museummouth
Ok, so as everyone knows I've always been on the constant hunt for a Snowing Tour Tape. I've been post on here and various Facebook groups looking for it. Just last night I posted my collection on the Pop Punk/Emo thread and Twinkle Daddies thread on Facebook looking to see if anyone could help me complete it. And I get a message from a guy short after saying he has one that he'll sell. This is where it gets shady. I'm not going to post his name but here's the convo. Hey man saw your post in twinkle daddies. I have a copy of the snowing tour tape and as I'm moving to a new city I need all the available income I can get. Haven't played it in a while it's more a nostalgic piece than anything to me so if consider paring ways with it to complete your collection 3 hours ago That would be amazing. How much would you want for it I was in the range of 80$ would that be able to work for you? My max was around the $50 range. Could we meet in the middle and do like $65? Or would take some trades for it I could do 65 but that would be my lowest offer. I am moving this weekend so I'd like to mail it today at some point. Do you want it overnight or standard Standard is great. Could I see a pic first? Yeah I'm going to have to dig it out of the boxes so give me a little time this morning. Take your time! You're helping me out so much No problem man glad to see it go to a good home about an hour ago
museummouth
Here's a link with all the info for it with pictures. I took the listing down a while ago due to no activity wasn't stressed if this page was still up but it is thank god. http://m.ebay.com/itm?itemId=141264225278# No one touched it for 100$ so I need to get rid of it and don't mind doing so to help out a collection like yours So it's safe to assume its in great condition? Mint condition man it was in plastic shrink wrap from the first day I owned it. I played the cassette on the ride home from the show and I don't think I have since Awesome. What's your paypal? I can send it over right now Don't use one anymore I've been trying this new app called simple but it's been pretty difficult to send funds into needs a little improvement. Can you do money order? Send shipping address as well Western union has a super easy online money transfer system go to their homepage and follow the steps message when you need my info setting it up now Okay do cash from agent in store for reciept let me know what you need from me I've downloaded the app for it. The only thing is that it seems that I'm not protected in any way. That's the one luxury of PayPal but I had a wretched experience with them and swore them off I can deduct the 10$ charge off the amount for your hassle other than that my record store offered me 40 for it so I can do that if need be. I understand where your coming from so it's up to you. I can give you any info you need from me as well I'm just afraid of getting burned out $60. It's just a bit weird because some dude sent me that ebay link a while ago saying that was his copy. Plus it's says its from Ohio and you're from Idaho. If you could ship it to me and I'll pay you when it arrives that would work. I have tons of feedback from selling on forums here, vinyl collective, ebay and etsy I would have to recieve funds first before I ship there were only 50 made and it is the memorabilia I have from that show. I'm moving back to Ohio spent the semester studying at North Idaho College. Yeah I just don't trust that it's yours. I looked up the guy who told me it was his auction and his hometown matches the ebay listing. You don't have any connection to Ohio dude. Your high school on your page even says Idaho. If you're trying to scam me just admit it. But I'm not going to believe that you have it unless I can see a picture of it with my name on a piece of paper next to it There is no scam dude think about the type of guy who would scam someone based off a twinkle daddy post it just doesent make sense let me get off work and dig it out of my Box then take your picture for you I'll get back to you in a few Alright I 'll see the pic
museummouth
Can't wait to see the picture. What should I do next? Put him on blast on all these sites as a scammer? The weird thing is that some other dude a month ago sent me that link saying it was his. I checked that original guy's Facebook and his hometown matches with the ebay listing, and this new dude has no connections to Ohio at all. horrorbusiness138
Sounds shady as hell. I would never EVER do Western Union. I'd proceed with extreme caution from here.

dethrock
Seems like a fairly obvious scammer, but if he still claims to be legit, just ask him to send a picture of the tape with either him in the picture or a piece of paper with his user name on it. BuzzersonKillwell
Sounds a lot different than the Twinkie Daddy site I go to. I wouldn't send this dude anything unless he will take Paypal and not as a gift. aflycon

castaway
Let him sell it to the record store, ask which one he sold it to, have a VC buddy in Idaho check it out?

THE_James_Champ
Yep, don't use western union. You will NOT be protected in any way. This seems incredibly shady, so I would probably step away unless he can do what the you asked....take a timestamped picture with his name, your name, etc.
castaway
IF he actually has it..... Just gotta call the record store and ask if they got it... No risk.
kamalatapes
I guarantee you he is scamming you. The listing on eBay said he can accept PayPal. Yet he claims he swore off PayPal? lmao

rtw88
I don't know if they even sold these at shows. They were made for a cancelled tour and put online. That's how I got mine. museummouth

jhulud
This reeks of scam all over it. I would just move on. I had a similar situation recently with two Horkey prints I had been searching for high and low. Got in contact with a guy on one of the Horkey FB groups and the prices were very reasonable. Dude sent me pics and everything and everything looked good and I was ready but then he started insisting and urging to pay him immediately and begging. Even gave me his cell # to prove he was legit and all. I reached out to a couple of senior members of another Horkey group and sure enough, the dude is a scammer. museummouth
