drewvandal
Went to a local audio store as I am getting ready to buy a new set-up. Really loved the B&W CM8R's. Anyone else have these, what are your thoughts for the money? Best, Drew
circuit bored records
I've heard them and done extensive a/b/c testing on the CM8/9/10. The CM8 is a great floorstanding speaker and quite impressive. Great choice on the rosenut as well. Are you getting any type of deal/discount on them? Yeah - They have a pair of demos they can sell me for 2K for the pair. They would be with an MMF 5-1 table and an Onkyo TX85-11 (I know not an ideal receiver, just can't upgrade the whole rig at once)
circuit bored records
I'm assuming these are the series 1 which are discontinued? $2k is not that great of a deal for used floor models tbh, you can still order the series 1 brand new in gloss black from any best buy or magnolia store for $934.99 each which would be right around $2k out the door... The cost on those speakers are much lower than $2k, I personally wouldn't pull the trigger unless it was around $1600 out the door due to the fact that they are display models... Do they have all the speakers on a selector? There is nothing like comparing different makes and models instantly on the fly.

I have the B&W 683's so it's not a fair comparison, but I do like mine, and I like B&W in general
