Offthesky and Pleq preorder up, first 100 on white 180gm

INFX 061 LP.  A Thousand Fields is the first collaboration between Denver, Colorado based artist offthesky (Jason Corder) and Warsaw, Poland based musician Pleq (Bartosz Dziadosz).  From the opening restrained "Ashes of America"

with intermittant ominous strings through the industrial landscape of "drown under..." with it's glittering glass and harmonious drones breaking through, this work of ambient tapestry sees each artist pulling the best work from one another.  Both are veteran experimental and ambient recording artists with dozens of recordings to their credit.  Featured on a multitude of labels that read like a roster of contemporary ambient and soundscape recordings - Home Normal, Ephre, Taalem, Databloem,
dataObscura, Basses Frequencies, Constellation Tatsu to name just a few.

This recording feels like a potential has been met.  What has been hinted at in solo and prior collaborations meshed together with an influence of equal parts minimalism, fourth world ambience, field recordings, drone, and experimental composition to a stunning degree.

Composition is thrilling when notes are allowed to breathe, to vibrate.  A single piano string, the circular slow melody of a violin, as on the nostalgic "Delicate Exit" or the delicate assembly of abstract beauty - distant harp, an interrupted string section, shuffling of feet, a ghostly echo as on "simulacromancer".

This is a 2xLP set, mastered by Carl Saff, cut at 45 rpm. It is housed in a tip-on style heavy gatefold sleeve with OBI strip featuring artwork from Jin Pyhai. The first 300 copies will include a bonus 7" entitled "Still Your Bones" (INFX 062 S) with 2 exclusive tracks. The entire pressing is a 500 copy edition, available in white 180g vinyl (limited to 100 copies) and the remaining 400 copies will be on black 180g vinyl.

Felicia Atkinson is having pre-orders for her upcoming album A Readymade Ceremony, out in March. Few copies on limited clear vinyl left, the remaining on black. Quite the bargain as the pre-order is 16,8$ shipped. Really nice to see vinyl prices closing in to CDs for a change.

Yes FINALLY for the Pleq and Offthesky record...been waiting for what seems like forever! My order was #80 so I am assuming there are only 10-15 copies left of the White...(accounting for double orders and give aways)

When I ordered the white there were 20 copies left. I could choose white in the options.

Yodok III - The Sky Flashes, The Great Sea Yearns 2LP arrived to me from Mr Serries the other day. Mesmorising work, almost 'post-rock' in nature. The percussion adds even a DEP-influenced math element to the proceedings. It's very great.

Damn, some great recommendations in this thread... Thanks to everyone posting. I've only been stopping by VC for a little over a week, and it's already cost me much more money than I needed to spend.

I'd like to throw this one into the ring... It was released last year on RVNG.  I've played in many times since then.

Bing & Ruth: Tomorrow Was The Golden Age

Haha, that's pretty much how it works.  That Bing & Ruth is really good, thanks for that recommendation!  I'm not super familiar with RVNG's artist stable, but I'm very pleased with the what I've heard.

What's your favorite album of this genre that's never had the vinyl treatment?

Mine would have to be Sparks by Black Elk.

Was really wishing for that one this morning...

This netlabel release is one of my all time favourite - I've Lost - Dissociative Fugue
