Hello there, I want to share an app I just discovered yesterday. I figured it could help some of you as it helped me. I suspected my turntable ran a slightly higher speed than it should. I tried to sync a song with a cd/mp3 of the same song and the difference was stunning. Since my turntable did not come with a strobe light, verifying the speed is tricky. I once tried an app called iRPM which gave me about 34.5 rpm but I did not have full confidence with it. Yesterday I decided to dig deeper into it as I am digitalising my music collection and after a few searches I found a very interesting app. Beforehand, you'll need a test record with a 3150 Hz track. I bought one from a dollar bin a couple of years ago so look around if you don't have one yet, they are fairly easy to find. The app is called PlatterSpeed and is available here : https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/platterspeed-vinyl-tool/id415629169?mt=8 So basicly all you have to do is play the 3150 Hz track, start the app and check the results either in realtime or afterward when you're done. Unsurprisingly, the result was also 34.5 rpm so there is something wrong with my turntable. It might be the belt or the motor but I'll get to it soon. I hope this helps some of you. You can post anymore usefull apps you might think people would like to discover.

  8. Figured I would separate this from my record sale thread. I made a listing for it on eBay, but would rather just sell it outright (avoiding Craigslist like the plague... haha) Looking for about $250, but I would consider strong offers. I really babied it--only flaw is that there is light scuffing on the brushed metal edges from a bumper case--dust particles got in between the case and the phone. Not very noticeable if you aren't going to use a case, and a complete non-issue if you plan to use a case. There's nothing wrong with it--I was just due for an upgrade and moved to an Android phone. Here's the eBay link: http://www.ebay.com/...984.m1555.l2649 PM me on here if you're interested and I'll pull the listing for you. Going to have to be fast though, because I don't know if I can cancel the listing after someone bids on it.
