iron666monkey
Megadeth will be releasing their first five major label albums on picture disc vinyl in the US on November 11th through UMe. Frontman/guitarist Dave Mustaine oversaw the remastered mixes for the new pressings. Each album’s requisite cover art will appear as the image on the vinyl. Albums getting the treatment include: “Peace Sells…But Who’s Buying?” “So Far, So Good…So What!” “Rust In Peace” “Countdown To Extinction” “Youthanasia” Pre-orders for all five are currently available at Amazon. Wish it wasn't pic discs, but I'll be stoked to have Youthanasia at a reasonable price.
Dusted_By_Space
I would love to have countdown and youthanasia, but not for 36 bucks a piece. hopefully those prices will drop a good bit.

I'm sure once a bunch of resellers are competing on Amazon you'll be able to get them in the low 20's.

bgdesign
In for Youthanasia. I have all the others. Need Cryptic Writings next.
kannibal
Picture disc? No thanks. And I would love Youthanasia and Cryptic Writings, but it's obvious little care is taken towards sound quality with these releases, so I wouldn't expect them to sound too great, picture disc or not, so no thank you. mcpherson123
Picture Discs? This is me. What's the point in doing a remaster when you're just going to smash the music shittily into a pic disc?

Aealo
This is me. What's the point in doing a remaster when you're just going to smash the music shittily into a pic disc? I have heard brickwalled remasters sound great on pic discs now you have double distortion
burntwolf
maybe these will also be the remixed versions for extra crapiness... faithnolife
faithnolife
It says right in the info "oversaw the remastered mixes" NO FUCKING THANKS. Those CD Remasters that came out in like 2004 with the new mixes were so godawful that I wouldn't keep any of these if they were given to me. I'll keep my early pressings of the early albums and continue to never own anything after Rust in Peace unless I magically come upon an original Countdown or Youthanasia for a reasonable price. burntwolf
The Capital Vault vinyl reissues were the original mixes. I have Rust in Peace and it sounds good. I am still on the lookout for an OG press to compare it to. I have an OG So Far, So Good but didn't feel the need to get the reissue. faithnolife
mcpherson123
If it ain't on black, it ain't for Mac(Pherson123) Color doesn't apply here. Pic disc is a whole different ball of wax (pun possibly intended) than normal vinyl. At This point I'd take white over pic disc. burntwolf

I know RIP is the original, as I have both vault and OG, but I think the vault So far... is the new mix. jack8urt0n

iron666monkey
Got Youthanasia in the mail today. I've wanted this album for ages but could never justify dropping hundreds. The picture disc surprisingly sounds pretty good.
